Cryptic's Policing Redefined: Realistic Search Items 2.0.0

(0 reviews)

1 Screenshot

Policing Redefined: Realistic Search Items is a new concept built around one simple idea: making searches feel more realistic.

Instead of relying on a small and repetitive selection of generic search results, I have expanded the existing Policing Redefined search system with a much larger and more varied collection of realistic items.

The project covers both pat-down searches and vehicle searches, with thousands of entries across the existing Red, Yellow, and Green categories.

What's Included?

The pack includes two expanded search item files:

  • PatDownItems.xml

  • VehicleSearchItems.xml

I have retained the original Policing Redefined structure while substantially expanding the available search results with more detailed and believable items.

You can encounter everything from ordinary personal belongings to items that could become significant during an investigation, including:

  • Firearms and firearm-related items

  • Weapons

  • Controlled substances

  • Drug paraphernalia

  • Tools and equipment

  • Identification and documents

  • Electronics

  • Cash and valuables

  • Vehicle-related items

  • Everyday personal belongings

  • Miscellaneous items

The goal is not to change how Policing Redefined works, but to make the content it produces feel more natural, varied, and unpredictable.

More Variety, More Realistic Searches

A real search does not always result in finding something significant.

Sometimes you find someone's personal belongings. Sometimes you find something completely ordinary. Other times, you may discover something that immediately changes the situation.

I wanted to reflect that variety by giving Policing Redefined a much larger pool of realistic possibilities.

Items have also been written with the context of the search in mind, allowing pat-downs and vehicle searches to produce results that make sense for where the item was discovered.

Built From the Existing System

I wanted to keep this concept simple.

There are no new mechanics, no additional scripts, and no changes to how Policing Redefined performs searches.

The existing Policing Redefined XML structure, categories, item types, and configuration attributes remain in place. This project focuses entirely on expanding and improving the search content itself.

Installation

Navigate to:

GTA V Directory → Plugins → LSPDFR → Policing Redefined

Back up your existing search item files, then replace them with the included:

  • PatDownItems.xml

  • VehicleSearchItems.xml

What's New in Version 2.0.0

Released

Changelog | v1.0.1

➕ Added

🔬 Cryptic Evidence V2 Support
Added support for unidentified drug evidence, allowing players to discover suspicious substances without immediately knowing their identity. Evidence can now be inspected and tested through Cryptic Evidence V2.

📋 Evidence Description Mapping
Added a comprehensive mapping file containing original descriptions, updated descriptions, underlying drug types and physical forms to support Cryptic Evidence V2 collection profiles.

⚠️ Evidence Review Flags
Added review flags for items where the physical form may require manual selection or further identification.

🔄 Changed

💊 Reworked Drug Descriptions
Reworked 230 drug item entries across pedestrian and vehicle searches to describe their physical appearance rather than revealing their identity.

🔎 More Realistic Search Discoveries
Drug discoveries now use descriptions based on observable characteristics, including packaging, colour, texture and physical form.

🧪 Improved Evidence Identification
Updated descriptions for powders, crystals, tablets, capsules, liquids, plant material, residue, blotter sheets, patches, concentrates, edibles and drug paraphernalia to provide a more realistic evidence collection experience.

🚗 Consistent Search Descriptions
Applied the updated description system across both PatDownItems.xml and VehicleSearchItems.xml.

🛠️ Fixed

🔒 Removed Premature Drug Identification
Removed drug names and identifying wording from drug search descriptions to prevent substances from being revealed before testing.

🔁 Reduced Predictable Evidence Descriptions
Reduced the use of substance-specific descriptions that could allow players to identify drugs based solely on their search result.

⚙️ Preserved Existing Item Configuration
Retained all existing drug types, item probabilities, categories, locations and other functional XML attributes. Non-drug items remain unchanged.

Short Description

A large-scale expansion for Policing Redefined, adding thousands of realistic and varied items to pat-down and vehicle searches

AI disclosure

The author has disclosed that AI tools were used in creating the following aspects of this file:

  • Description
  • Images
  • Mod and Mod Content (Substantial)

The original search item files and concept were created by me. AI was later used to substantially assist with expanding and refining my existing work, including generating additional realistic item variations while maintaining the original Policing Redefined structure and available item types. I reviewed and adapted the generated content as part of the development process.

This is NOT currently compatible with:

Waiting for @SergeantCode3 to push an update so that custom drugs are compatible. Until then if you plan to use PR Interactive Evidence, I recommend you do what I do and use the default search items for PR, until the update for custom drugs is released.

Maybe, in the future make it so you can bag more stuff like Guns, Knifes, etc you know a lot of other stuff but just you know if you can make it just add so you have to add your own stuff instead of you wasting your time so we have to do something and not just get a free good mod?! 10/10 for me

Will do this for the next update 🫡

Are you still waiting for compatibility with PR Interactive Evidence or did you say f it and then made your own? I haven't tried yours yet or the search items but looks good.

Made my own lol. Doesn't seem like the PR Interactive Evidence cared much.
