What does this plugin do? This plugin adds a realistic body cam overlay and also plays the sound every 90 seconds (by default, can be configured).

You can change:

  • The time between the beeps
  • The serial number in the overlay
  • The model text in the overlay
  • The logo and sound
  • A manual toggle key to activate/deactivate the overlay
  • The general overlay scale
  • The date
  • If it works in every view or first person only

Installation:

1. Copy the files from the .zip into your Grand Theft Auto V\Plugins\ folder.
2. Check the .ini file in Grand Theft Auto V\Plugins\BodyCam\ and adjust the settings and keybinds to your liking.
3. Load the plugin via the RAGE Plugin Hook settings or ingame via the console and enjoy 🙂

 


How to use the custom logo/sound:

 

Logo: Place a .png with the logo of your choice (and preferably transparent background) in the Grand Theft Auto V\Plugins\BodyCam\ folder and name the file "custom.png".
Sound: Place a .wav file with the sound of your choice in the Grand Theft Auto V\Plugins\BodyCam\ folder and name the file "custom.wav".

 

Don't go too crazy with the logo/sound files and keep them as small as possible in terms of file size. Larger sizes might cause issues/crashes.

@Sebo How long is "soon™"? I had asked almost a year ago and you commented that it'd be coming "Probably some time this month."

With all do respect, if your estimate then was that it could have been done in a matter of a month or so in total, why is it taking so very long?

 

Please don't take it the wrong way as the only reason I'm even bothering to ask about it is because how much I love the idea for this mod and just the simplicity of it alone.

You've even inspired me to create my own "AXON" overlay and sound for streams/videos in the meantime.

    Yes, and I am really sorry about that. I just had other priorities like Uni and work starting shortly after I released the plugin. But rest assured, It's done (besides a small bug where it shows the overlay in the pause menu), and HoldMyGun is also nearly done. 

    Send me a DM on Discord and we'll see what I can come up with to make up for the long waiting time 🙂

    I know that you said previously that you don't want to make it third-person compatible because of immersion, but please do.

    I really don't like playing in first person, the only time i do it, is when i'm using my dashcam, but then again, i really like the ambient sound.. So please, make it compatible with third-person. ❤️

    I really like this mod. I agree with @sergeantFrank above though. I rarely play in first person, I definitely understand having the overlay only work in 1st person but allowing the audio to be turned on and repeat in 3rd person at least would be epic.

    Having the audio go in 3rd person would definitely make sense, I can talk to Sebo about doing that. The overlay being in 3rd person wouldn't make logical sense, but maybe we could throw an ini option in for it. @Cyanotic @sergeantFrank

    I had to uninstall it because it would crash my game like 2-5 seconds after the beep and would put me back to my desktop. I would love to do this as it would add so much more realism but unfortunately I can't =(

    Would you DM me your log when it crashed? Either you're the first one to have it crash, or it's a mod conflict. Either way I'd like to find out what's causing it 😛

    Loved it when i was able to use it my one time, now i can't get it to load or if it loads it just disappears after 10 seconds 😞 really confusing the hell out of me why it won't work or chooses when to work lol. I wanted to do a BCSO bodycam Episode 

     

    EDITED: got it working properly thanks to pcGAMEZguy . I still love the bodycam sebo!!! 😎

    Will the bodycam only beep in first person because I would like for it to beep in third person as well.
