This is a replacement for StopThePed and Ultimate Backup. They cannot be used with this mod.
A lot of plugins require STP/UB and cause crashes without them. They will need to update.
Compulite does not work with this. Reports+ or External Police Computer are alternatives.

After two years of development, it's here. Policing Redefined is a LSPDFR plugin similar to popular plugins such as Stop The Ped, Ultimate Backup by Bejoijo, LSPDFR+, or Arrest-Manager by Albo1125. It aims to provide an even more feature-rich and immersive experience to your LSPDFR Patrol, advancing ped and traffic stops as well as adding additional vehicle stops and on-foot traffic stops.
And that is just a small portion of what PR (Policing Redefined) has to offer!

 

Installation:

  1. Extract the contents of the downloaded Policing Redefined v[VERSION].zip archive.
  2. Drag-and-drop the contents of the "GTAV MAIN DIRECTORY" folder into your GTA 5 root directory.
  3. Read the "Get Started" guide on our site

 

After installing your Settings/ folder will be empty, which is normal!
Go on duty at least once: PR will generate them then.

Features:

Policing Redefined has a ton of features which all cannot be listed here. However here is a rundown of the biggest:

  • Ped Interaction: Custom questioning menu, field sobriety tests, Front/Back cuffing, citations, and more.
  • Inventory Management: Store and bag evidence, test substances, replenish ammo, and more.
  • Backup: Call police, fire, and EMS with a full RTS style management menu to assign tasks to each unit.

 

Disclaimer, Please Read.

First, this will be completely incompatible with Stop The Ped, Ultimate Backup, and Compulite, it is recommended you remove them for the smoothest experience.

This is a BETA. This means that you may encounter bugs, crashes, weird behaviors, etc.

The mod itself works as intended. Any major breakages (e.g. the mod crashing on load), are likely due to user error.

PR has been rigorously tested for the past year by various testers and content creators, with no major issues that have yet to be patched.

  • Added to BackupSettings.ini:
    • ExternalDispatchTowTruck: Set response code when requesting tow-truck outside of dispatch menu (plugins like GP, general/misc menu)
    • ExternalDispatchPrisonerTransport: Set response code when requesting prisoner transport for arrested ped

 

Fixes

  • Custom .ini-parser for special characters support
  • K9 fight abort shouldn't kill ped anymore
  • Felony stop doesn't error upon clearing vehicle anymore
  • Felony stop now aborts when a pursuit starts
  • Putting suspect in vehicle (player & prisoner transport) now only uses passenger doors
    • PR will display it when prisoner transport notices that no door to enter could be found.
      If that's the case for you (and the vehicle isn't full of passengers) then it is a vehicle model issue. Use a different one!

And many other small bug fixes, either too small to be their own line, or just missed.

 

Improvements

  • Improved response/parking AI
  • Better animation playing (hopefully less random canceling)
  • Normal dismiss now skips walking tasks of backup peds
  • Made cops slightly more aggressive (more peaking, shooting, advancing)

To update, you only need to replace your DLL and PDB files.
To utilize some search items fixes, you can replace the appropriate XML files too — though it's not required and NOT recommended if you already have custom ones.

PR is set up to have one vehicle per unit, so you need to request it twice

    No, I highly doubt it. You can just press the request button twice instead of once 😅 It would require a lot of extra handling

    hey for now loving this mod but i still having the issue when using the FORCE to make the  suspect obey m orders  it dosent work for me i need to call AI backup  so they can arrest the ped any idea how to solve that issue?

    Taze them, theres a chance they will surrender. In the current version its possible that they remain uncooperative even after surrendering to mimick how some real life suspects just wont cooperate with you leaving you no option but to arrest them (use LSPDFR takedown). Though that will be changed in a future update so surrendering actually makes them cooperative all the time because it can be annoying

    Hi all- I cannot figure out how to interact with other officers or traffic stops. I can hit 'T' to interact with peds, but can't figure out how to bring up the traffic stop menu or the menu to interact with officers. Can anyone assist? Thank you in advance!

    I haven't modified Loadouts.xml, it only has the default version. Yet, I don't have Stungun and Nightstick in my inventory. What's causing the problem ?

    On a traffic stop you also hit T when you are near the vehicle.

    To interact with backup peds you have two options:

    1. Press Ctrl+B to bring up the manager menu for units, there you can select a unit to get access to the peds

    2. Hold Ctrl+B while facing a backup ped until the bottom right bar is filled

    A quick message regarding PR's development state that I posted on our discord.

     

    This does NOT mean that PR is broken, because it is not. If you experience any game-breaking issues it is 99% likely that it is an issue on your end (incompatible plugins, broken scripts/install...).

    I just wanted to let y'all know that the reason for no updates are because I am rewriting it from the ground up.

     

    A lot of the PR codebase is already 2 years old and does not meet my standards anymore. Some bad design choices etc. make it difficult to fix bugs without creating new ones and add new features.

     

    The rewrite is necessary to make PR future-proof, maintainable and sustainable. Since PR has around 40k lines of code I think it's understandable that it's very time-consuming to rewrite.

     

    The good news with that is that once the rewrite is done, y'all can look forward to new features and hopefully a generally more stable plugin. Other developers will have access to new APIs to make them work even better with PR and overall improve your gameplay.

     

    Stay tuned! And thank you for the support, it's great to see that PR has grown a bit already.

    We understand and know you want to use new code base and not use older style like stop the ped outdated. So I’m greatly looking forward to this new version and regular updates in future any chance as your updating pr that you could incorporate mdt into one mod that be amazing

    Awesome mod its everything we had with STP but way smoother. Is there any way to have the nearest officer be prisoner transport instead of spawning a new unit?

    Yeah exactly.. PR will never include an MDT system, the one i am working on will be separate. Development's on hold because of the rewrite tho

    Love the mod and how it transformed LSPDFR. Great job guys. I got just 3 things i would love to be changed/added. 

    1st - I saw you are working on MDT above, will it be accessible from car (similar to STP) ? I would like experience without alt+tab and in general have court system data pre filled based on person i'm talking to. I feel like it would be still immersive, but not 2nd job as ReportsPlus lol

    2nd - If you have partner in your car they should leave car and do at least something like guard or follow player around. He is just staying in car waiting unless told otherwise. Realistically your partner won't be waiting for you drinking coffee while you do hard work 😄

    3rd - Please include takedown keybind - STP had it done really well with double tap E. LSPDFR keybind works but during run pursuit you have to be close to fill in meter and also sometimes it doesn't work.

    Me too would like to see your partner do something else than just sit in car. Maybe if you pull upto a traffic stop your partner will automatically get out car perform traffic stop go talk to the ped until told to stop. Even your partner could get out car and call for road closures etc for scenes leaving you to do license check on vehicle

    Mate, I am working on an MDT but I have a life outside of LSPDFR devving, this is a side-hobby. PR will never include an MDT itself, it will be a separate plugin
