I'd like to see routine calls show up in Outstanding calls for officers to assign themselves to, and Urgent and Immediate priority calls assigned by dispatch. If no dispatcher is available you could allow them to be placed into the queue of Outstanding calls for self dispatch as needed.

A dispatcher should be able to communicate with Officers, to facilitate the inquiry into an officer's current disposition, say if they've been assigned to a call for an extended period of time. If the officer forgot to mark themselves available they could then be dispatched and if they're on a routine call and an immediate call is holding they could be reassigned, with the routine call still being in their inquiries for after they've finished with the priority call. Dispatchers would be able to note the area the officer is assigned to and if no officer is available they could dispatch an officer from out of area to priority calls. I don't know how easy it would be to program, but I have a couple of sound effects you could have the system make, one for a call being assigned, one for dispatch making inquiry, etc.

Often in my area, if a low priority or routine call has been holding for a while, a Sgt will get on the air and request an officer to clear their current call to take care of it. With the new dispatch system there should be a time stamp of when a call was generated and should be marked for attendance if it's been holding for an extended time.

I've got a few more thoughts on the matter but those are the most important of my ideas so far. Keep up the good work Braveheart

I like those ideas a lot. The same happens here - if there's a call and no-one accepts it, control will get onto our shift sergeant who will then recommend either a) someone drop their current activities to attend or b) to ask another area for a resource. Also just to let everyone know I've since recruited the assistance of rushlink (http://www.lcpdfr.com/cops/forum/user/4024-rushlink/) to help with development. I'm not sure of his username on the system - mine is Constable.

Anyone else except me unable to pick exceedingly long cases to work with mysql errors?

There's a magnitude of mysql errors we're looking into. You can help by letting us know which case it is you're trying to work, what you're trying to do with the case, the name of the .php file in the url and what the error says.

Is this the last report that was submitted prior to the errors?

That might be a problem.. or at least a hint of whats going on.. all the "r and n"'s

That's just my terrible PHP skills! That one will be sorted in due course.

In every case it's an extremely long crime report and always an error about the mysql strings and the first line of the report.

EDIT: //////////s everywhere makes it hard to read :(

This system is awesome man. It adds a level of depth that truly helps to make LCPDFR an amazing Police RPG. There are some things to iron out, sure, but wow. Love it so far. Who comes up with the calls? Do players just add them?

I know you can "add case" - and put in your own details and location of occurrence , and submit it, then work off that just like you would a "dispatched" call.

So far I've added all the calls. However once the dispatcher stuff is complete they will have the ability to add new calls. I may also allow anybody to submit a request for police assistance to dispatchers (as if they're members of the public calling in).

Sounds great. I first saw the test site many months ago and it was pretty cool, but it has become quite a bit more detailed. Keep up the great work!

EDIT:

Is the database of names going to be expanded with something like the LCPDFR name generator? The same poor people are being ticketed every single day they drive their cars! LOL :) Also, sometimes I generate a name of somebody to arrest and they are already serving a sentance. Perhaps after they are arrested they are pulled out of "active" list of names? I have no idea if that is possible, but its a thought. Just love this thing Braveheart!

Yes and yes, eventually.

Duster911 - is it still down? It's working for me. It's likely you may have sent more then 2000 requests in 24 hours which results in a 24 hour ban which I have no control over...it's happened to be so many times whilst testing new things what with constantly refreshing the pages. Try using a proxy for a day.

A further note on the site, I have some very good news which I'll let everyone know of once it's complete.

How exciting!!! It's impressive how quickly you're adding to this project.

No its been back up.. It was down for "ME" for about 6 hours..

So the 2000 requests.. If I do "alot" of stuff on the site, i'll get "banned" by your host for 24 hours, if i reach 2000?

Need some space on my servers? lol

Keep up the great work, and yes above is a joke..

From what I know, until all of the mysql errors are fixed.. no, what ever you put when you made your account, is what it will be for now...

This of course is not an "official" response..... So dont take it as an official answer.. Just from my experience.

Duster911

Right on, thanks man. This is still a very cool program, i enjoy using it.
