  • They could at least have sent one dedicated to LCPDFR.com, for extending the fun, and therefore life, of the game, as well as increasing their sales... -.-"

  • that's why I bought a ps3 and traded in the xbox....online is free nuff said...will be handy for watch dogs but idk if that has an affect on price on the xbox

Those screenshots make me want to buy a PS3/Xbox to get the game when it comes out. I can't wait for it on PC

I would recommend PS3 as xbox live for 360 is only supported for 3 more years I am in precess of switching at the moment

Guessing PSN support for PS3 will go down in a similar fashion. And you will still be able to play online with Xbox360 I believe!

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

Yea, I'm going to have to break down and buy one also.  Never owned one since the Sega Genesis (I think that was the name back in '92 or so).  Always been a PC gamer since the good old days.

So, Hoss or anyone who knows; I have no idea what I should be looking at.  You're saying to pickup a PS3 then instead of XboX360?  Is there a particular PS3 I should be looking at (like Xbox has the 250gig upgrade...something like that, I guess...) or just a new PS3 with controllers and shit.

Remember, price is no object, so lay it on me; the best console on the market for GTAV and RDR.

EDIT:  I googled this subject last night...and oh boy...more flame wars than anything.  I'm just looking for a practical answer of which one is the one to buy for GTAV.

Thanks for the advice in advance.

On a side note, if you want to play Red Dead Redemption, keep this in mind:

PS3: 640p only, less vegetation, missing shadows, but one more gang hideout (it doesn't make much of a difference)

Xbox 360: 720p (like most open world games), more vegetation - overall, the game looks better on this console with absolutely no framerate penalty

In addition, that extra gang hideout was added for the Xbox 360 on the GOTY Edition of RDR.

Really? I bought this edition a few months ago (the old disc had been scratched by a "trusted" person) and I've never noticed it has been added. That must be why that achievement wouldn't unlock...

I don't know if it came with an achievement, maybe it did...

Cool, thanks for the good info guys.  Down to earth answers.  I do not play online, so looks like the XboX for me then, since it's a more powerful machine apparently.

One more question; should I grab the 250gig upgrade for the Xbox  (what is it...upgraded hard drive?), or just go with the standard version.
