I hadnt played in a couple years and returned.

I knew there was a couple things I would have to get for complete, enjoyable, realistic, immersive gameplay. ALBO's stuff. arrest manager, police smartradio, TrafficPolicer, and Traffic Control, an of course some callouts.

I did, and began playing however I posted about erratic behavior of arrested peds when using smartradio for transport. they would follow transport officer, get into and immediatly back out of his/her vehicle and come back to me, follow me a ways then dissapear. wacky.

 

a fellow from germany told me to not use arrest manager anymore, use the NEW built in Backup (B) menu.

this new backup B menu and the M menu for a radio are neither well thought out or well done or complete compared to the wonderful stuff from ALBO, Police SmartRadio, and Arrest Manager., and dont do half the stuff. they do backup ok, but close roads doesnt work (for me). ped vehicles drive right thru my scene and over me an God forbid u fire a shot. u know how crazy an stupid those ped ai drivers are. Traffic Control plugin is marvelous and solves this problem so much better, and has roadblocks. THAT WORK.

 

Arrest Manager had/has much much more features than your sad little quickly made an cheesy looking menu in upper left corner. and wheres the Tow Truck??. or Coroner??., you dont have a Tow Truck. OMG.

that was all implemented and integrated and worked like gravy with ALBO's PoliceSmartRadio and Arrest Manager, and Traffic policer.  it was beautiful. well thought out and done. and so cool the radio pops up on the screen and does everything- tied into Arrest manager and Traffic Policer. Your little B backup menu is sad sad sad in comparison. immersion and roleplaying breaking.

 

Im sticking with PoliceSmartRadio and Arrest manager for my game. the wacky ped behavior at Transport I can overlook because I get SOOOoooooo much more and better, more immersive gameplay AND functionality & options with them than your B backup menu. AND a Tow Truck. AND Coroner. AND Roadblocks, and breathalyzer, write parking tickets, drugalyzer, SpeedChecker Radar Trap, mimic my driving to pull people over (Ctrl R), I can Tackle people with Arrest manager, and manage the whole scene with H. I can set Police and Tow Truck and Coroner to go thru roadblock to get to my scene, and more an more an more.

to give up the functionality and options of PoliceSmartRadio, andArrest manager, and TrafficPolicer/TrafficControl to use your sad incomplete little gta-inspired menus because arrested peds act a little wacky?.  OK with me. Total worth it.

 

I beg you to re-visit this menu system. make it work with smartradio, more complete, and functiona,l and immersive inspiring or at least give me a way to opt out or shut it off and use plugins.

The LSPDFR team works very hard and the mod is amazing as it is. Making mods is not easy. I did not have the same issues that you were having when I first played LSPDFR 0.4 alone.

 

I highly recommend Stop The Ped, Ultimate Backup and all of the other mods Bejoijo has developed. They are excellent. Arrest Manager is not needed when you have Stop The Ped.

 

The point of this LSPDFR community (and modding in general) is to allow players to customize their game to their liking. Remember, these are mods, and it is beyond amazing that we can even do such things with them.

 

We really should be grateful for the people that make these mods. Pointing fingers and blaming won't solve anything-it will just cause more trouble.

All I am gonna say is that the above people have summed it up very well. LSPDFR is meant as a base element for people to expand upon. And like the others have said, I suggest using the plugins BejoIjo made. I have seen them in action and they are a god send.

I see the main point of the "basic menu" as a starting point for new players and when they feel more comfortable with adding plugins and modding, they can move to BejoIjo to get more of an in-depth experience.

This.  The LSPDFR devs believe firmly in letting the community run wild with various additions and enhancements.  Over a slow period of time I'm sure certain things might get added that some plugin has, but for the most part the devs want to make it so the community can contribute to LSPDFR.

Exactly! Being able to add what mods we want to LSPDFR is what makes it so great. We have this website for a reason... to collaborate, share, comment on each other’s mods, be able to share mods etc

their new M and B menus interfere/corrupt/clash/crash with many plugins. theyre redundant and unneeded. 

example- BVA. Lt. Caines better vehicle actions. their vehicle settings are doing the same thing it does, only like with traffic policer and arrest manager and policesmartradio their redundant  un-needed menus only serve to duplicate complicate much better and more complete plugins.

Trust me, nobody is hating. We are only pointing out that those menus were designed to be used with just the base LSPDFR. Once you get either Bejo's or Albo's plugins, you shouldnt need to use them anymore and they can be disabled.

Again, this goes back to being able to disable the menus. You can disable menu keys via the keys.ini. Its not that difficult to do and that way it prevents any clashing with other menu keybindings.

The main point is that they were design to be used with base LSPDFR only, if you had no other form to call backup.

LCPDFR and LSPDFR have always been a base platform intended to be built off of. Back in the early LCPDFR days, we only had two types of callouts - Domestic Disturbances, and Pursuits.

 

Developers made their own callouts to add on to that. The same applies now with what you mentioned.

I don't understand what you're asking. It sounds like you want LSPDFR to add better compatibility with certain plugins? That's backwards. Those plugins are addons to LSPDFR, they should be the ones being made compatible with the mod they are made to work with. Asking for LSPDFR to be more compatible with them is like asking Rockstar to make GTA V more compatible with LSPDFR.

 

LSPDFR is designed to work and play on it's own, without the need for any extra mods. If the backup menu was removed, and we said "you need to download Ultimate Backup to request assistance," that defeats the purpose of the mod. If you want to add more depth and interaction, you are free to do so with those other mods.

 

If your only real issue is with the way arrested peds behave, then just arrest them with the built in LSPDFR method instead of using 3rd party plugins to do so. In my opinion, LSPDFR handles arrests way better than those plugins. You can still use those other plugins for whatever you need, just use default LSPDFR functions to actually arrest and transport.
