Malware warnings on mod sites

Featured Replies

Do not be fooled. there is a recent attack on eurotruck simulator  2 mod site's too!.

This is true. I've had multiple "quarantines" from my antivirus on those sites. Be aware.

I've had the problem on GTA mod sites like the OP said.

Even in Google Chrome Icognito using avast! sandbox, based on some diagnostics I ran of the code, there appears to be HTML injectors that are commonly used with "drive-by" attacks. I wouldn't go there for the next few days as it could lead to some very nasty infections.

Seems that when I go to the GTA4Mods site with IE the past few days, something on that site is trying to run.  I just deny the app from running and everything seems fine.   With Chrome I can't proceed at all.

Something is fishy at that site for sure.

I've seen this as well, I personally just left the site alone until it no longer had that warning, no point in risking it downloading something on your computer, as it wouldn't be impossible for somebody to get access to that site in order to upload a virus. Better safe than sorry for me I guess.

I had it but now its gone somehow

if your replying to me Please @0taku or Quote me so I get a notification

After running another diagnostics test on a virtual machine, diagnostics now come back with a ZeroAccess Rootkit in addition to the HTML injections used in the "drive-by" attacks. Definitely recommend refraining from gta4-mods.com.

I'm getting the warning in Chrome on both websites as well.
