** NOTE REGARDING RPH CRASHES **

If your GTA V crashes to the desktop, and RPH says that the crash was most likely caused by Keep Calm...to put it simply, it most likely was not caused by Keep Calm.

RPH tries to detect which plugin caused the crash by calculating which plugin was running at the time of the crash. Keep Calm runs constantly in the background, so naturally, RPH will think that Keep Calm is the culprit whenever you have a game crash.

GTA V can CTD for any number of reasons. Keep Calm does not do anything heavy enough to cause a game crash...I am not saying that it will never happen, but it has never happened in the history of Keep Calm's development. Anyone who has reported a CTD crash so far has had their issues stemming from elsewhere.

If you get an RPH crash that says Keep Calm was the cause, try un-installing Keep Calm, or disabling it from starting in the RPH settings. If the crashes persist, your issues are being caused by something else.

If the crashes go away, then re-install Keep Calm by downloading the latest release from LCPDFR.com. If the crashes then return, we need to diagnose the issue further, and you should post a comment here (or in the forum topic) so we can look into it.

 

** IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE ENTITY PERSISTENCE MOD!! **

If you use the Entity Persistence mod by FtDLulz, you need to do ONE of two things...

  • If ped persistence is enabled, ensure that it is set to only 'persist' dead peds, not live ones (this is the default setting, to my knowledge)
  • OR...Disable ped persistence entirely
     

If ped persistence is enabled, and set to 'persist' LIVE peds, then Keep Calm will have NO effect at all!! (Not to mention that you will have performance issues if you do that!)

Requirements
You must have at least version v0.41 of the RAGE Plugin Hook installed, LSPDFR v0.3.1, as well as v1.6.0.1 of the Stealth.Common DLL, which is packaged with this release. Keep Calm will check these versions on startup, and will refuse to run if older versions are installed.

You must have a fully legal, non-pirated version of GTA V.

Installation
- Copy the Keep Calm.dll and Keep Calm.ini files into the Plugins folder of your GTA V directory.

- Copy the Stealth.Common.dll file into your main/root GTA V directory.

Features
- Nearby drivers and pedestrians should not panic in the event of gunfire (police officers are excluded)
- Some customization is available via the config file
- Peds spawned by LSPDFR and LSPDFR plugins are excluded, to eliminate conflicts with callout plugins

Usage
- Press the toggle keybind (CTRL + 9 by default) to start/stop Keep Calm
- Keep Calm will start on it's own by default, unless the auto-start is disabled in the config file

Known Issues
Please note that GTA V does not always provide access to every pedestrian and vehicle in the area, and some peds may spawn AFTER the "calming" function has already been triggered. It runs in the background continuously, but each ped has to be modified individually.

As a result, some drivers and pedestrians may still panic in the event of gunfire. This may improve as new versions of the RAGE Plugin Hook are released.

This plugin has been released with the intent of minimizing the panic attacks experienced by the AI.

The panic attacks will NOT be eliminated completely, however, this plugin should hopefully minimize them enough to make the game more enjoyable. The main intent with this plugin is to not have drivers run officers over when they are in the middle of making an arrest after a pursuit.

  • Now calms peds that are on foot as well as in vehicles (police officers, peds in combat, or peds spawned by LSPDFR are excluded)

@BeastyBill88 which Plugin so you use? I dont use so many Plugins. Mayer is there a Problem with Traffic Variety v1.5???

ok i dont know that.

But maybe i solved the problem. I just "deinstalled" the Traffic Variety v1.5. It sounds simple, but that little think just spawn more cars and peds in Los Santos. So keep calm has also work with this. I just use the standard popgroups, popcycle and dispatch from now on. Game works stabil with 60 fps, after a shootout. I dont use this for hours, such a few minutes. Hopefully you guys can use it and your game runs smooth.

I tried it and I'm getting 50 fps in vinewood (hollywood blvd) and the rest 60 fps.

That's normal for Framerape Boulevard, lol. 

So it's not my script, at least not on its own, anyway. You've got something else installed that's conflicting, or making Keep Calm work harder than it should.

I'm also having FPS drops in north Los Santos with this mod enabled. No other mods expect Keep Calm and LSPD:FR, running on RPH .41 (Steam version / 1.0.757.4). FPS drops from around 80 to around 50 as soon as I go on duty at the Vinewood PD/ForceDuty via the RPH console, but as soon as I take the highway that is heading towards Blaine County the FPS goes back to 80. When I return to the north Los Santos area, the FPS drops back to 50.

I've tried this with 2 copies of the game (both Steam & 1.0.757.4), one of them was fully modded (and it really is fully modded, haha. At first I just thought it was all of the mods running at the same causing the FPS issue, but then I checked the comments here and noticed that other people were having similar FPS issues) and the other one that I mentioned above only had Keep Calm & LSPD:FR installed. Both of these copies were running on RPH .41. 

After removing this mod, the game runs fine at the FPS that it should be running at with no issues, no matter the area that I'm in.

I included the RPH log from the Keep Calm & LSPD:FR copy below, I'm not sure if it helps at all but I figured I'd post it in case it would help!

So it's not my script, at least not on its own, anyway. You've got something else installed that's conflicting, or making Keep Calm work harder than it should. 

Ok, I've got arrest manager, custombackup, betterems, lspdfr+, peterUcallouts, searchwarrant, assorted callouts, pursuitonthefly, traffic policer.

Regular plugins are emergencystrobes, gtacomesalive, invincible police vehicle, traffic control.

Any ideas on which one conflicts?

Could be GTA comes alive, but I'm not sure. You don't happen to have the OLD version of Keep Calm installed as well, do you? Remember, it used to be a regular RPH plugin, it's an LSPDFR plugin now. 

@Carrythxd, thanks for the feedback. I'll take a closer look at the Vinewood area, although like I said, everyone who tested it reported having no issues at all. If I can reproduce it, then I'll see what I can do as far as a solution goes.

I'm sure I downloaded the new version that you uploaded recently. I will keep trying to see which conflict it is.

No, but the new one goes in a different directory, plus the file name is different, so it wouldn't overwrite the old one. It will still be there unless you manually uninstalled it.

I have almost the same.  I removed GTA Comes Alive and saw improvement.  It would be great to see what mod was pulling what....perhaps a new mod to do that?  lol

One more thing I just thought of...if the script seems to stutter in certain areas, you can hit the toggle key (CTRL + 9 by default) to pause/stop it, and resume it again later with the same keybind. Its not a solution, but it can help in some circumstances.

I turned off peds calm and reduced the ped search radius to 25. That seemed to really help improve performance. For some reason, turning off CalmPed alone didn't help. I increased the ped search radius to 50 with CalmPed off, and performance declined. Went back to 25, and things were pretty smooth. I got into big firefight with the Ballers. The peds freaked (should have anyway, IT WAS GOING DOWN). Cars kept calm, which was important because I was using my car for cover. No one ran me over, and there was a line.

Massive fps drops with this mod now, for some reason. When removed, at least 30-40fps improvement especially downtown.

Running this on a ridiculous setup, TitanX SLI.

Also kills my FPS when running.  It's fantastic that you continue to update this @Stealth22 and it does exactly what it's supposed to do, but I encourage you to keep looking for ways to optimize it!

First of all @Stealth22 this mod is awesome, it does what it says, keeps people from panicking when shots are fired. But just like many other people, i too can report that FPS drops are massive with this. I had 80-100 fps on ultra settings at 1080p without Keep Calm, 50-60fps with Keep Calm. That's a 30-40fps drop. Not to sound rude, but that's not worth it, in my opinion. And i totally understand why it is like this, i don't blame this mod for anything, it's just not worth the huge fps drop, for me at least.

EDIT: After fiddling around with all of my other scripts and plugins, i found out that my fps is still rubbish, after going on duty, so your script is not exactly the culprit. Apologies. But it's still weird why do i get 70-90fps when not on duty, but as soon as i forceduty my fps drops to 40-50 and when driving at high speeds even to 30. I have an i7 6700, 16gb ddr4 memory and a gtx 1070... It really puts me off playing lspdfr with this kind of performance. Ok sorry, went off topic there, rant over :D

I changed the CalmRadius to

CalmRadius=100

And it seems to work alright.

@Stealth22 is the CalmPedsOnFoot=false working ?

I have lot of framedrops when I enable keepcalm. Seems to be related to peds.

  • KeepCam CalmPedsOnFoot=true (entitypersistence disabled)
    • Peds enabled in trainer = framedrop
    • Peds totally disabled in trainer = smooth
       
  • KeepCam CalmPedsOnFoot=false (entitypersistence disabled)
    • Peds enabled in trainer = framedrop
    • Peds totally disabled in trainer = smoot

 

It seems that KeepCalm will always try to calm peds even if disabled in KeepCalm.ini

Any help ? ^^
