Have you ever stuck in weapon wheel while exiting vehicle?

Did you get killed when you find yourself middle of a gun fight while on callout?

 

If so, you need Fast Draw

 

 

Streets are safer for officers with this script!

 

Fast Draw is a simple ScriptHookVDotNet script that allows draw (pull out) the player's pistol easier and faster while getting out of the vehicle.

 

To use Fast Draw you need to hold down vehicle exit key (Default key: F). If you tap the vehicle exit key your ped will get out of the vehicle as standard (without drawing pistol and closing the vehicle's door).

 

If you hold the aiming key (Default key: Right mouse button) while exiting the vehicle, your ped will be ready to shoot immediately and leaves the vehicle door open.

Otherwise, if you don't hold RMB your ped will close the vehicle door and holds his/her pistol in hand.

 

 

 

 

Installation: 

First you need ScriptHookVDotNet you can download from: https://github.com/crosire/scripthookvdotnet/releases

Then copy scripts folder from Fast Draw.zip to your main GTAV directory.

Q: Why pistol?

A: Pistol is default LSPDFFR weapon.

 

Q: Can I get out vehicle without drawing my gun with this script?

A: Yes, you can. Just tap the vehicle exit key.

 

Q: If I don't have pistol on my ped is this script can cause any error?

A: No, if your pad doesn't have pistol noting happens.

 

Q: I'm using different key combinations or controller. Is this script still works?

A: Yes, it should work. Script uses vehicle exit control method.

 

Q: Can I select another weapon?

A: Yes, Fast Draw now has a menu. You can select any time.

 

Q: Script doesn't work for me what can be wrong?

A: Make sure ScriptHookVDotNet working and up to date.

 

Q: Can I save my selected weapons to ini file?

A: Yes, Fast Draw now has Save Function. You don't have to deal with ini file. Script saves for you.

Fast Draw v1.1 Changelog

  • UI Menu support added. 
    • You can select or change your weapon in 4 categories from in-game menu. (Default Menu Key: F9)

    • Under GTAV\scripts folder Fast_Draw_Settings.ini file added. You can change menu key. 
  • Default weapon set as Pistol. 
    • When you start the game, the default weapon will be selected as pistol you can change it via the menu at any time. 
  • Menu will offer you if you don't have selected weapon in your inventory. 
    • If you select YES, the weapon you selected and the amount of ammo you specified will be added to your inventory. 
    • If you select NO, the weapon you choose will be saved until you add it to your inventory. 

 

 

IMPORTANT: If you are using Bjoljo's Stop The Pad plugin weapons will be restricted with Pistol, Pump Shotgun, Carbine Rifle. Other weapons won’t be used. 

You can disable Stop The Pad's RealisticWeaponSystem. 

While in game and Stop The Pad plugin running go to your vehicle, press G key and select Disable Realistic Weapon System 

Or 

Go to: GTAV\plugins\LSDPFR\StopThePed.ini 

Find [RealisticWeaponSystem] 

Replace EnabledOnStartup=no 

 

 

EXCEPTION (Known): If you're shooting from inside the vehicle, the game could select the weapon you fired the first time you get out of the vehicle. However, the next time the script will continue to work as expected.

I am doing it without this mod by selecting weapon (any pistol) via TAB key in the vehicle and while exiting the vehicle I am holding the aiming key too and I'm ready to shoot immediately like in the video. But I will put "❤️" for your great idea.

Hey Murtoo,

Recently i've been suffering total GTA5 crashes with fastdraw after having no issues (and adding no plugins). Currently removed plugin, attempted to re-install and nothing changes. Know what could be causing it?

Hey, Sometimes every plugin or modification can cause random crashes.

Firstly try complete restart your pc. A clean memory might help. 

Secondly try run your game without Rage Plugin Hook. 

Sorry but if it is not fixing I can only offer fresh installation.

As I remember, no body reported this plugin causing crashes.

LSPDFR moment. For some reason my SHV.net went AWOL and got deleted. Reinstalled, all worked.

Very good! But when I activate the mod, I can't change weapons inside the vehicle. If I go in with a pistol I get a pistol, if I am unarmed I am unarmed.

There seems to be a conflict between Basic Vehicle Actions and FastDraw where the door is left open on a short press of the exit button. From my testing, it has something to do with having the BVA "auto seatbelt" function on. BVA says there is an extra delay on exiting the vehicle for removing the seatbelt. I am curious to know if anyone else has experienced this issue, as well as if the Author is able to remedy this so I can continue to use both BVA and FastDraw together. These mods are both a "must have" for my playing experience. However, with the conflict, I would choose remove FastDraw as I can get a similar function from the TAB key while in vehicle, and can still have my seatbelt on with BVA. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Hi @NathanWhitcomb, I have tested with BVA V2.01 and works fine. You can see my settings and a screenshot below.

is this script still must have for this thing? is lspdfr have this feature default? and is it working nowdays?

 

edit: i just tested. you can do this without this script but only with pistol. just hold rmb and exit your vehicle.

For those of you like me whose brains are as smooth as beach glass and are looking here to figure out why its not working. 

 

As the mod says, you need ScriptHookVDotNet, and that is not the same as ScriptHookV you may already have, just look above on the page and there is a download link

this is great, but i'm having an issue. it works fine for loading weapons with my number keys, but after loading at least one weapon, I can no longer access the tab loading wheel for the rest of the session.

Same here, it's not a big deal most of the time, but it is annoying at times.

I found a work around. It is a bit kludgy, but I don't feel like writing an entire script to just re-enable the weapon wheel.

In your main GTA5 directory there should be a directory named ExecuteCode
If that does not exist go ahead and create it

Inside the ExecuteCode direcotry create a file named weapon_wheel.cs

Paste the following two lines in and save  the file


Ped character = Game.LocalPlayer.Character;
NativeFunction.Natives.xED7F7EFE9FABF340(character,true);


Now in the game bring up the rage console (Default is F4 I believe) and in the console type the following:
ExecuteCodeSnippet weapon_wheel.cs
(Note: you can copy paste into the Rage Console so it can be a bit easier that way)

After a few seconds it should tell you compilation successful and then followed by a few lines of <UNLOADED_PLUGIN>, which is not something to worry about. It's just updating the log that it did what you asked.

Close the console and you should have weapon wheel back. This will be required each time *after* you use the fast draw hotkeys. The Fast Key disables the ability to change weapons with the wheel, and never re-enables it.

The XED7F7EFE9FABF340 is the hash value for the function that turns it back on, as shown here :

Man this is a godsend. I love using FastDraw but I also carry a lot of equipment that comes in handy that I lose when I press a hotkey or accidently fat-finger a hotkey locking out the weapon wheel. This cs file works like a charm.
