Bowlers?

Featured Replies

So I just had a random thought, does anybody here bowl? So, do you guys?? I bowl in 2 leagues and for my High School Varsity team. I know it isn't a sport but still, I have fun! So post here if you are, tell us your average (if you want) and your high game, maybe your equipment too!

My averages:

Leagues: 140

High School Varsity: 165

Equipment:

Strike Ball(s): Columbia 300 Violent Eruption (15lbs)

                      Columbia 300 FlipsideWOW (15bs)

Spare Ball: Brunswick T-Zone (14lbs)

It just runs in my family. Lol. That's the main reason why I do it. My dad was really good then stopped. His dad was a pro for a while then blew out his knee. So I figured why not, I'll try it, and I was pretty good so I kept with it. Although it is fun to go with friends and watch their reactions when I whoop them. Haha

I bowled a little bit when I wsa young.

Went bowling next to these old people once when I was like 7 and the bowling ball kept going into their lane cuz I wasnt "professional" at the time.

They got pissed and called management. Myself and my mom got moved to the far corner of the bowling place where I could only hit the wall and a bumper on the other line... :(

The best part was that I apparently asked my mom "why that grandma was so grumpy" as we walked past them to the new lane."

Safe to say I dont bowl....

I worked at a bowling alley for a second job while I was in college for a few years and bowled on a couple leagues. I best season average was a 194 and my best game was a 289. My season went to hell and I took a break and it was about the same time I stopped working at the alley so I haven't really looked back, that was 2 years ago. I use all 15lb balls except my spare ball is a 12lb. I have a Big Bang (big time roller), Hy-road (gets alot of lenght before hooking in), Messanger (oldie but always a goodie, roller set up), Razor (great end game/dry lane ball), and a Black Widow Bite (great ball when I got it, but I think the core shifted which is common with them). I'm a cranker, I use a partial thumb style and use a 5 step approach, while not ideal it worked for me.

I consider it a sport, it requires alot of balance, coordination, focus and control. If you don't have a good combination of both then the ball will never got the same way twice, making your game eradict. When I first started I would have a 220 game followed by a 150 game and then a 180 game, by the season before my last most of my games stayed in the 180-210 range with some off nights and great nights mixed in. My last season I won't talk much about, I was playing on the Red, White, Blue patterns and I did not have fun and decided to take a break. I would like to get back into again one day sooner or later.

This is a signature, not a good one, but one that's needed

I go bowling with Roman in GTA IV. Does that count?

In real life, it's been about 5 years since I've gone bowling for real. I was never really good.

i became pretty good because he calls me every 5 secs and wants to go bowling.

I haven't bowled in years, last time I did, it was with my sister and her two lady friends. I wore way too much deodorant, so I smelled like an Axe Rainforest.

I don't remember what my score was..lol.

I've had my fair share of mishaps. I've gone down the lane many times with my ball. Haha. But roman annoys the hell outta me. He either calls me to go to a strip club, a bar, or to go bowling. Lol. So I'm pretty good at driving drunk on there. Haha

Pub > Bowling > Meal? If it were me it's be Bowling > Meal > Pub > Pass out. haha.

Are you talking about 5 or 10 pin? Personally I prefer 10 pin bowling, as when I lived in England I never heard of 5 pin until I moved out here. I've never been part of a team/league it was always for fun, and I enjoyed it. I've considered joining a team, but I never thought I was good enough for competition play, and I prefer to keep it just casual.
