Right, I have downloaded and tried to install them but they wont install as I the same or a new version of them. What else could I try?

So once I have downloaded them, do I just place them in my GTA IV directory?

I have tried the manual install and my directory contained all the files I needed (as stated in the user documentation and the manual install guide) and it still doesn't load. I can't use xliveless as I need the ability to use multiplayer. It could be the back light of the monitor, that's what happened to my old laptop.
