With all due respect, I can technically use these models in my clan if I wanted to for a few reasons:
1- to make these mods, you need to use the assets and key components of GTA IV to create and use them in game. these assets/components are under the ownership of Rockstar games, not you.
2- the models are actually not anything new. Basically, the models here are simple re-skinned from the default models. You are not changing the files in anyway, other than by cosmetic details. Basically, all you are doing is simply re-drawing or re-modeling the pre-made models, you aren't changing and files whatsoever. think about it like this: Scientifically: a physical change is only changing the appearance of the substance, while in a chemical change you are creating a new substance. What you are doing here is a chemical change.

3- If I were to use these models, I would not be making any prophet from the whatsoever. If you were to copyright them, which you cant (see #1, and #4) It wouldn't matter if I used them, as I would not acquire any currency off of them.

4- You cannot copyright mods. Mods are, as they are called, "modifications" for an already copyrighted game. All the files, assets and components are already under the Rockstar ownership. Think of it like this, if I were to make a texture entitled "police_sign_1", or something in that regard, I was not creating a new file, I was simply "drawing" over the already created "police_sign_1".

5- Can I please see the copyright form? If you simply went to a website such as copyrighted.com and got a copyright on these models, it is not official. I could go on Copyrighted.com and get a copyrighted form for McDonalds, in which I would then acquire all the rights to McDonalds. Obviously, that is not possible.

6- You have uploaded the Models to LCPDFR.com, a public file sharing website. By uploading these files, you are giving everyone and anyone consent to do whatever they want with these models. If you didn't want anyone to use them, you shouldn't have uploaded them, or at least uploaded them to a private site.

7- According to copyright law, you con not copyright a U.S. Government work. the NYPD is a government agency, so using the NYPD logo's in this "art" is technically prohibited. (The NYPD logo may be copyrighted, but I am not too sure on that"

8- If the textures are what you call "art" than I can technically use them as I would be under the fair use act of 1976. Just like a youtube video, these textures are indeed "art". Also, while on the topic of Fair use, the idea of my clan is to provide a fun, safe, and educational experience. I want to teach my members about what it is like to be an NYPD officer. The fair use act allows me to use these textures for non profit, educational purposes.

In conclusion, I have every right to use these models for any purpose I wanted. I'm not sure if I will use them in my clan, but I will still be respectful and give you proper credit where it is due. I hope I did not spark any drama, I simply wanted you to take these factors into consideration. I love the models by the way, great job with them :D.

Dang, this is somewhat like... how do I describe this... I don't have a clan, I work alone, I do developing textures, and I never edit anyone's work that is completely protected to prevent my ass being chased by the law enforcers. :teehee:

BTW, it is indeed true if mods developed that intended for specific game own the copyright of specific game, but what about scripts (those particularly add-ons for LCPDFR or LSPDFR)? Should you comply to game maker or GNU GPL License? Personal scripts do not have copyright holder of the other, only the person who made it. Besides, most scripts are compiled and released without source code, not even anyone can break it unless they have a program to extract it.

Mine is quite simple, BTW, with exclusivity period, under conditions attached. My Game Modding License | GNU GPL License

Sorry for being off-topic, but I guess looking on the images is enough to download more stuffs in GTA IV to enrich the game world. Your NYPD Pack is just the thing (since I downloaded a pack containing female cop ped that is not suitable to my style). How about adding a like, @Dualift?

Cheers from Indonesia.

You really felt so entitled as to go and post a giant essay trying to debunk his copyright to his art....? No offense but you really need to find something better to do.

Well, I wrote this at around 3 A.M. and it took me about 10 minutes to write. At the time, I had nothing else to do. On a side note, I apologize for the numerous grammar mistakes I had made. Anyhow, I could see why many were offended by me trying to contradict what the uploader had stated. I just simply felt upset that I wanted to use these amazing models in a community I was in, but was unfortunately restricted from doing so. I could have used them anyway,  however I did not want to ignite any dispute. Granted, I hope you can understand my points I made, and I sincerely hope you may take them into consideration. I could understand not wanting the pack redistributed on public websites, however I was upset with the heavy restriction on clan/ community use. Once again, I formally request that you take consideration into my points. I assure you, allowing clan use would offer you potential benefits. All I request is that you consider what I have stated above before threatening to file copyright claims on people who would like to spread and share your marvelous work. Thank you for your time.

Having issues with the gloves, I have the Peds.IDE installed as well, also, how do you make the peds look so good (high quality textures) on your game? Do you need ENB? Or am I missing something?

EDIT: ALSO HAVING ISSUES WITH HATS BEING SLIGHTLY OFF. FIX?

I know this is a year ago, but.. the 8 things you typed are absolutely incorrect

Replies to the following "Conditions"

1) They're under the ownership of Rockstar Games? Cool. Did he model the peds? No. Did he say he modeled the peds? No. Did he texture the peds? Yes.

2) The Liberty City Police Department Uniforms are COMPLETELY SIMILAR to the New York Police Department  You're basically saying something close to like "Oh, Liberty City is copying the style of New York City, the game has a 'Physical Change' because it basically copied New York City, and it removed McDonalds to get a replacement of Burger Shot, and Cluckin' Bell." You get what I'm saying?

3) Comment went #4 I guess.

4) Actually, yes he can if it's his work. Like #2 earlier, Rockstar Games copyrighted Grand Theft Auto IV, they can because they basically made New York City turn into a piece of art for Grand Theft Auto - a game taking place in that setting. In proper relation, Dualift here may have edited the LCPD uniforms into NYPD, because he wants the feeling of a true New York City feeling with the NYPD. It's his artwork.. it's like remixes for songs. If I made a song called "Ohhhh Sweet Home Baby Sweet Home Whatever Yaaaa Baby", someone could make a remix and that's fine - it's the transformation of artwork to a different preference.

5) I don't think you interpreted right, it's right here on https://www.lcpdfr.com/terms/ - "We ask that at all times the dedication, skill and work of everyone who shares content across our communities is respected and appreciated through proper acknowledgements and credits.under the Plagiarism & Copyright.

6) "...giving everyone and anyone consent to do whatever they want with these models"

No, that isn't true. If I went to Vegas725's page, downloaded his NYPD Explorer 2016 and reuploaded it, that's okay? That's not okay at all, so no.

7) NYPD is a governmental agency, of course it is - that doesn't give you the right to invade the privacy of artwork, especially with the talents they've performed to conduct such fantastic art. That's like saying "You've worked on the Erie County Sheriff's Office Textures, Aj? Good job! You spent 7 hours on that I see.. hmm, nope - can't keep plagiarism protected, this is a government agency thing. Guys, you can repost, reupload and abuse the terms in this document freely and protectively" No offense, was just providing the perfect example.

8) Nope, incorrect. I'm a YouTuber, and if you repost any of my LSPDFR videos for example, I can easily hit up the YouTube report button, and get that issue settled with :) Also, if you feel that you want to teach educational purposes for the NYPD, the best thing is make an NYPD ped from your own work, don't use somebody elses if they don't want you using their pack according to Point 5 in this response.

No offense, you do not. Proper 8 points here simply prove what Dualift's policy goes by, and by my examples - I acknowledge that Dualift has a safe way of claiming this as his art. Thanks though! CHEERS MATE! Have a good one

I have to admit that you did make some good points. While I don't necessarily agree with him preventing these models for clan use I do see the flaws in my argument. Thanks for enlightening me on those mistakes.

This mod is great except sometimes a cop with a black head and white arms will spawn in.

That's not a problem. This happened because the game randomly spawn cops, game can't pair the right skin colors. This will happen with any cop uniform/peds mods.

The default cops doesn't wear any short shirts, but they do random change clothes. That's why you can't see any skins change like arms.

Hey,

I would like to report a bug for the m_y_cop model in this pack.

The two lower models, the belt texture does not looks so clear,  also, there will be small space between upper and lower when you put them together.

Also, the HWY peds hat and glasses doesn't really fit the heads.

Cool

Also, for the traffic ped, you might want add gloves on ped hands, also add more heads, instead of all white head.

Also add an amour/vest would be great.

good to see people still give a s*it about this game. remember, for some folks like myself we're trying to put ourselves through collage so we don't have the money to afford a good enough PC to play gta 5, or for some others they just simply prefer liberty city over los santos.
