INSTALLATION
1. Using OpenIV, replace the visualsettings.dat in GTA V/update/update.rpf/common/data with the new one supplied in this download.
2. replace the graphics.ytd in GTA V/update/update.rpf/x64/textures

The tutorial from FirstThirtyMinutes is very helpfull. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYWbyPj7Fso (You can find the mod in the description as well) And you maybe need to replace it in multiple files (i needed to do it in Patchday3ng,Patchday5ng and x64e) It works for the sheriff,the undercover car and the normal one.

I've included a link with a report comparing the two files. One contained a clean (but out of date) visualsettings.dat file while the other was the modified file.
 
 
The file is very simple to read.
In between the = signs contains the line number, followed by the original value, you can then compare it to the value directly under it which will be the modified value.

This is a visual mod, it has nothing to do with game mechanics.

If a vehicle HAS a spotlight you can use (Interceptor, Yard1s SAHP Stainer only with the V lightbar), turn on highbeams with your headlight key. Anything else will require a script mod.

very good job but i have the light of the car too bright? I think change value in visual setting but i don't know what is the line to change. Thank you for your help

I also have a problem with one of the value, first off let me say your mod is a must !! My problem is with the new dodge charger 2015, the red light around the back of the car (the one connecting with the brake) is too bright it make a kind of big bloom around it and I can't find the value for it, did anybody change the value for this and could point me in the right direction ?

Will these mods or car skins work onlien without getting banned and can i still play the normal gta v without having to redo this

Any modified files run the risk of getting banned. Use OpenIV's mod folder to keep your modded files separate.

I actually ended up doing that, and following the Amber Lights fix as well. Should of edited my post, thank you. =) The only car that keeps the indicators on is the 2015 Dodge Charger RT, but that has a few problems anyways.

HOT FIX RELEASED, NOW CORRECTED BRIGHTNESS, I MADE A MISTAKE IN THE INITIAL RELEASE THAT DRASTICALLY REDUCED THE ORIGINAL LIGHTPOWER 99% LESS THAN MY VALUES, OOPS ! I ALSO ADDED A FEW MORE BONUS CONTENTS INSIDE IT, CHECK IT OUT !

 

For those who are using emergency vehicles, let alone modded vehicles like CVPIs, in order to gain that bright power like in my photos, you have to keep 1 thing in mind and accounted for : What LED texture is it using.

If the texture on the light bar already has colors on it, such as RED/BLUE, this will create a dark brightness because the corona will mirror it.

If you use this kind of texture : http://www.parrpse.com/media/TIR6_Whelen_Super_LED_s.jpg YOU WILL GET A DARK BRIGHTNESS, OR TOO DIM LIGHTS.

So to fix this, find a mod or edit the sherifflights texture to this kind of texture : http://www.parrpse.com/media/ION_Wide_Angle_Surface_Mount_Series_Whelen_Super_LED_L.jpg

It has some white spots on it which allows the corona mirror it and gain that bright LED look to it, and in real life, you would see white in the middle of the color pool on any led products. So its all mirror effects.

Open visualsettings.dat and find the following lines :

car.defaultlight.day.emissive.on 90.00

car.defaultlight.night.emissive.on 90.00

and change the values to 50.00 - 70.00 or to your personal taste.

You need to add a layer to the taxi signs texture file and darken it (a lot) attached is the one I use and it works well.
