Auto Patrol - Autodrive, Real Code Driving & Intersection Siren Usage 1.2.0

(7 reviews)

2 Screenshots

This mod allows the user to autonomously drive their emergency vehicle, from normal to Code driving. I designed this mod specifically for content creators so that they can less focused on the small task of cruising on patrol and more engaged with commentary and/or live stream interaction.

Showcase by @DiamondTKG

Much thanks to @DiamondTKG for testing and showcasing the mod. Make sure to SUBSCRIBE to her channel for great LSPDFR content.

Brief Description of Driving Styles:

  1. Normal - This is the typical driving style for AI traffic.
  2. Aggressive - Drives more aggressively with overtaking vehicles and possibly ramming.
  3. Urgent - Kind of a hybrid of Normal and Aggressive in that some vehicles will be overtaken.
  4. Code 2 - Based upon the common driving behaviors of Code 2 driving across the United States.
  5. Code 2 (California style) - A specific Code 2 driving as seen and experienced in California. Through my ride along experiences, officers can only use lights and sirens when authorized. So they typically only, and briefly, use lights and sirens to clear intersections/heavy traffic. They proceed by turning off lights/siren and drive urgently to the scene.
  6. Code 3 - The obvious driving behaviors of Code 3 driving as seen across the United States.

Make sure to put AutoPatrol.dll and AutoPatrol.ini and AutoPatrol.pdb into \Plugins\LSPDFR folder.

Make sure to have the latest version of RageNativeUI installed.

Take a look at the INI at least once to make sure you are satisfied with the settings.

Disclaimer:

This mod only functions while driving an emergency vehicle.
To disable the autodriving, you may press and hold either the Accelerate, Brake, or Exit control buttons for one second.
For usage with ELS vehicles, you need to set ElsTrfCtrlOn = false in the ELS.ini

This is a really novel feature. I like this. Random question:

This is really interesting, sounds like the similar tactic the NYPD use blipping their sirens? Do you have any further reading or context for this? (Curious for my LAPD patrols)

Here are some sources: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2009-apr-11-me-codethree11-story.html

https://www.quora.com/What-do-the-various-police-codes-such-as-Code-3-mean

I couldn't find any official LAPD/LA County resources. But it's pretty standard across LA County. I've been on ride alongs with several LASD stations, several LBPD stations, and Fontana PD. They only use lights and sirens to clear traffic in their immediate vicinity. I'm pretty certain that anyone else with LA area police department knowledge can confirm.

I think this is a neat plugin, and definitely a lot of work and different features I've never seen before went into use here. However, I think this takes out the majority of the fun out of the game. The whole reason a lot of users come to lcpdfr is to immediately check vehicle downloads. Vehicles are probably the biggest anchor to this community. Weather it's DEV parts, ELS flash patterns, or just general realism, vehicles play a huge part to this game style since a lot of Role Players do go for accuracy and cosmetic appearance. Obviously, driving those cars is what makes it great. Being the one controlling the sirens, horns, and lights is literally half the fun for me. Then driving around, patrolling my own areas, and chasing people is the other fun. But this is what makes Grand Theft Auto, Grand Theft Auto. The unique way to be able to have an open world format and do practically whatever you want is what makes this game awesome.

But hey, I know it's up to others to download it. Not my particular style of mods.

On the upside, nice job actually making something super unique.

Hi, awesome plugin thanks exactly what I was searching for :) that mean you have to create a « LSPDFR » folder in your « Plugins » folder and put both files in it ? Tried that but it’s not working. Thanks for your work mate

I agree. But the main focus I had when making this mod is for commentators and those that live stream. During their live stream, depending on the number of viewers, they can use this to roam while they chat with the audience.

And people have their different tastes when it comes to fun. So I believe this will be a well received mod, especially if I can find a way on making it compatible with ELS vehicles.

Just put these files in the same folder as your LSPDFR callouts.

Make sure you are in an emergency vehicle when you try to open the menu.

It's a simple installation. Place the files in the same folder as every other LSPDFR plugin and callout. Go ingame to an emergency vehicle. Press CTRL G, by default. You can use any CTRL (left or right).

Also, make sure to have RageNativeUI installed.

I just try it. It so good that I don't need to drive on my own. But it will be better if we can change it without having to terminate first.

i do but Ctrl G aint working the only thing that pops up is my STP context menu

UPDATE: Turns out the Pranger Model doesnt support it but all other emergency vehicles do hence why i couldnt use it today on my Ep 92 of lspdfr

Hi again guys, when I launch the game now it shows that the plugin has loaded but when I hit the menu button nothing happen and tried different emergency vehicles nothing works sadly. Interesting to mention is that I have ELS installed. I'm aware that ELS lights will not work with this plugin but does it will have conflict with it ?

Make sure you press the correct key which is Ctrl G by default. If not, change the key to something else.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes the default key wasn't working so I changed it and it worked out 🙂

Should be compatible with any vehicle the game deems as an emergency vehicle.

Have you tried changing the keys within the INI?

I did that right after I sent it. I think it was not working because it was conflicting with my STP keybinds.

It's working now. I don't know why it wasn't working before.
