Hello everyone,

 

I have spent the last day and a half looking for a solution for a problem that is quite annoying. I have ELS v7 installed, lcpdfr, traffic flow, and some custom vehicles. I do not have any ENBs or any other graphical enhancing mods. I had gta working decent enough with crisp, clear els lights before I decided to do a complete reinstall of the game. Now that I have installed everything the ELS lights are extremely blurry. Instead of looking like lights it looks like cotton candy. I have tried using in game graphic settings to change it including the P button and I have used the default visualsettings and the one that came with the els v7 mod with no success. I even tried the settings from the radience mod with no success. So now I am stuck not knowing how to make the lights clear again. The els v7 impala i downloaded from the site here looks more clear than the other cars I have but I just don't understand how it was working previously and now it isn't. It is unplayable because I cannot get over the fact of cotton candy looking lights. I'd appreciate any and all help.

 

On a side note: Does anyone know where I can read more about the spotlight mod. For some reason it started failing to work before the resinstall and after.

 

*I do have a backup of all original files that I modify but even with default settings this doesn't work.

i am quite sure that i am not using the ELS v7 visualdats even though it is the last thing i installed.

 

I vaguely recall having that issue when trying out ELS v7 the very first time.

 

This is out of left field because i dont really know how enbs work or the dats.   Try finding the visualdats from one of your previous graphic mods....  or from game4video.   But don't install game4video because it does tax my system quite a bit.   JUST the visualSettings.dat !

I'm not really sure but hasn't the timecyc got something to do with that? Try replacing those with the default ones. (I'm not sure, probably won't work but it won't hurt to try)

Lets be clear
-Default GTA IV settings with ELS v7 is blurry
-Default GTA IV with ELS v7 visualsettings.dat is blurry
-Using a radience mod with ELS v7 is still blurry

 

Previously the first time I ever used els v7 it was perfect. I installed ELS v7 and used the visualsettings they provided. For some odd reason it is no longer working. Its a huge blurry cotton candy ugly light model.

 

There has to be a setting somewhere that is causing this. I don't know what else could cause these issues.

 

 

EDIT: the ambulance comes into view...my lights are light that just blurry and I do not have any mods on.

Open up "visualsettings.dat" scroll down to "# Other emissive lights" and change "car.defaultlight.emissive.on" to 10.00.

Now change "car.defaultlight.emissive.off" to 0.05.

 

[Edit] If this doesn't work go into ELS and find the data for the vehicle you have the problem with and check to see if the value "Halogen" =1. If it does change it to 0"

You're not being a 100% clear on this? Are you using a vanilla visualsettings.dat?

Could you post a screenshot?

Open up "visualsettings.dat" scroll down to "# Other emissive lights" and change "car.defaultlight.emissive.on" to 10.00.

Now change "car.defaultlight.emissive.off" to 0.05.

This fixed it. Really appreciate it. Hope this helps others.

My other emissive lights were set like you guys said however where do I find  value "Halogen" =1
