As I said earlier, it depends on the state. In Florida, if she's still under 24 and he's 16 or older, it calls into this difference of age Loophole. Each state is a little different on how this is approached. In some states, it's strictly 18 or older, in quite a few others, it is as low as 16. Then like In Florida, the law says 18 with certain exceptions.

Just wanted to clear up the legality POV for US, as unlike a lot of countries, it really doesn't run a strict national basis (or it doesn't yet.)

Seriously, all kidding aside. I've come to realize in my old age; better to just tell the truth.  It's much easier in the long run, and a good rule to live by in general.  

 

Also remember; it's not what you say that can offend, but how you say it.  Soft landing...
