Cop Holster is an RPH plugin that adds some unique functionality to the police handgun holster. It removes the handgun from the holster if a pistol is a drawn. It also comes with intimidation mode -- a simple feature that allows you to put your hand on your holster. Cop Holster works with both the player and AI officers.

Requirements
RAGEPluginHook 0.23 or higher.

 

Installation
Place CopHolster.dll and CopHolster.xml in your Plugins folder.
When ingame, open the RPH console (default F4) and type LoadPlugin CopHolster.dll.

 

Features

  • Dynamic holsters for both the player an AI officers.
  • Animations that automatically play when holstering and unholstering.
  • Intimidation mode, a feature that allows you to put your hand on your holster. Toggle with Right Shift Key (keyboard) or Left DPad (controller).

Questions
Does this come with RDE support?
The RDE Cop Holster config file is in the RDE 3.1 download.

 

Does this come with EUP support?
Yes. Cop Holster comes with support for EUP 7.5.

 

How does Cop Holster work?
All ped models in GTA have what are called drawables. They are pieces of clothing or equipment that can vary between instances of that model. Many of the default cop models have two holster drawables. One is empty, and one has a pistol. Cop Holster simply changes between those two drawables depending on if you have your pistol drawn or not to give the illusion that you are taking the pistol out of the holster.   


I'm a ped model developer and would like to make my model work with Cop Holster. How would I go about doing that?

So i have other bugs right now, but i fixed this issue. It seemed to be a case of checking it was installed correctly first off, Then unloading and reloading the plugin in game in the Rage console. Worked flawlessly after that!

I suggest to change the cop holster handling.  See image below , I think this is the proper handling of Gun in the Holster .

Unfortunately i have noticed an issue. Every time the weapon is taken out from the holster it does not return when you put the weapon away. I hope the developers are still active ? 😞 

 

Never mind its now fixed.

Finally after reading the holster config I found an easy way to make this work on LSPDFR 0.4.9. In police locker you have to open customization and then select the same component - drawable items that are set in the holster xml. The model is "MP_M_FREEMODE_01" for male and "MP_F_FREEMODE_01" for female.

By default it is for example:

 

                  <Model>MP_M_FREEMODE_01</Model>

                    <Component>7</Component>
                    <Drawable>6</Drawable>

 

You can use these numbers ingame and it will work. But the downside is that there won't be a visible holster. To fix this, go into police locker and browse through the component drawables until you find a holster you like to use. Now set the related number in the holster xml file.

 

For example, if you holster is on drawable 95, you put 95 into the holster xml below your model.

Like this: <Drawable>95</Drawable>

 

Now save it and then reload all plugins. Go on duty - police locker - select the same component again and you're good to go.

Hello,

 

Cop Holster is working fine for me.  It is removing gun from the holster but when i put it pack in to place, the holster is still empty

 

Any ideas

Does anyone know why my holster keeps turning into a checkered board? 

 

EDIT : Fixed it, had to replace eup holster with the one from my non-messed up holster

In case you haven't fixed it by now:

Personally, I fixed the issue by loading the plugin after going on duty through the RPH Console F4-> LoadPlugin CopHolster ....

Also what I did was disable the command line in the lspdfr.ini in the Grand Theft Auto V -> lspdfr directory and setting Ambient.DisablePlayerHolsteringActions = false

So just change the default empty holster to the modded empty holster in the xml?

Sorry for late reply, but what I did to do it, is I took the non-modded holster from mp_female and put it where the male holster goes, because I had a screwed up model, but as far as the weapon not going back into the holster, it's buggy as all hell, still sometimes doesn't work

Right, but for me it doesn't work period. I remember it worked once back In 2016 on a default ped I remember unholstering and holstering once and after that it just stopped working all together. Out of any GTA error Ive solved this is the most baffling.

for some reason mine isn't working. i even went to the lspdfr ini and changed the holster setting to true. any thought??

When I draw my weapon it comes out of the holster but when I put it back it doesn't show back up in the holster. Why?

The gun drawing and unholster works fine, but the taser doesnt draw with an animation or unholster.

I edited the xml and set the stunguns drawing to "true" but it still doesnt do it!

 

If anyone has a working xml with taser and nightstick drawing, please send it to me!

some question I have that might not even be possible but worth asking first question is it possible to add a holster sound for every time you un holster and holster your weapon and question 2 is there any way I can change the speed that the gun is unholstered and holstered. thanks
