Do You Get Shot At From Cars?

Featured Replies

I thought I had seen from videos on youtube that perps or their passengers would sometimes shoot out of fleeing cars windows at you. Granted this would be a rare event but I have yet to see it in this build even though I have done many traffic stops and chases. Has anyone had this?

It's rare. Just wait for it. Be happy when you don't get it, because it annoys the crap out of me.

I have a motorcycle patrol vid on youtube. It's in media section. Nothing special. But in it is a pursuit where the driver of a taxi opens fire on me with an uzi. He fires out of his window at me while I chase him. My officer even says something I have never heard before about being hit in the leg. Reason I remember it was a taxi is it was filmed before I found a fix for the taxi bug :p

Also I can't recal but I don't think it was a result of a callout.

Edit: well there was, guess It dropped of the site during the power failure that caused this site to loose some data. Unless I just suck at search :p

Another edit: In reponse to post below. Just to clarify the vid in which it happened to me was filmed with 95RC but yes it's rare.

@ 8.56 this all started from a normal traffic stop. Trigger could have been me shooting at him.

Yes, it is possible to get shot at from vehicles in 0.95RC1, even when not on a callout. I think it is a rare occurrence now, as I have only had it happen to me once as of now. I was in a pursuit with my partner when the passenger shot at our car and killed my partner! This caused me to allow lethal force and call in the whole of LCPD and NOOSE to assist me, which, needless to say, resulted in two dead suspects. :turned:

Lately, I have noticed a MASSIVE gang presence in the Exchange disctrict that I never thought was there, which is the area I usually patrol lately. Sometimes trying to stop a gang member at shooting after attempting to shoots turns the whole block into a massive shootout area. I had one case in Little Italy where a gang member started shooting at us from a Bus a passenger as well! I also had another case yesterday after a pursuit, trying to shoot out a suspect's tires as he was fleeing, apparently the Mafioso folk there didn't like it and all pulled out Small Machine Pistols, like MP5s. Got messy enough that it was one of the few times I had to call in NOOSE backup.

I wonder if having HARDCORE = true or false makes a difference on the suspects shooting from their vehicles..

I am playing without Hardcore mode on, and I have had suspects shoot at us from the car during some pursuits already. Usually I back off in the interest of my own and public safety and authorize lethal force when necessary.

As others here have said there is no evidence or reason why hardcore mode would affect the chance of this happening.

Happened to me using regular mode.

Also I think it might just be the same chance thing depending on the ped. Some peds in some areas like Hove beach are more likely to carry a weapon and fire on you. So I guess the same applies when they are in a car as well. Especially if the passenger is a gang member or something similar.

I just took a closer look at the vid I posted and it does seem it's the passenger not the driver that opens fire on me.

Also looks like I fired first and then he started shooting back.
