Clan Signups will begin this weekend 2/29/2014

Edited by WSPChiefReefer

Just been reading this, looks like a good mod!

I've done some web application that synced with an RP mode in ARMA before, was quite unique and adds a load more to the game being able to do stuff outside of the game!

I will re-Phrase that. I went to select clans and offered the system. Currently I have a set group of Large clans testing this system.

UNFORTUNATELY During Alpha and Beta testing several clans decided to ruin it for the rest of you.

Testers / Clans now have cracked and attempted to re-create my system on their own servers

THEREFOR I AM NOW GOING TO BE THAT JACKASS - THAT ONLY USES THIS SYSTEM FOR HIS OWN CLAN, SINCE PPL CANT SEEM TO RESPECT THE TIME AND EFFORT OF OTHERS!!!

SORRY TO THOSE OF YOU WHO COULD HAVE USED THIS WITHOUT STEALING - MAYBE DOWN THE ROAD IT CAN HAPPEN...

This is really bad, I don't like people who steals one work at the other, so-called has them on my part that they are scavengers.

It's ugly to see this for so it would have been a very good job well done!

They steal your work place at home and kill your own work.

So is it going to just die out then? Pretty sure there's a lot of people that would love to see this out there. There is a way to fix the system to be uncrackable. Braveheart has done it with his system to prevent those measures

Not everyone looks at the greater good for the lcpdfr community. I believe that this developer and/or project in general was looking for attention and fame.

People need to think about the good they can do and the mark they can make rather than what they can do for themselves, you will be rewarded. It doesn't matter if you're the President, Eisenstein, etc. You start something and let other people take it further, no one person or group can do everything, it doesn't matter if it's your idea or time it will come to an end and others will need to pick it up. You may make something, but there is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS!!!! someone out there that can and at some point will make it better!!!! Get over it, it's called life.

---How cool would it have been if this developer opened it up for communities, and he/she could watch them build his/her original program into something grand knowing it was his/her original program. But nope, all that was going through the head of the devs were "MINE MINE MINE".

The devs had/have every right to go "mine mine mine", they were going to release it for other people, but clans decided to crack it and claim it as their own. giving no credit to the original author. honestly, i would've pulled the plug on it aswell.

Yeah, people make things better.. but the people who "tweaked" it, didn't make it better.. they just completely stole the creators hard earned work, claimed it as their own and no credit what so ever is given to the original creator, all of it is going to the thieves. It only takes one person to ruin a great mod for thousands of others, and that is what the thieves have done.

Yes but the way the creators went about presenting and releasing this system taunted and/or urged "thieves" to do this. If it was released to begin with in a working form with basic functions, either lock it up or release an open source or source code then let people have at it, people would be more willing to reserve credit.

The more you restrict, the more you will attract people to break into the code or rewrite it or edit and call it their own, that's just the way the world is, there are always people find ways to get what they want.

It isn't a good idea to say or present this awesome system that my clan has and say oh but I'll be releasing "public version" which will be restricted and dumbed down. Then go to communities and go here are your basic functions that aren't as cool as my clans. That's basically what happened, it wasn't done in a direct bragging manner but it was still done in indirect ways.

I agree that people should ALWAYS credit authors/devs/creators, their work, their time, they deserve it. However, next time it would be great to say hey I'm having an open beta for a version of this system I made, any communities willing to try it out here ya go. Make it extremely customization for the functions it has so people don't have to "make it their own".

---Do I think that it was in the right of the author to shut down this system? Yes I do, it wasn't all one parties' fault though, however everything could have gone a lot better so everyone could be encouraged to push this idea in a positive direction.
