Dashcam V is a RageHook plugin that simulates emergency vehicle dashcams used in real life.

Note: An unfortunate downside to the method of centering the camera is that you cannot freely rotate it. In terms of immersion, however, it makes sense because most dashcams do not rotate. In light of this, the dashcam no longer replaces the first person vehicle view, so you can use it whenever you desire.

Features
- Grayscale filter: looks like the department's on a tight budget
- Two layouts: a regular dashcam layout and a remake of Sniper296's IVDashCam layout
- Remote view: view your vehicle's dashcam while on foot by pressing Ctrl + E or the Left Thumbstick + Left Shoulder
- Dynamic unit numbers
- Configurable settings: use the .ini file to adjust the following...
    - Unit number/name
    - Department name/colour/logo
    - Imperial/metric
    - Date format
    - Layout style
    - Remote view controls (both gamepad and keyboard)
    - Grayscale filter

Installation
1. Download & install the latest RagePluginHook from http://ragepluginhook.net/Downloads.aspx if you haven't already.
2. Pick a folder. If you like the vanilla agencies, pick lore-friendly. Otherwise, pick real agencies.
3. Drag & drop "DashcamV.dll" and "DashcamV.ini" into the Plugins folder of your GTA V directory.
4. Using OpenIV, place the logos.ytd in update\update.rpf\x64\textures\script_txds.rpf (use your mods folder if you have it).
Find and open the file "startup.rphs". Once you open the file, start a new line and put the following...

LoadPlugin "DashcamV.dll"

This will make the modification automatically load when you start the game. If you do not want the modification to automatically load, launch the game and press F4. Once you see a panel, put in what you see above.

Known Bugs
- When entering a vehicle that you left on dashcam view, your view will reset

Was the speed reading removed from the Dashcam view?

Edit: Nevermind, read old posts and I guess it's only in the IVStyle layout.

Is there a way to remove the minimap when going into dashcam view without having to turn it off in the settings each time I want to use Dashcam view?

I tried to use this mod today but it didn't work. I pressed the key to use the dashcam and that didn't work. I made sure that the plugin was loaded but nothing happend. Please help!

when using with the RDE mod is it Possible to add the 3rd Hwaycar since its not in the .INI, or is it possible to just add extra Copied Coding lines and build it of the hwaycar2  base selection lines

Yeah, you can add a dashcam to any emergency vehicle by just copying an entry and editing it for that car. The next update will include all of RDE's vehicles. But I hate to keep you waiting so here's an updated ini and logos.ytd compatible with the rest of the RDE vehicles.

Note: Make sure you have the RDE LSPDFR addon installed as well.

can you disable the modifier key so you only need to press one key like "A" not Shift A

if i want to use my controller, i can only use the Left D pad but that's reserved for my police radio command

    Hi. Great mod you got here, but I was wondering if there is an option for 4K playing? I'm playing with my game in 4K and it's too centered towards the middle of the screen.

    Can you help me I'm having issues with the mod. It loads perfectly and the remote works fine but I can't get the mod to work when I'm in my vehicle. I can turn it on when I'm outside a vehicle but I can't turn it on when inside a vehicle. Every vehicle I use uses ELS btw I don't know if that's causing the issue, I hope not I love my ELS vehicles. Anyway I'm confused as to why I'm unable to be in the car and drive with the dashcam on. Please help

    Press V to cycle through your vehicle views until you get to the dashcam.
