- IF YOU DON'T WANT THE INDICATOR LIGHTS TO BE ALWAYS ON, TWEAK THE FOLLOWING VALUES TO THIS. IF YOU ARE USING POLICE CAR MODS, YOU PROBABLY SHOULDN'T TOUCH THIS.
car.indicator.day.emissive.on 500.00
car.indicator.night.emissive.on 500.00
car.indicator.day.emissive.off 0.000
car.indicator.night.emissive.off 0.000

========================================================
- There is a fix for all Orange lights on Staniers, just install that "Amber lights and Clear Lightbar" mod.You need to replace the files inside the .ytd files. The tutorial from FirstThirtyMinutes is very helpfull. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYWbyPj7Fso (You can find the mod in the description as well) And you maybe need to replace it in multiple files (i needed to do it in Patchday3ng,Patchday5ng and x64e) It works for the sheriff,the undercover car and the normal one.
========================================================

- SPECIAL THANKS TO LauraXo FOR MAKING THIS REPORT :
I've included a link with a report comparing the two files. One contained a clean (but out of date) visualsettings.dat file while the other was the modified file.

The file is very simple to read.
In between the = signs contains the line number, followed by the original value, you can then compare it to the value directly under it which will be the modified value.

Okay for some reason, after installing the newest version, my lights are really dull. is there a reason?

Well, start off with what visual mods you are using, what steps did you take to install the mod, etc. I can't magically look in your head and replay what you did to install my mod.

I figured it out :D, the value was too low in the visualsettings, I upped them to 500 and it fixed the issue.

After installing the mod correctly, the taxi cab roof advertising is insanely bright for some reason. In the visualsettings file I turned indicators off in the daytime. Not sure what is going on.

Changing the following values to these fixed it for me.

car.defaultlight.day.emissive.on 50.00

car.defaultlight.night.emissive.on 50.00

PLEASE! How do I edit the distance and intensity at which emergency lights reflect off objects? I want to make it so that my emergency lights reflect in all directions day or night off signs/cars etc up to 500 feet away like in real life.

anyone who's ridden in a police car knows that for a few hundred feet in all directions, all reflective surfaces light up with the strobing lights.

It looks like you've tweaked this some already, but how can I increase the value to my liking???

 THanks!

Make a new folder somewhere on your desktop, name it anything

Move Both the Vehicle folder and vehicle.oac file out of this .rar pack into the folder you just created on the desktop

Open 'OpenIV' and go to your GTA V Directory.

In 'OpenIV', go to the 'x64' folder, then audio > sfx > resident.rpf

Inside Resident.rpf should be 16 .awc files.

Import openformats, navigate to the folder you put the american siren pack 'vehicles' folder and the 'vehicles.oac' in and  select the 'Vehicles.oac'

save and you're good to go. Happy Code 3 !

Do you have OpenIV ? Click Edit, then go to new tab, and you'll see openformats.

Actually, it's still broken, I will probably have to replace the texture with a darkened one.

(edited)

Is there any way to fix the taxi advertisement that is way too bright without affecting the lightbar?

I decreased the value for car.defaultlight.day.emissive.on and car.defaultlight.night.emissive.on, so taxis now look fine but the lightbar looks horrible. So I guess it's that or we have a nice looking lightbar but lighthouses driving around the city?
