Beacon light script

Featured Replies

Hi there!

I'm searching for a script that toggles siren lights & models when switching the ingame siren. The idea is to have a rooftop beacon light which appears only when siren is toggled on.

Is there something like that?

Or (if it doesn't exist) is it possible to script? In that case, I'd love to learn something on scripting and make it on my own (if anyone can address me on the basics).

Thank you for reading!

PS
What I mean for "beacon light":

wired, manually placed, external (usually blue on rooftop) emergency light, in use of undercover / unmarked european police vehicles

Rooftop beacon light? I'm not too sure, but there is spotlight mods but you'd have to toggle them manually, and move them to the top of the vehicles.

Additionally, this vehicle has a "Rooftop Beacon Light" that is enabled I believe with the ELS lights.

Do you mean something like the unmarked Zafira in this pack?

yes! Exactly what I'm searching for. As the pics show, that light is a "removable" component, isn't it? (hopefully they're not 2 different models... one with the light and the other without...)

How is it scripted? ELS maybe?

EDIT: nope...

This Vauxhall Zafira pack comes with four models:

- Vauxhall Zafira Mk1 2002 (Metropolitan Police, IRV with Britax Halogen Lightbar)

- Vauxhall Zafira Mk1 2003 (Metropolitan Police, DPG/IRV Carrier with Vision-Alert Halogen Lightbar)

- Vauxhall Zafira Mk1 2004 (Metropolitan Police, Unmarked)

- Vauxhall Zafira Mk1 2004 (Civilian)

They're 2 different models... I'm searching for a script that "hides" the light model itself when siren is toggled off

Dash Light Mod

it won't make your traffic stop/pull over

To get a rooftop light works you'd need 2 elements I guess: extra_light_model with a proper ELS mode so you could turn it on and off and a set of extras as a light sources.

That's where you're wrong my friend. Take a look in game, the light only appears when you get to stage 3 in ELS v7. It's not scripted, it's just when Doppler made the car he added the light to extra_1, _2, _3 and _4.

Unfortunately Dash Light Mod is no more online: all links are dead.

I'm so happy I was wrong! =)

Then using ELS it's possible to toggle the model when toggling the light itself. That's great!

It seems I have to study how ELS works, that could be fun =) suggestions?

(By the way: never loved ELS because of the "god mode"... If someone has a tip for non-ELS scripting, like EVCS, it will be very appreciated)

You can try turn a lightbar into whats essentially an indicator, then use the Strobes mod to make it flash like an LED. Never tried it, but give it a shot and see what happens.

As Ekalb explained me >here, vehicle lights are hardcoded to each vehicle slot.

From what I've tested so far, indicator light should (anyway) flash as a yellow indicator light. In fact, the Strobes Mod doesn't change flashing frequency of the indicators: it just turn them on & off. Same thing for headlights, and that's why (I think) they can't flash indipendently.

From what I've learned, is not even the model part itself to radiate the light, but it's the associated dummy.
