Siren Switch Honker (Smart tones now available) 1.1.0.0

(18 reviews)

1 Screenshot

Siren Switch Honker is now integrated into Siren Mastery. You can replace the switch sirens sound files with the ones included in Siren Switch Honker's download. British UIs will also soon become available!

Siren Switch Honker

Siren Switch Honker is a script modification that allows you to simulate a honking sound whenever you toggle your siren tone. It supports non-default siren toggle keys and controllers, as well as variable toggling sounds.

Having the horn sound for a short moment when toggling sirens is common in British police cars.

Thank you @Double Doppler for the default sound files.

Support - what to do if you encounter a bug or have problems:

  1. Watch the installation video for my modifications here.
  2. Use this tool: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/9755-lspdfr-troubleshooter-by-albo1125/
  3. Read the documentation file if you're having trouble getting a specific feature to work.
  4. If all else fails: Please leave a comment (not a review). Include your RAGEPluginHook.log file, located in your Grand Theft Auto V folder. Also, please provide an accurate description of what happened. This allows me to help you as fast as possible.

Somebody rightfully pointed out to me that the ELS/USA siren switch tones can also be simulated using this modification. You can get it here:

I don't understand how it works!

It plays a 'horn' sound every time you change your siren - listen to the video above carefully.

If that doesn't explain it let me know.

Ah ok! I was thinking that was a kind of ELS for GTA V!

@Albo1125 Any way you can get it to hold the secondary siren without having to hold down your sire key?

May you create a script that allow you to press a key and in game there are all lights open in static/cruise mode? It should be great

I believe that will be a feature of ELS when it comes out (Which I have a sneaky feeling will be soon!)

I'm pretty sure this is correct.  Siren Key, which essentially was a basic ELS (just for the siren), was removed from the forum recently.  The only reason that would happen is if ELS is coming out.

I have installed sirens in the United States before and most of them have a feature called "horn ring transfer" which basically uses the vehicle's horn button on the steering wheel to cycle through tones.  This makes it easier for the driver, not having to take his hand very far off of the steering wheel.

The horn button can also be used to activate the air horn and/or a short blip of a siren tone if the siren is turned OFF, while in manual mode.  The horn button cannot be used to take the siren out of manual mode, though.  The horn button can only be used to cycle through the available siren tones after the siren is manually activated, directly from the siren controller.

Additionally, the horn will not beep.  The siren controller will bypass the factory horns while the box is switched on and in manual mode.  If the box is switched off entirely, then the basic OEM vehicle horn functionality will be restored to the horn button on the steering wheel.

Siren Key didn't allow you to hold the secondary sirens though, unfortunately.

I look forward to being able to choose a siren tone.  Holding the button screws up my driving style.

AMAZING As always Albo!! Will you make a mod that replaces 1 of your main tones or an additional tone thats the horn so i dont need to turn of the siren for pressing the horn? Like an addition to the main tones...

@Albo1125 Might I suggest a future option to allow for running tones (a beep playing every 30 seconds) while lights are on? See 0:36

Both. As long as it is receiving power, it will beep.

No, but it still acted like a mini ELS with some of the other options.

I can make a smart siren with the tone embedded in it but it would only be active when the siren tone is on, I will probably be making one for Touchmaster with the safety clicks

Meh, an old version of American Siren Pack had this. It sounded nasty as it would be reset whenever the siren tone was changed. It needs to be independent to sound good. Ironically, the "safety clicks" of the Touchmaster was a non-intentional addition, it is literally just the relay for the flashing light that happens to click loudly. There is no "safety click," not sure why Moneybags decided to call it that.

Im really loving this plugin. But im just wondering if there is a way to make this cycle though each siren tone without having to hold down or double press a key to select each tone?

I am having an issue where the left thumb on controller (nor any other key) activates the plugin. Pressing E and J both work though
