Hey guys, I was talking to ineseri  about finding a cool game on steam. So we were talking about games I said things about Arma 2 and he said how about standalone meaning DAYZ. Well he gave me a link to it on steam, I got to say wow! it looks great. But before I get it I want to ask you guys what do you think about the game? Have any of you played it? It is so worth buying. I been playing the DayZ Mod for about almost two years and I love it. This game has a lot of cool things from guns to vehicles and so much stuff. The cool thing about this game is there are over like 15 different mods and a few different maps to play on. It really gives you a cool experience about surviving and can be very hard at sometimes but when you play for a little it gets very easy and you get used to it. If you do get the game I recommend you play the mod Overwatch. the Overwatch mod gives a lot of things that differ from a regular DayZ server. In this mod, they added a ton of guns, very cool plugins and a lot more like spawning random bases with gear. I can't even list how much stuff is in that mod.  Again it is very worth buying. 

 

Also I've been starting up a server with my friends and I so when we get everything ready I'm going to make a post about it.

I've been playing DayZ from Steam for a few weeks and I think the concept is awesome however, if none of your friends play the game it can get rather boring as there isn't really a goal other than survive. If you have friends to play with then it's really fun and there's more you can do. 

 

Conclusion - The game really shines if you have a companion and is definitely worth it. If you have no friends (...) to play with then there is only so many hours of fun you will get out of them game, but if you have the money to, buy it and see what you think of it.

 

Also, I didn't play it much, but I think there's a lot more to do such as build and drive vehicles on the Arma II mod version rather than Arma III.

Yea the friend thing is true.

I've been playing the DayZ Steam Alpha for a few weeks now, I haven't played the Arma II mod. 

 

Indeed I agree with everything above. It's an excellent game especially for an Alpha, a little buggy with items and other misc. stuff here and there. Without friends or a clan, it can not only be boring, but extremely dangerous.

 

Of the main ways to die (Nature, Zombie, Supplies, Other Players) the other players category is the biggest threat. Being on a high populated server in a city with nobody around to protect you is just asking for it, there's always bad apples who will shoot on sight. Zombies, Supplies, and Nature (Like breaking legs, getting sick) are less of an issue. 

 

I'm part of a clan that helps noobs and hunts down bandits who kill those people. It's a great experience working with players like that. (Pro tip: Use Skype, Team Speak, Mumble ect, never ever use ingame chat if at all possible).

Remember the mod does have a learning curve vs the standalone...right now the mod has more stuff to do also..try dayz epoch a mod of dayz mod..lol

Sorry to double post but i want everyone to know this "A funny story" *Also sorry moderators but i wanted people to see the review of the game.*

  Today after myself and RCMPCarter buying DAY Z mods we find Mr.Quiggles. He asks hey do you want to play some DAY Z. And we say sure lets go play, *now talking about in game* So we were just randomly playing in game. The RCMPCarter just dies randomly in game. We think he just fell down the stairs which is what he thinks to but wow falling down the stars can be dangerous! That was pretty funny, So after regrouping about 15 min later. We stay in the town and find some cools things in the towns like m4's vests, clothing, equipment, safety items, foods and drinks! Even though its in beta its worth buying atm the game is stable reliable and perfect for a alpha. Mr.Quiggles was our awesome supporter in game like showing us around, finding equipment and other cool features in game! Thanks Mr.Quiggles *No Mr.Quiggles did not die nor did i srgt.scales, just RCMPCarter.* Also special thanks to ineseri for telling me about this awesome mod! Yes there are some glitches but hey its worth it! DayZ Standalone: I like it, I love it, I play a-lot of it! 148 hours........ -_-

Never really tried it.

But i watch PaulSoaresJr (aka PaulieOnTap) playing it on Youtube.

Seems like a good Game/Mod

Been playing the DayZ Standalone Alpha for a couple of days now.

 

Quite fun overall, I tend to avoid fully populated servers so I can continue to gear up without *to* much of a threat of getting zapped going into a major town.  It IS an Alpha so there are some glitches here and there but overall its entertaining and will only get better as they add more models, tweak things here and there.

 

Fireman's axe is your friend! One hit kills on Zombies makes surviving that much easier.

 

Great purchase!
