    Thanks everyone.   And people, please, lets stay on the topic... this is not a discussion for car/brand copyright ;) I already stated that we will not use it.   @Bravuogn Never o/   Cheers

    Thanks Dark. We will have more news very soon, I just made a new post on our webpage and I really want to show you this ;)

They wouldn't be able to use a straight up vapid either because of rockstar. I'm sure they'll be able to clone the CVPI somehow, everyone has been able to one way or another.

I don't mean use the Vapid Police Cruiser, I mean do the same thing that Rockstar did. Make a car similar to the CPVI.

"Work and ideas get stolen, then you keep moving on doing your thing."

they can't due to copyright reasons

They can actualy, provided it has THREE significant changes. So, for instance. Different trunk shape is one. Shorter hood is two. Different shaped doors is three.

Rebadge it? Bingo

Or just do Carbon Motors cars, the E-7 was it? That hideous thing

Hey guys, thanks for the tips.

Don't worry about copyrights, for sure we will not break any. And we will use models based on real ones, without problems :)

There is already a new car, the new video this weekend you will it and, in the future, we will have more.

Cheers

Sounds interesting, nice job ! And Unity is a solid engine/framework, I hope you'll port this game on Linux as Unity is now available on this OS.

But, on a side note, I'm not sure that it's a good idea to use real-life cars, I mean yes that's cool, but maybe you'll have some problems as you don't pay a license to use brands & models.

Keep up the good work :)

If the game is free, then it can fall under the fair use law.

~Also waiting for the game :p gonna be fun

I literally cannot wait for this, it looks awesome!

Just curious will there be tools such as OC spray or batons available as development moves along?

And just a minor suggestion that I've always thought was cool in games was the ability to "make" your own character. Not to the super extent that a game such as Skyrim, but just the ability to mix and match things like hair and skin tones or what have you.

Looks great :D

Only thing i saw negative...the animations still look a bit harsh...but it's an indie game developed by 2 (?) People...soo i can undertand not everthing is looking like in a AAA Game :)

Thanks guys :)

@Hilth0

Graphics and visuals polish will be for later, we want to focus now in the main system mechanics and features ;)

@securitasguard

I want to make many things that helps the game to feel real deep in imersion, so yes, I plan to add the tools an officer has, a swat has and a police car has :)

@taximan5

Agree :) We want to improve this with time.

Cheers

So how would a typical game session start, would you be in a home and off duty? Say I wanted to take a day off from being a cop and just explore the city, could I do that?

Okay, let's assume I can and I'm in a store buying food and it gets robbed, I can stop that being an off duty cop or?

So say I go and be a cop for six or seven hours, I go home, wha then? Could I turn around and go back for another shift?

Callouts,are they random or preset? What about doing your own thing, being a 'bad cop', could I for instance handcuff somebody then hit them with a baton to make them move?

I definitely support your idea. It would be great to be able to play a little similar to lcpdfr and GTA IV: Being a cop, but with the choice to go "off-duty" and do some "normal" everyday activities like car washing, refueling your car, go eat something, etc.

@xandeck: Are you planing a rather rural setting with several smaller towns and villages, all linked by highways and small roads? If so this would be a great contrast to GTA IV and as good as GTA V... So maybe you could start with one town and then continously add new map parts with new places to go.

But with more interaction yes, not just IV's level of...'ooh shiny city' but you can't do a lot with it.

I would love for you devs to spend time making bits of the city usable really, maybe a diner to eat at, or a store to buy food or stuff for your virtual home at (i.e. if you buy food for home then you can eat in and save money, but if you have a fridge you can keep food longer).

Say I decide to go out in civilian clothes after my shift is over, I can take my own car and go explore the city if buyable or ownable cars are in. So let's say I go to a restraunt and eat, I can then drive around the city more. Or if my other needs are low, ways to fulfil them, working out for strength for instance, or talking to people on the street/online or reading a book for social.

Though, I do know features wind up cut for whatever reason myself, but I'm keen to see where this goes.

Camera angles. Is it locked to third person only? IMO a first/third switch like Skyrim or Fallout 3 would be a nice idea to add in once everything major is done.

Also, I do think a nice mode for the 'career' if that's the right word would be starting off as a civilian before you even apply to the academy, that way if you want to stay a pure civilian you can, but you know you can apply to the academy to be a cop (and start the game proper)

Now my thoughts on the trailers. I watched them both and they look good, saw a few ropey animations here and there but overall it's looking great

You said exactly what I was thinking! For a start one private home/house, a super market, a diner, a petrol station and a police precinct would be enough. Then they could add more of it and new stuff (cinema, park, hotdog stand, café/bar, car shop, police training "camp" etc.)
