Ubisoft presents The Crew

I don't know what to think about this for the moment.

- Ubi is promising the entire US as a map... 17x the size of our (Ubi and me) country, I really doubt it !

- The gameplay is not, really not, like the trailer. For me it looks like a Carmageddon HD (look at collisions for example) :/

- I love Ubi but Ubi loves bugs in games too, imagine how much it can be bugged in an openworld game which is so big (if the size is true).

As I said, I love Ubi (it's french, it's a big company, and they make quite good games, plus Rayman was my first game on PS1 -but not my first game- during my childhood), but it's not because I love them that I will blindly trust all the promises.

Look Rockstar with the crappy PC GTAIV port, RDR cancelled on PC, etc... I love(d?) them but they do shit sometimes.

Anyway, conclusion : I think it's too early to have a clear opinion about this new IP. But I hope that it'll be a good game, and not a copy of the latest shitty NFS.

Sorry for my english, an entire week of E3, I'm a bit tired lol.

Disappointment. Coming from the studio which has developed the Driver saga, I actually hoped them to bring us a new Driver. The only thing I like is the whole USA map, which can apparently free roaming, with a time of traveling from the East to West Coast in two hours. That and the 1967 Chevy Impala seen in the gameplay (finaly my favourite car in a videogame :D). I really don't like these NFS style races, with ridiculously modified cars and challenges.

However, this could be the beginning of a new style of motor games, with these immense maps. Just think about these, for example, trucking simulators where you can travel across the whole USA but with great graphics and therefore something to look at, unlike in the previous games.

I just hope The Crew give us the chance to free roam with stock vehicles, out of the challenges; calmy, to enjoy both the driving and landscape. Then I might consider about purchasing it.

The trucking games were always on PC and severely limited by budget, it's a relatively small developer from the Czech republic that has made all the trucking games.

It's not a game I'm interested in at all. I love racing games, however I usually stay away from arcade racers.

I am however very excited to see that game developers are looking elsewhere than just graphics with the new generation of consoles, I hope we'll see even bigger open worlds in a couple of years once developers know how to push the new generation of consoles, it'll be nice to see if they can improve games other than making more detailed models and higher resolution textures. It'll be interesting to see how much they can improve AI and other aspects of games with the new technology.

I'm pretty sure you're forced to upgrade your vehicle if you want to progress though the game, I remember it being so with the old NFS:Underground games and it'll probably be same here.

I think this game looks really good. The ability to fully customize your car, having the whole US as the map (you guys above me seem to think it will be actual size...obviously it will only be selected cities, highways, countryside with dirt roads, etc. Not like exactly the same as driving across the US in real life), police chases. The main thing I don't like is it being an online game where it's really based on having a group of friends to play with or something (don't they realize gamers don't have friends? lol). Jokes aside, these games with "crews" don't usually appeal to me since I don't like to join a group of people who actually play at the same time (hence why I don't join a GTA IV MP clan). I want to play when I want to play, not when always when you do. Of course, I'm sure you could use random people on at the same time as you but I'd rather stick with friends than some random person.

The only thing which i think sucked was that there weren't any more police cars than crown vic's. When they drove into the desert i was expecting a San andreas type "rancher" following this,

Bytheway is this the game where you can play as a cop online?

I know its a bit offtopic, but the only thing I am looking forward to from E3 (Ubisoft) is 'The Division'.
