Dashcam V 2.2.0

Dashcam V is a RageHook plugin that simulates emergency vehicle dashcams used in real life.

Note: An unfortunate downside to the method of centering the camera is that you cannot freely rotate it. In terms of immersion, however, it makes sense because most dashcams do not rotate. In light of this, the dashcam no longer replaces the first person vehicle view, so you can use it whenever you desire.

Features
- Grayscale filter: looks like the department's on a tight budget
- Two layouts: a regular dashcam layout and a remake of Sniper296's IVDashCam layout
- Remote view: view your vehicle's dashcam while on foot by pressing Ctrl + E or the Left Thumbstick + Left Shoulder
- Dynamic unit numbers
- Configurable settings: use the .ini file to adjust the following...
    - Unit number/name
    - Department name/colour/logo
    - Imperial/metric
    - Date format
    - Layout style
    - Remote view controls (both gamepad and keyboard)
    - Grayscale filter

Installation
1. Download & install the latest RagePluginHook from http://ragepluginhook.net/Downloads.aspx if you haven't already.
2. Pick a folder. If you like the vanilla agencies, pick lore-friendly. Otherwise, pick real agencies.
3. Drag & drop "DashcamV.dll" and "DashcamV.ini" into the Plugins folder of your GTA V directory.
4. Using OpenIV, place the logos.ytd in update\update.rpf\x64\textures\script_txds.rpf (use your mods folder if you have it).
Find and open the file "startup.rphs". Once you open the file, start a new line and put the following...

LoadPlugin "DashcamV.dll"

This will make the modification automatically load when you start the game. If you do not want the modification to automatically load, launch the game and press F4. Once you see a panel, put in what you see above.

Known Bugs
- When entering a vehicle that you left on dashcam view, your view will reset

Awesome job, I personally would've moved the view more towards the right (where a dashcam would be irl), but that's just me lol

Can i use this in 3rd person view?

No. It's supposed to simulate dashcams which are on the dashboard of a vehicle.

Pretty neat. Could definitely be more centered, or to the right.

on a side note, amazing how much shit changed from the two games.

    -snip-

Glad to see you noticed the screenshot recreation!

I agree dashcams are usually centered instead of on the left side of the hood. Unfortunately, the vehicle hood cam is just coded like that by Rockstar.

There may be an alternative way to make it centered, though, which I'm looking into.

I agree, working for the department as a volunteer I can confirm that the camera is on the right side just slightly from the rear view mirror... But awesome, a first for this website, awesome job.

I may be being a bit naive about this mod, but is it possible to conduct a traffic stop whilst maintaining the dashcam view? I though I may be able to however when I activate AltQ the character freezes. If it is simply an overlay, then it works perfectly. Nice to see the return of the dashcam.

Yes, just walk up to the car first and then enter remote view when you see the traffic stop menu. Though be aware, if you choose any option in the traffic stop menu, you will exit remote view.

Plugin does not work for me,each time I go into the dashcam view the plugin crashes on me.I am using v2.0

Here is a dump of my console whenever the plugin crash: http://pastebin.com/RuQBG530

I'll look into it but I can't seem to replicate your issue. Try re-downloading the plugin and leave the .ini unedited (if you haven't before).

Just a suggestion, depending on what vehicle we're driving could we have the department on the side somewhere? E.g. LSPD, LSSD etc.

Sure. I'll include it in the next update but it will likely only be on the regular layout.

Hi PieRGud, I am a little confused. Are you able to see the speed in the default view or is it IVDashCam only?
