Woke up this morning to find that EVERYTHING was white. Snow was everywhere. Went to my local news website (WRAL) to find that there is more snow to come today.

Now the thing that I tought was the most outragest was that the NC State Highway Patrol responded to 2780 calls of service and out of those 1900 were car collisions. And so far there has been 3 fatalities

 

I was just wondering how bad it is in other states and counties with all this snow.

Come to Canada, December-January hits and all of Canada covered, so far there have been 3 fatalities (I think) due to unsafe driving in winter conditions in the Halifax/Dartmouth/Cole Harbour Area's Highway 103 outbound passed Tantallon was rated the most dangerous highway in Canada, peopll die on that stretch of highway every year.

Cool, I don't mind snow at all a foot would be nice. So far it snowed 3-4 inches, then rained, and then back to snow RIGHT NOW (heavy snow)

Here in Massachusetts (like BrendanWoolbert said) its getting worse by the minute, we still have snow here from the snowfall in January.

Northern VA was just about cleared from the last bout we had, but we got hit pretty much all across MD/VA/DC with at least 12 inches overnight. Some places got 16.

I live in New York and we just got about 7 inches that fell and we had about 5 inches of snow from the other day so it is pretty bad. It's been raining for like 2 hours so it is slushy and slippery and it supposed to start snowing again so it will be real icy. 

Woke up, shoveled driveway. Went inside for less than 10 minutes, had to shovel the same spots again. New England FTW!

Southern folks: Much love, but there are no shortage of pickup trucks where you live. Attach a plow, get to work and stop crying. I drove to work during the vortex this year, and only the MA driving ban stopped me from driving anywhere during last years 26" storm.

If you don't live down south then you don't know how much snow we get. Also we got 5 and 1/2 inches. I understand that you might get more but that's because of where you live. And now there is black ice all over our roads.

Actually I do get updates on how much snow you get down there. Have you heard of a program called 'The News'? It reaches beyond the borders of my state sometimes, especially when other states are calling in the National Guard and declaring states of emergency for snow that doesn't even reach peoples hub caps. There's black ice on the roads here any night there's any precipitation and it gets to 35F or below. Only when the ice melts, and the roads have dried out does that go away. As far as I'm concerned, any real danger in the southern states blamed on the winter conditions are actually caused by their drivers.
