Hey guys,

At times when I pull someone over or am in a pursuit my game will just randomly crash, incase anyone asks yes I have run G17 Diagnostics and it does not seem to find any errors in game.

(also my action button for calling taxi's, etc is not working)

Anyone here able to help me with this problem?

What patch are you running for GTA IV? 1.0.4.0? or 1.0.7.0?

What mods are you all running? Any modded cars? Have you tried removing the police car mods if your using them? At least just police and police 2 since those are the main cars that get spawned. I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with the cars you have installed. Like its crashing when its spawning your backup for the pursuits. Not sure why it would do it when you do traffic stops but its worth a try right?

car mods are nsw-comv3, nypd state police, no0se, pontiac g8, k9 police and the mobile command centre (car mods).

Yeah guess I could try that, probably try one car first then replace it with another see what happens I guess.

Don't replace it with another, replace it with the default GTA IV car that belongs in that place. Then after you've fixed it and know which car was the problem, then you can start replacing cars again.

For the pursuits, try editing your ELS file to turn off AI using ELS. That used to randomly crash the game for me sometimes.

I will give that a shot mate, hopefully that works.

Thanks for that, however define what you mean by default? do you mean leave them as lcpd and lcpd noose?

and what do you mean by use fbi as mod slot?

yes he means use the default cars (the cars that come with the game) and use the fbi slot as where you put a mod car.

next time it crashes please post your logs from LCPDFRErrorLogging.txt which is in the root folder (only post the errors that occurred around the time your game crashes)

update: re-installed RC2 and managed to play for atleast 2 or 3 hrs before the game stopped giving me callouts, went to the police station and tried to go off then back on duty, when selecting my car it crashed, I also get less callouts now :S is there a way to fix that?

Don't accept every callout, and also this is a known bug. you can force callouts by pressing Alt+F11, I do it this way and I get plenty of calls :)

*EDIT* And with GTA IV being GTA IV it's bound to crash anyways. It sucks up a ton of RAM.

Ive got 8 GB of RAM and it still crashes alot.
