Multiplayer Question (handling.dat and vehicles.img)

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

With my update on my Windows 8 multiplayer problem, I've been playing multiplayer for a bit.

However, people on my screen jump all over the place.

One minute they're next to my car, next minute they're half a block ahead of me.

I was told by someone I play MP with, that the handling.dat files need to be the same for everyone, along with the vehicles.img

Is this accurate?

With multiplayer all mods should match up. This is the way I understand it

You have two computers in one server, both of them are modded differently. So YOUR computer is trying to run all your mods across the server and his are doing the same as well. So you have conflicting scripts and data which can cause severe issues. (Like I said, this is just what I've personally been told by a few people and it seemed to have been true. Perhaps someone with more knowledge on modding could confirm.)

Also, it doesn't hurt to switch files around and match them up to see if they're the problem or not. :) Hope that helped.

Thanks

I'll have to try the handling.dat and vehicles.img thing tomorrow

I know all our mods are the same.

Only different one might be that I have ELS V6 and he may have ELS V7

My Dad and I tried joining a server with him running V6 and me V7 and it was instantly kicking each other out. You might want to try matching the ELS before you go into the handling and vehicles. (Only saying that because switching the versions of ELS is a lot quicker than messing with vehicles, not my much but yeah.)

To have a more stable game of Multiplier you all need the same Vehicles.img also if the Handling lines and Vehicles.ide

for a more stable Game. Also in your Main menu go to Graphics and make sure your Vehicle Density is the same. That

is your traffic spawner also it that is not the same then Vehicles are going to be driving Krazzy etc.

Handling lines don't matter.

Your friends will just notice that your car is more responsive

Proof: I use custom handling lines whilst my friend still has the default ones, all it does is give me a faster car to resemble the model (CVPI, Charger etc.)

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake

Yupp, and if you use vehicles.img mods, while others don't have EXACTLY the same stuff like you, then they'll crash out with GTA IV Fatal Error: SMPA60/SMPA50.

Vehicles.img mods should only be used with friends on a private server, where all of you have the same cars.

You can use handling mods or vehicles.ide mods, it won't matter a thing.

Yea, that's happened to people before.

For instance, my Ruiner is a Trans Am, and on someone else's screen it is a Camaro
