Who in here is an actual Law Enforcement Officer?

1st you need to be a US civ hint you will need to move to New York City study criminal justice there than apply. No police department will hire in the US if you took your class's out of the States because the laws are different in different country's. Also your going to need to be fluent in English more fluent than French...

To get a green card, it is a year or so progress a kid from my school just moved to the US from England it only took him 6 months because he was from a trusted country and also their parents proved they could be working people....

The only way to get into flying a chopper in the police department is if you are already know how to do it they won't buy the lessons for you or anything. SO hints you will mostly likely have to join the military to learn or fine one of the few people in US that teaches. It will cost some were inbetween $10,000 to $15,000 to learn how to fly one, that's if you are a fast learner. Also it can take years to get a spot with the them.

Intrusters will charge around $70 for ground time and $200 for air time and you need to be a fast learning or that $10,000 will turn into $20,000...

I know, I also want to be a pilot. I like the idea of being a police officer and I've always wanted to be a pilot so I figured a air support unit would suffice. But I know how hard it is, either way one of my goals before I die is to earn a pilot's license and fly.

But even then, the job is already taken and it's like trying to be the pope, you have to wait till something happens for the spot to open up.

  • US Department of Defense. And Yakadafi/EVI/TheThinBlueLine is a deputy, as is Bailey23 (though I just looked, and he actually hasn't been here in months)

Can't just be in swat unless you want to make about $5,000 a year. Also it takes up to 5-10 years to get into the swat team.... Most places you need to be a police officer for 3 years, than also need to be in the top of the top of the department...

To be swat most officers do Police officer than part time swat team member.

i know thats just my main goal i wana be an officer but i dont know what jurisdiction either state trooper, sheriff or the city...went on few ride alongs with some friends but havent got a chance to ride with the sheriff and the state troopers dont have ride alongs anymore

I'm over 21

I have experience in the field working for the law enforcement agency in my city. Currently Military but going back to the field.

Good. So that's a few more than i would think given that this is GTA after all. I suspect the lack of xbox/ps support weeds a lot out.

When i had the choice years ago i went with officer of the court. peace officer would have been more dynamic but you start as jailer with 18k and 20k 2nd year. 1st deputy is like 24 AND up to 32 after 7 years service. That was/is simply income i could not survive on..

I have no regrets although if i were in another better paying area I would have picked the enforcement side. Though I cant complain the view from the office is bad where i am at.

I'm an "Officer" in the Army. And, I conduct 15-6 investigations, all the time. But, I have no actual enforcement powers.

Except in Afghanistan, where we detain various persons of interest all the time. I do plan on going into Federal Law Enforcement in the next year, when my contract with the military ends.

I'm a Police Constable in Dumfies and Galloway Constabulary (Scotland) Soon to be the Police Service of Scotland!

BTW, been here ages, lurking in the shadows....thought I should maybe start posting!

I never planned to be a police officer. I'll stick with my student title in technical science university.

I'm also thinking of going for Toronto Police Services because I love Canada..... and Canadians :) lol but honestly TPS because I always wanted to live in Canada but somewhere that doesn't require French as a primary language since I don't speak french. Just fluent English and Spanish.........and cuz I love Canada lol

You need to be a Canadian Citizen; and believe me it is much costly and time consuming than getting a Green Card.

It's all about what makes you happy right?, I never regretted enlisting at such a young age and going back into the military for two years; although if I had a second chance I'd probably choose something other than Combat Arms. Intelligence or Weapons Tech.

I currently work with an Wilderness Search & Rescue Unit out in Canada, I plan on transfering over to the Toronto Police service.
