Could something like traffic flow be integrated with RC3?

Featured Replies

Pretty much all of us suffer from the city bug (where almost all of the cars are police cars and taxis), and all of us pretty much hate it. Why? Because you're just pulling over taxis all day long!! There's no variety or anything like that. There is an amazing script (Traffic Flow) that fixes the issue and that personally, is one of my favorite mods. But wouldn't LCPDFR be 100 times better if the functions of that script already came with LCPDFR? You could either script the traffic flow city big thing yourself, or you could get in contact with the developer of traffic flow and ask him to have the permission to implement it into the next version of LCPDFR (which we are all patiently waiting for). It's just a thought, but I think it would be great because it saves the hassle of looking for it and installing it. Plus, some people don't even know about it.

SCNG FTW!!

The problem with that is, some people use LCPDFR to play multiplayer games and traffic flow scripts are reported to cause crashing issues in multiplayer games.

Yeah, that's a problem. I, in my own clan, do not permit the use of mods like traffic flow because it not only crashes people but it also spawns cars randomly in multiplayer because of how the script works and how also, how multiplayer games don't apply to the city bug issue.

Plus there are better traffic fix mods out there.  Chikmaru Real Traffic and Traffic Load for example use all 80-90 cars, not the same 20 cars over and over like Traffic Flow.  Plus Traffic Flow always spawns cars and traffic on the beach or in alleys...even on the boardwalk, Coney Island, in Bohan there is traffic.

Just depends if your system can handle them, as the alternatives use more resources.

Good day,

This might not be such a great idea as you think. Yes it will be a better solution to the taxi bug. BUT it will cause mutil player matches to not work because mod like traffice folw makes the MP traffic go crazy

Things that aren't integral to the workings of LCPDFR should probably be kept separate. It allows for more control by the end user, and less for the devs to worry about when they work with the script.

Yea I'm in a clan,  traffic flow and dash-cam make mine an other people games to play up. that's why the developer did not add the traffic flow in the 90.1 and 92 RC2.

-they still can add the script for those that not do/play MP :woot:

The "taxi bug" only appears if you're using modded cars -> LCPDFR doesn't install modded cars -> there's no reason LCPDFR should fix a bug it's not creating.

Seriously, LCPDFR was concepted to run on a vanilla copy of GTA IV. If it runs on a vanilla copy, there won't be any taxi bug.

Now if some users feel the need to run the game with high poly car models, then they should bear the consequences for it and not try to force additional lines of code onto players who don't need them.
