Have you ever stuck in weapon wheel while exiting vehicle?

Did you get killed when you find yourself middle of a gun fight while on callout?

 

If so, you need Fast Draw

 

 

Streets are safer for officers with this script!

 

Fast Draw is a simple ScriptHookVDotNet script that allows draw (pull out) the player's pistol easier and faster while getting out of the vehicle.

 

To use Fast Draw you need to hold down vehicle exit key (Default key: F). If you tap the vehicle exit key your ped will get out of the vehicle as standard (without drawing pistol and closing the vehicle's door).

 

If you hold the aiming key (Default key: Right mouse button) while exiting the vehicle, your ped will be ready to shoot immediately and leaves the vehicle door open.

Otherwise, if you don't hold RMB your ped will close the vehicle door and holds his/her pistol in hand.

 

 

 

 

Installation: 

First you need ScriptHookVDotNet you can download from: https://github.com/crosire/scripthookvdotnet/releases

Then copy scripts folder from Fast Draw.zip to your main GTAV directory.

Q: Why pistol?

A: Pistol is default LSPDFFR weapon.

 

Q: Can I get out vehicle without drawing my gun with this script?

A: Yes, you can. Just tap the vehicle exit key.

 

Q: If I don't have pistol on my ped is this script can cause any error?

A: No, if your pad doesn't have pistol noting happens.

 

Q: I'm using different key combinations or controller. Is this script still works?

A: Yes, it should work. Script uses vehicle exit control method.

 

Q: Can I select another weapon?

A: Yes, Fast Draw now has a menu. You can select any time.

 

Q: Script doesn't work for me what can be wrong?

A: Make sure ScriptHookVDotNet working and up to date.

 

Q: Can I save my selected weapons to ini file?

A: Yes, Fast Draw now has Save Function. You don't have to deal with ini file. Script saves for you.

Fast Draw v1.1 Changelog

  • UI Menu support added. 
    • You can select or change your weapon in 4 categories from in-game menu. (Default Menu Key: F9) 
      • Handguns 
      • Shotguns 
      • Submachine Guns 
      • Assault Rifles 
    • Under GTAV\scripts folder Fast_Draw_Settings.ini file added. You can change menu key. 
  • Default weapon set as Pistol. 
    • When you start the game, the default weapon will be selected as pistol you can change it via the menu at any time. 
  • Menu will offer you if you don't have selected weapon in your inventory. 
    • If you select YES, the weapon you selected and the amount of ammo you specified will be added to your inventory. 
    • If you select NO, the weapon you choose will be saved until you add it to your inventory. 

 

 

IMPORTANT: If you are using Bjoljo's Stop The Pad plugin weapons will be restricted with Pistol, Pump Shotgun, Carbine Rifle. Other weapons won’t be used. 

You can disable Stop The Pad's RealisticWeaponSystem. 

While in game and Stop The Pad plugin running go to your vehicle, press G key and select Disable Realistic Weapon System 

Or 

Go to: GTAV\plugins\LSDPFR\StopThePed.ini 

Find [RealisticWeaponSystem] 

Replace EnabledOnStartup=no 

 

 

EXCEPTION (Known): If you're shooting from inside the vehicle, the game could select the weapon you fired the first time you get out of the vehicle. However, the next time the script will continue to work as expected.

I know it sounds boring, but to tab the weapon wheel and scrolling for the flashlight is bothersome. If anyone else has a suggestion to get the flashlight out on a single button press, I am all ears. 

Also a button press for just tazer would be nice as well.   But I do like how this mod works with just the fast draw pistol as it would come in handy for sure.

    It is not working for some reason, I have latest ScriptHookVDotNe, all other scripts work only this one doesn't I hold Y button and nothing I tried F on keyboard still nothing, just gets out the car, I have pistol on me too. I even pressed F9 for the menu and nothing works. I removed it put it back in, still nothing. I tried every possible way I know to fix and nothing helps. I attached a screenshot of all my scripts, maybe something is conflicting. Also I have BVA asi plugin that keeps my door open when holding Y button.

    hi, awesome and useful script, but in a next update can u add a way to memorize or set a default gun manually on the .ini file to avoid open the in game menu and choose the gun avery time?

    There's another script called "Enhanced Vehicle Actions 2" that already has this feature, along with other features like signal lights and tire retention.

    I would appreciate if you could give more details. But I would say the idea behind hotkeys is to be able to select predefined weapons by the user with a single key without dealing with the weapon wheel. You can still access the weapon wheel whenever you want. Are you using hotkeys and the weapon wheel at the same time?

    Hi, thank you. I guess you're talking about the hotkeys right? Hotkeys only works while on foot. Inside vehicle you can use regular GTAV controls.

    Probably caused by another mod. I tested and there is no problem with combat pistol in car. What mods are you using?

    Perfect mod but not being able to edit the controller bindings has caused me to rip it out as there's too many conflicts with other mods. For example, all I want to do is disable the quick mapping to weapons. I only want to use the feature of jumping out the car, but can't...

    Hey murtoo! Thanks for the quick reply. I've been actually testing that now, but it seems the functions of jumping out with weapon drawn doesn't work right when I have controller support and fast draw keys disabled. I am however, able to aim as soon as I get out of the car if I have my pistol equipped while in the car before exiting. Which has been my workaround to get everything as close to working together as I can lol

    I tested the settings in the screenshot as well and while the action of jumping out the car works, the control's DPadUP and Down get taken up by the Fast Draw actions. Those are two keys I desperately need for Felony Stop and STP. What is weird too, I also tried to disable "Fast Draw Keys", but I'm guessing this is only for the keyboard since the controller was still responding.

    Actually these are two separate functions. Jumping out with weapon always running as long as script running.

    Enabling or disabling controller support in screenshot only blocks detection of controller buttons for hotkeys by script.

    Can you confirm that jumping out with weapon working when you hold the controller Y button and then aim?

    Yep, you are guessing right 🙂

     

     

    I see no error with controller while controller hotkeys disabled. Must be something else. But you can test with old (v1.1) version. Here is a testing video for your situation:

    Hey, I selected a weapon on the menu and said yes to equipping it. Saved. Not equipped. Tried pressing 1 and it just said I don't have the selected weapon?
