Lenny's Mod Loader 0.4 Build 8825

(17 reviews)
Message added by Cyan,

An issue has been identified with the latest build of GTA V and LMLA new build will fix this in the future. The issue is caused by a change in GTA V's DRM/anti-tamper.

In the meantime, as a workaround starting the game with RPH will allow LML to work. You could also launch RPH when GTA V is at the mode selection screen, waiting for RPH to load, then selecting Story Mode.

The general idea of Lenny's Mod Loader is to provide an easy way to install file modifications. This is achieved in two different ways depending on whether existing resources in the game are to be 'replaced' or if new resources are added to the game as 'addons'. To replace resources, the game file system can be modified on a per-file basis allowing you to quickly change the content of files without touching any RPFs. To add new resources, the new content can be loaded from disk directly into the game, again without the need for any RPF changes. Goodbye to patchday17 and dlclist.xml. Certain mods, such as vehicles, can even be loaded at runtime, making choosing your new favorite ride a breeze.

LML is working absolutely fine. Extra Slots, Fire Callouts, Coastal Callouts, Converted Vehicles...all without issue

if you are having issues, make sure youve updated and make sure other things arent broken and ur blaming LML for it

max.

All has been checked. Am not the only one reporting the vehicles.met file error as well as crashes when loading story mode.

No support page or server either so most people who don’t have extensive knowledge can’t try fix it.

Everytime I have LML installed, My game loads, but crashes once I try to load up single player. I just get an error saying game failed to boot. No mods installed with LML yet. Anyone know how to fix it?

I also have had issues with LML and crashing the game on start up with the latest update. I have removed every LML file and the game loads up fine. Anybody know if LML is due an update or if there is a workaround for this?

most likely its due to the new update...something is off with the vfs file and this new update. I have everything for LML installed and it crashes....i remove that 1 file and it works fine, just not able to do anything that requires LML

this also happened with an update back in April 2024, same issue

I have downloaded the Updated July 13, 2023 version, the one previous to the April one and it works fine.

The newest version however crashes my game.

I'm also having issues with LML's compatibility with the latest version of RPH. If I rename vfs.dll to _vfs.dll, the game runs. If I take away the underscore, the game crashes. It's a real pain, as most of my mods load in with LML. I've even tried reinstalling earlier versions of LML, as per the above post, doesn't work for me. Can someone please update LML

Hiya! How do I do this? If LML is causing the game to crash, how do I launch the game then enable LML?

I don't understand your question. My workaround is launching the game with RPH. If LML still crashes when starting the game with RPH, it's not related to the above issue.

Well, I know that every time I launch with vfs.dll intact, my game crashes. When I rename vfs to _vfs.dll, then my game runs, but as vanilla LSPDFR (without some plugins and most of my vehicles). Are you suggesting that I get a copy of just RPH from their site and not have it bundled with LSPDFR, or disable the LSPDFR plugin before I launch the game?

So I launched my game, then immediately held L Shift and got the settings screen. I disabled all the plugins (inc. LSPDFR), then ran the game. Game loads fine. Once there, enabled all the plugins from the RAGE console, forced duty, works beautifully!! Yay!!

Thank you very much! This worked for me.

I'll probably wait for a new build to fix the lml problem.

It's really not that important as some people use it and some people don't use it.

doesn't matter if some people use or dont use it, its still important to those who aren't sure what's the issue is

it’s still important to address this issue for those who aren’t sure what's causing their game to crash, while some people might not need to load rage, others are running into crashes without it, and it can be confusing if they’re unaware of the workaround or the need for an LML update. Even if it's not an issue for everyone, giving clear guidance can help reduce frustration in the community but we can see that you don't understand the issue for people who use or don't use it.
