Regarding Pursuits and AI Backup

Featured Replies

Using .95 RC2 ...

Got into a pursuit, and just as it began we passed an oncoming AI CVPI. It immediately joined the pursuit, even though I had not requested backup. Pursuit goes on for about 90 seconds. In that 90 seconds I was joined by no less than 16 AI CVPIs. At no point did I request backup. A minute after the pursuit ended, I counted a total of 26 CVPIs clustered around my car. For the next 5 minutes after pulling away from the scene, all other traffic (even in other areas) was just CVPIs.

My CVPI is hosted in the police.wtd / wtf slot.

Just wondering if there is a way to limit the number of backup units responding, or to cancel backup in game? Maybe a script change? It kinda ruined the fun.

I have yet to install TrafficFlow, not sure if that will alter anything.

Thanks for your input.

That's really odd... I have never heard of that happening. It might have been just a rare game glitch. If it doesn't happen again, than that was what it probably was.

That's your problem right there. If you use high polygon count car mods without any sort of traffic moderation mod, then you'll get almost nothing but taxis, gang cars depending on what region you're in, and police cars. TrafficFlow helps to diversify the traffic you get (to a degree). That being said, I've never had that many AI cars aid me, ever, even before I knew about TrafficFlow. I've had probably about a dozen at the very most.

Haha yea I've had it too. It's kinda funny but kinda annoying at the time. Especially when you're trying to arrest the person in the car and all that happens is them driving at a high rate of speed slamming into you.

Yeah, I started to get out of my car to make the arrest but had to get back in to keep from getting mauled by all the cars flying at me. Will install trafficflow tonight. I assume since there were so many "police" spawning they just all responded since they were in the area.

As an aside, curious if any of you can recommend an ENB that won't destroy my FPS? I'd love to get one, but there are so many choices, no idea where to start.

FPS are pretty solid right now, still would rather play the game smoothly than have an ENB if that's what I'd have to do.

When I see some of these ENB videos on youtube I imagine these guys must be running the game on a $4,000 setup.

System specs -

i5-2500k (not overclocked yet)

EVGA GTX 560 Ti (also not overclocked yet)

Win 7 64bit

That would be awesome! I need a better computer to be able to use all the mods. I just use LCPDFR right now and nothing else. Everything else just causes my game to crash after a few minutes.

Yeah, I have a mod that severely reduces the amount of cops that spawn (used with Arrest Warrant from GTAForums), but I have TrafficSpawner to balance it out with additional vehicles. I usually never call for backup other than a chopper, so I'm pretty comfortable with not having an entire precinct with me.

I wouldn't suggest using any Traffic altering mod, just play online or LAN and the service vehicles bug is fixed, I never play in singleplayer. Traffic altering mods will lower your game performance.

yeah but not every one wants to play online xD

It's been so long since we've got any updates and fixes. I wonder if the mod actually is still in progress. My EFLC LCPDFR is so buggy, so I kind of desire to a proper working one. Hope to see something very soon. (:

I have the traffic flow mod installed and I have never had any problems like this.

You use F12 during chases, not ALT & B. That's for when you're on foot.
