I'm Not Really Into the Liberty City Roleplay

Featured Replies

Still shamelessly using the default cars myself, whoops.

Never used anything but LC though.  No matter if it was an LVMPD car or an NYPD one, they all had NY and LV changed to LC.  It's just wrong to have anything but LC in LC in my opinion.

  • No. It might be based off of New York City, but it isn't New York. It's Liberty City. It contains nothing at all that says "New York"; everything says LC. Whatever you do, the game still considers it

I personally have looked past the fact that the city is based off of NY, you can't change that so I just moved on.  I personally try to get everything else as close as possible though.  For example, I've changed bus skins, fire department skins, etc all to Portland, Oregon based stuff.  I really try to be as realistic as possible to the department/area I'm trying to emulate.  Also another reason I don't do the NYPD/LCPD thing is that I'm not a huge fan of the NYPD for some reason... Don't really know why.  Could be their cars, I have a hatred for the Impala, sorry but I do.

I could never do anything *but* LCPD. It's not actually possible to completely change the game from talking about LCPD to talking about someone else, so my hand is somewhat forced in the matter.

I see what u mean but couldn't you do the NYPD since its basically based of new York. that would be the closest thing to a realism clan!

No. It might be based off of New York City, but it isn't New York. It's Liberty City. It contains nothing at all that says "New York"; everything says LC. Whatever you do, the game still considers it the LCPD. Billboards say "Join the LCPD". Police stations have the LCPD logo. Cops shout "LCPD! Pull over!" Even gameplay elements don't match up with NYPD; real NYPD patrolmen do not carry shotguns, ever (it's restricted to ESU and detectives who serve warrants; the idea is that quick massive backup makes heavy weaponry unnecessary, as dozens of cops and a SWAT team are never far away). It isn't the NYPD, and nothing can make it the NYPD.

In my game I use a combination of Liberty City PD, New Liberty SP, Alderney City PD, New Alderney SP as my primary departments and other liveries based around geographically correct 'lore friendly' departments (no LAPD etc...). I do adapt supplied/downloaded suitable liveries to fit vehicles I wish to use.

Cheers.
