Siren Switch Honker (Smart tones now available) 1.1.0.0

(18 reviews)

1 Screenshot

Siren Switch Honker is now integrated into Siren Mastery. You can replace the switch sirens sound files with the ones included in Siren Switch Honker's download. British UIs will also soon become available!

Siren Switch Honker

Siren Switch Honker is a script modification that allows you to simulate a honking sound whenever you toggle your siren tone. It supports non-default siren toggle keys and controllers, as well as variable toggling sounds.

Having the horn sound for a short moment when toggling sirens is common in British police cars.

Thank you @Double Doppler for the default sound files.

I am having an issue where the left thumb on controller (nor any other key) activates the plugin. Pressing E and J both work though

Please adjust your ini file accordingly.

So with this, you don't have to hold a key for secondary siren? It toggles ?

I have installed sirens in the United States before and most of them have a feature called "horn ring transfer" which basically uses the vehicle's horn button on the steering wheel to cycle through tones.  This makes it easier for the driver, not having to take his hand very far off of the steering wheel.

The horn button can also be used to activate the air horn and/or a short blip of a siren tone if the siren is turned OFF, while in manual mode.  The horn button cannot be used to take the siren out of manual mode, though.  The horn button can only be used to cycle through the available siren tones after the siren is manually activated, directly from the siren controller.

Additionally, the horn will not beep.  The siren controller will bypass the factory horns while the box is switched on and in manual mode.  If the box is switched off entirely, then the basic OEM vehicle horn functionality will be restored to the horn button on the steering wheel.

These were handy on the p71s. When we got the taures they went to the APX one in all console control. :/

How do they work now?  Are you saying the horn beeps when you switch siren tones with the horn switch now?

In the past we had them setup as you described. Now it is back to whay it was before the horn switch. Not connected at all to the horn. Just on console buttons on a apx head which is programmed to control am fm radio, 2 patrol radios in trunk, ac and heat, dvr and cam along with vrs and headlights and parking lights along with siren and leds. Basically we gone back to the center console but on one large head where in past sirens and emergency lights would be on several heads in the console. Then it was incorporated into the steering wheel horn setip and now we're back to console use for siren. Fire still uses the horn setup for siren along with toggle on the steering wheel on a bracket to enable emergency lights, and siren where the horn is. It also has a built add on ptt toggle for the radio so driver doesn't have to remove hands from wheel.

Is there any way you can switch sirens like ELS eg: 1 2 3 4 5 to activate and toggle 4 different sirens (5 = Silent)

If it doesn't have it please could you either, add it to the mod, make a mod or link one.

thanks mate!!

Interesting.  I thought that the new Ford vehicles had additional buttons on the steering wheel that could be customized to control different functions.

They do. This setup is agency specific.

Neat.  I do not have any experience with the brand new cars like that with all of the new technology.

Love this mod, i know especially in the UK all the sirens are controlled by Pressing the Horn. is there anyway the siren can be stopped and just the lights remain by double tapping the left stick or something?. i know Double Doppler has this in his video's but it's something he has created.

Albo, can you please clarify?  Did you mean no as in it doesn't toggle? The only way to  toggle is with the other plugin?

With Siren Switch Honker, you must hold your key. There is no toggle. You need Siren Mastery for that.

You can copy siren switch honker's sounds into the Plugins/SirenMastery folder to integrate them.

It plays a 'horn' sound every time you change your siren - listen to the video above carefully.

If that doesn't explain it let me know.

Mine wont work properly I managed to set the key for ''B'' on the controller.

For me I have to press left on the dpad to turn lights on then down on the dpad to turn the sirens on I then use ''B'' to swap siren sounds but when the light and sirens are on and i press ''b'' and it wont play the sound unless lights and sirens are off please help.....

Space.

Would it be possible to use this with ELS? I see theres a config option for what key triggers the sound, but ELS has multiple keys (E, G, T, 1, 2, 3, 4 etc..). Is it possible to add multiple keys to the option? Or if anybody knows what audio files ELS uses for the clicks I suppose we could replace that with the ones from Siren Switch Honker.

Any ideas? @Albo1125

@Albo1125

Is there a way to have it in FiveM as well, because I can hear it in your FiveM videos.

Ps. Love your Videos.

Confused, I added this and can confirm it plays the sounds but for the wrong key, I have it set to default "E" but when i press E nothing happens but if i press "J" then it plays the horn sounds. Any ideas?

Update: So now when i press E without "ELS lights activated" the key works but when i press J it plays the sounds and wont play it when i press E (To sum it up it only plays the horn by pressing E when the lights are off and for some reason it plays the sound for J & E pressed) Do i need to disable something in the ELS.INI? such as

[ AUDIO ]
BtnClicksBtwnSrnTones = true
BtnClicksBtwnHrnTones = true
