And a whole bunch of small details most of you will never notice

That should be it.

Would you make a ADD-ON file of this pack ? I would like to have your vehicles in my game aswell. It would mean a lot to me

I might do that with the next update. But don't expect anything in the next few weeks.

No. The vehicles inside this pack as well as the ones in the CVPI pack will recieve an update. Bug fixing, reduced size, addon, new lightbar etc.

But I will not make anymore CHP vehicles in the future. It is very unlikely and if, I will post updates in my showroom topic.

Thanks for your quick answer. I can't wait for you to implement it in some time

Hi, a few suggestions for the lighting pattern while you are working on an update:

  • Have you tried pattern 52 instead of 32 for the primary lights on stage 3? We all know CHP pattern is slow but 32 is just too slow. I think 52 looks much more closer to real life -- it also adds the brief pause between flashing which is what the cars do too. I have uploaded a couple videos comparing the two patterns: Front, Back
  • (For CVPI) ELS steady burn doesn't work for AI and as a result the steady burn red light in the liberty will be flashing, see video. I wonder if this can be fixed by using sirens (perhaps 7,8 together) so they are on all the time for AI?
  • Pattern 52 doesn't work for the charger pack due to the way DRL and the steady burn lights are set up. This is because of the "gap" between flashing in pattern 52. Probably you can use siren 7,8 for these too?
  • As an added benefit to the above point, it will desynchronize the DRL wig-wag from the lightbar, which is more accurate to real life.

Here's a real life video for comparison: https://youtu.be/qnXqpgf9ftk?t=33

Let me know if anything is unclear.

I appreciate the suggestions! But I can't give you an answer yet because I have to check my files first. I do know that using siren 7 and 8 on the charger for the wig-wag didn't work. I just don't remember why not at the moment. The lighting on both packs is probably the most complicated thing I ever did modding wise. I have to take a look and I'll get back to you shortly.

You are a wizard in terms of hacking ELS, I don't think anyone has done anything remotely as complex as you did and probably no one ever will in the future!

For the DRL, I've got the wig-wags on the charger to work with sirens in my other projects. I don't know if you have other things going on in the DRL that further complicate things, but if you want any help troubleshooting I'd be very happy to. 😄

EDIT: BTW I just realized that I had a bunch of typos in my original post (fixed 'em). I meant to use setting 52 instead of 32.

So, I did some Research.

  • I didn't try the pattern you suggested, I will certanly do so, but the new update will probably use the old 32 pattern. I'll explain it below
  • Siren 7  and 8 are used to hide lights. So no. But the problem was mentioned sometime last year and I know how to fix it.
  • I can not use any sirens for the DRL, because they shouldn't flash once the vehicle is in parking mode. To hide the wig wag pattern in parking mode, it is necessary that the DRL are synced to the main flashing pattern. This is also the reason why pattern 52 won't work.
  • Sure, but there is no way to do that with the current lighting setup. And I don't think I can improve it much

I see. I didn't consider DRLs continue flashing when the vehicle is in park. Thanks for looking into it!

Hey @Sentinel55, the flashing patterns do not replicate real life patterns of CHP vehicles with the XMLs provided, is there a reason for this like intentional or am I doing something wrong? I have standard carvariations and made sure that the XMLs were the same ones that came from your pack.ezgif-4-093a1634b3fd.gif.8bd17cff3486bfca15ed3eba1200dfba.gif

You're doing something wrong. My car is not using the designated XML in your game. No way!

I will attempt the install again but I am positive that I used your XMLs. Standby

Hey @Sentinel55, I'm an idiot and did have the wrong XML file installed. Somehow they got mixed up! One more question, I would like to increase the flash rate just slightly for both the yelp and wail patterns, is there any way to edit the XML to make that happen or are they set as is? (They flash juuuust a little bit faster IRL.) Thank you for the help too.

Great!

No. Due to ELS limitations you can not increase the speed just for XML files. You can however, increase the flash speed for ELS in general. In the ELS.ini

Grepolinz12

LightFlashDelayMainLts = 38
LightFlashDelayCoronas = 40

Would I edit one of these values to make that happen in the ELS.ini? If so, do you know which one?

Both. The first one is the pattern speed.

The second one are flashing coronas you'll see when you reach a certain distance from the car

Why do the flashing light just stop once you exit the vehicle

Because the real CHP cars do that too.
