This mod allows you to experience correct searchlight coloring and brightness, along with increased emergency LED brightness during daylight and evening, loaded by a HD corona template. This pack will also have a custom carcol file to enhance emergency lighting for non-els vehicles.

INSTALLATION

1. Using OpenIV, replace the visualsettings.dat in GTA V/update/update.rpf/common/data with the new one supplied in this download.

2. replace the graphics.ytd in GTA V/update/update.rpf/x64/textures

- There is a fix for all Orange lights on Staniers, just install that "Amber lights and Clear Lightbar" mod.You need to replace the files inside the .ytd files. The tutorial from FirstThirtyMinutes is very helpfull. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYWbyPj7Fso (You can find the mod in the description as well) And you maybe need to replace it in multiple files (i needed to do it in Patchday3ng,Patchday5ng and x64e) It works for the sheriff,the undercover car and the normal one.

I've included a link with a report comparing the two files. One contained a clean (but out of date) visualsettings.dat file while the other was the modified file.

The file is very simple to read.
In between the = signs contains the line number, followed by the original value, you can then compare it to the value directly under it which will be the modified value.

Going to be honest, I don't like the new update at all, was hoping you'd fix the Police Stanier first before changing the mod significantly and not for the better.

Ok, i recieved your feedback and have come to conclusion that version 2 corona isn't going to work out in the long run. Having this being said, i will return back to the drawing board and see if i can make something more natural looking instead of a camera lens flare byproduct. Thank you for all of your support ! I have many plans for this game for many years to come :)

I'm very happy to hear :-) I know it's not easy taking harsh feedback as a graphics designer but in the long run it benefits you as the popularity of the mod hopefully goes up, I look forward to more of your mods for GTA V :-)

Thats good to hear! Thank you for the hard work you have put into this mod.. in the meantime do you have a good value i could change the flare to? i tired decreasing it to 50 and it helped but not by much.. Thought id ask you before i started putting random values in.

Hey Drunkpolice I have an issue with the visualsettings..I made no modifications & I installed it as per instructed..but at night I get this odd glitch any idea on how I can fix it? It's perfect otherwise though, I really love it.

back to the default setting

Corona before the update looked way better, this has too much of a starburst flare. My 0.02

Updated, try this version now.

Yeah i noticed that too, i don't know why i didn't see this any sooner but i will be making a hotfix sometimes today or tomorrow to correct this issue.

Love your work man, but I do prefer the non-starburst corona you had in the pre 3.5 hotfix version, any way to get the previous less defined corona from that one and add it in? Thanks.

Has the indicator lights always on (at least at night) been fixed in this version? It's semi-easy to fix manually, I just have to compare the original visualsettings.dat with the new version and change the indicator values back to their originals, but it's a little annoying to have to do that with every new version.

A lot of GTA V players who downloads LSPDFR also has the updated stainer headlights which resembles the ford crown victoria p71 iconic amber headlights. I won't touch the values but like you said it's easy to manually edit it to your desired taste.

Doesn't look like in the screenshots for me at all... It looks more vanilla-ish except that when the lights are on, the surrounding turns dark. And the lightbars don't have their usual texture but look like one plain plate..

Any ideas?

The light bloom effects look nice, but the lightbar itself on the Stanier does not. It turns the red and blues to a white-ish color.

The Buffalo and Interceptor ones seem to look fine.

Any ideas?

For some reason, every time I install your mod, the game will update my update.rpf and it will then crash upon launching. Replacing your files with backups doesn't even fix it, I had to get an update.rpf from a friend.

Am I doing something wrong? Most likely, but I wonder what? I go into OpenIV, replace the file and close OpenIV.

Yes, this current version is not compatible with the latest GTA 5 update. I'll update this file later on today.
