Resource Adjuster 1.0.0

(33 reviews)

2 Screenshots

A collection of patches (some of which are used by FiveM) to improve stability, reduce texture loss and actually use your system's available resources as much as possible.

Please note that this script is designed for high end systems with 8GB or more of GPU memory and more than 8GB of system memory available to be used solely by the game, although this is configurable via the included INI file.

Requirements

  • An ASI loader like the one included with ScriptHookV "dinput8.dll".

Installation
Place "GTAV.ResourceAdjuster.asi" & "ResourceAdjuster.ini" into your Grand Theft Auto V folder.

Changelog
1.0

  • Initial release.

Nice one man! Yeah texture loss was driving me mad with the last few GTA updates. It's been nice to just drive about without the world falling apart around me lol.

Dude this works AMAZING! I run NVE and use a bunch of replacement cars so I get texture loss pretty much every time I play. With this, I was able to spawn in every modded car in my game several times in front of the Mission Row station that's notorious for texture loss and had absolutely ZERO! This is game changing, especially for LSPDFR!

Few questions:

You mentioned that it includes other patches/optimizations, what other patches would that be exactly? Just want to make sure none of the other fixes I use (like heap, WeaponLimit and PackfileLimit adjuster) are going to conflict.

I'm running at RX 6800 and so I have 16GB of VRAM to play around. What value would you recommend setting additionalGPUMemory to to actually utilize the card to it's full potential?

Thank you for answering my question I was going to ask! lol. I tried many times to use NVE and always got texture loss no matter what I did.. defiantly going to be giving this a try.

I have a 6GB GPU. When I'm playing on some polish mods I have to lower some graphics settings so map does not start disappearing after some time. Would this mod help me play it without lowering the graphics settings? Thx
The GPU is GTX 1060 6GB if that matters too

It works. IT F***ING WORKS.

I called 9 backup units(4 Tahoe, 3 F150, 1 FPIU and 1 FPIS), Ambulance and Coroner; almost 25 traffic vehicles near the scene. I'm using NVE too. NO TEXTURE LOSS.

You should be good, was thinking about adding stuff like the heap but there's already so many good mods that target that already, if there was a conflict you could fix it by disabling experimental mode just now anyway, or eventually additional settings in the config in an update.

As for recommended memory I'd stick around 2048 and test, nothing bad happens with setting too much but it may lead to stuttering eventually, I've yet to get texture loss with the 1900 default and I have quite a lot of graphics, map and vehicle mods right now.

It would be great if you could help me test it actually, if you use too much GPU memory it will essentially be knocked down a tier into using some of your system memory which can lead to bad performance/texture loss again, stock maxed out GTA on my machine defaults to 1.5GB before this mod.

If you open task manager and go to performance then GPU you can see a breakdown at the bottom of GPU memory being used, would be good to see what the baseline usage is without this mod and then potentially with it.

I can't remember which specific one it was but I'm actually switching one I found on YouTube today (ModCollection).

Ohh ok, cause yeah I defiantly tried a few others before this mod and defiantly caused some texture loss. But please let me know the mod when you find it! also another question, if I’m running a 3090 rtx should I leave the additionalGPUMemory at 1900 or what would be your preference for bumping it up?

I'd leave it at 1900 to begin with honestly. If you ever see any texture loss or issues with the map you can always bump that up a little as a little goes a long way.

Glad to hear it, happy modding!

Hey I checked the GPU memory usage for you, and it seems like without this mod it averages around 4.5GB but with that mod it's somewhere above 5. So it seems like it does make some use of more resources.

Good to know, a lot does vary with what mods you have and in game settings active but it seems like 6GB GPUs can just and no more work with this patch to a decent degree. Cheers!

This is the power of this mod
had preload on true as well
able to spawn like 100+ units during a chase with no texture loss and no crashes does give low fps doing obv

Hey! So I'm running a dinosaur, that being a 3GB GeForce GTX 1060. What additionalGPUmemory would be desirable?

Sadly don't think 3GB is enough. Stock GTA V already uses ~1.5GB for game assets at Very High. You could try with something like 256 to start, but beware you may start stuttering depending on mods and settings as the GPU starts using system memory instead.

The lower the hardware the more difficult it becomes finding a decent config. Either way, let me know how you get on as I think that's the lowest amount of VRAM I've seen people use this with.

You're an absolute legend.

I have every ai vehicle replaced, preload set to true, a mixture of 5 graphics mods, multiple large mad mods, fr running, about 200 add-on cars with 8k liverys and gameconfig with 3x traffic.

rtx2080, set the ini to 2200.

No texture loss.

Hell yeah brother, glad its working nicely for you. I'm looking into increasing LOD ranges for higher end machines as well, what sort of FPS do you tend to sit around with your setup?
