Cop Holster is an RPH plugin that adds some unique functionality to the police handgun holster. It removes the handgun from the holster if a pistol is a drawn. It also comes with intimidation mode -- a simple feature that allows you to put your hand on your holster. Cop Holster works with both the player and AI officers.

Requirements
RAGEPluginHook 0.23 or higher.

 

Installation
Place CopHolster.dll and CopHolster.xml in your Plugins folder.
When ingame, open the RPH console (default F4) and type LoadPlugin CopHolster.dll.

 

Features

  • Intimidation mode, a feature that allows you to put your hand on your holster. Toggle with Right Shift Key (keyboard) or Left DPad (controller).

Questions
Does this come with RDE support?
The RDE Cop Holster config file is in the RDE 3.1 download.

 

Does this come with EUP support?
Yes. Cop Holster comes with support for EUP 7.5.

 

How does Cop Holster work?
All ped models in GTA have what are called drawables. They are pieces of clothing or equipment that can vary between instances of that model. Many of the default cop models have two holster drawables. One is empty, and one has a pistol. Cop Holster simply changes between those two drawables depending on if you have your pistol drawn or not to give the illusion that you are taking the pistol out of the holster.   


I'm a ped model developer and would like to make my model work with Cop Holster. How would I go about doing that?

Hi! is the intimidation animation accessible? i only found the vanilla one but it doesnt look that good, i am trying to get it on a plugin of mine.

The Mod is great! But when i go to put my gun back in my holster it doesnt appear back in the holster.

I've found success by going to Grand Theft Auto 5 > lspdfr > lspdfr.ini and setting the value "Ambient.DisablePlayerHolsteringActions = false" to true. The holster seems to work fine without issue.

I am confused on why my weapon does not return to the holster when I reholster my weapon. The animation is there however I can not see the model go back into the holster.

In plugins folder, you will have CopHolster.xml file. There you can edit unholstered and holstered prop. CopHolster does not really put your gun in holster, instead replaces one prop with another, e.g. empty holster with holster with gun. EUP Menu can help you out with setting appropriate drawables in .xml file mentioned. And nowadays, you can simply throw it to Gemini/ChatGPT... With this "systematic" explain/find/replace actions, they are quite helpful.

QUESTION so theres been a handfull of times where i would reholster after having to deploy the gun and its not all the time the gun is shown in the holster, is there a way to fix that? cause there will be times when the gun is shown in the holster and theres times where after i deploy it i wont see it until i reload my eup uniform just to show the gun.
