In your GTAIV folder is a file called Scripts. Inside that there is a file caled "firstresponse.ini" open that file with note pad and find this line "PreloadAllModels = " After the "=" it says false. change it to "true" and close and save. That might help. In other words make it look like this.......PreloadAllModels = TRUE Edit: you posted your second post as I wrote mine. afer seeing it I would advise reinstaling LCPDFR. Also modded cars can have a massive effect on the stability of your game. Instal them one at a time to see how the game copes. If you instal a bunch and get problems you have no idea what mod is causing issues. Also the missing textures suggests you have pushed your PC to it's limits with too many high poly cars.

Nice, Iv'e not seen that chequered patern outside of Europe, but then I am no expert by any means. Works well on this model. Guess I shouldn't be surprised Australia has something with chequer effect. Iv'e not seen many police cars from there tbh.

Forgive me for hijacking this thread and asking a question but it is relevant, and might be of interest to the OP as well as me. Lots of people suggest Gimp as it is free. I myself have recently started using this too, but I have seen that there are "plug ins" available. There are so many, I was wondering does anyone who uses Gimp (or any other program as well) for liverys use any plug ins that they find helpfull ? And if so which ones ?

Nice one. Yeah spark has the "open" function for finding the folder but it also has the "Browse" which opens the default location. When that location has been moved spark seems to freak and wont start. Happy tou got it working. I guess it don't matter where the GTAIV.exe goes as long as spark can find it.

I had same problem. I moved my GTA IV folder out of steam so steam would not run in the background. after that Spark would not work. Spark for some reason even though I run it from my desktop and manualy open my GTA Folder it needs to find the GTA .exe in the default location. So...Open your gtaIV folder and find "GTAIV.exe" and copy it. Then In steam / steam apps /common /Grand theft auto IV / GTAIV - paste the copied .exe file. In other words Where the default location should be you need to have the GTAIV.exe file in place. Thats all, you dont need any other files there other than that. The problem arises when you completely remove the gta IV folder from steam and spark IV cant find the default .exe. No idea why it is this way because I manualy locate my GTA folder with spark anyway but thats how it works *shrugs* Oh forgot. The lowest versions of windows 7. In the link I posted there is another link for the origional Microsoft source but the link I posted is easiest to follow. Windows 7 basic 64 has a limit of 8GB. Premium 64 has a 16GB limit. the rest top out at 192 GB. So for example, I have windows 7 premium 64 bit which means I can expand up to 16 GB if I wanted. (I only have 6GB at moment) Don't worry about it because even if you go with just windows 7 home basic 64 bit that gives you a 8GB headroom which is all you need anyway. Maybe I confused things. Sorry. I posted the link to show that 32 bit and 64 bit are not the only factors to concider but in your case it's not really relevant. so sorry if it confused the issue.

It's not just the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit. The lowest versions have the most restrictions that need to be taken into conciderstion for future ram expansion. I am sorry to say to you I think from what you described your PC just isn't up to running GTA IV. It really is badly coded from the console and takes more resources than it ideally should. Some of the best PC's around struggle more than they should. Just my opinion but I suspect others will reach the same conclusion. :( Edit: I dont know much about laptops but what GFX is powering it ?

It gives you 3 options if memory serves me. Instal all updates. Download but don't instal without asking you. or dont download or install anything. Set it to get your permission to actually instal, that way you can review and choose what goes in and what doesn't. Just looked, it's in Security / windows update /settings in control panel.

Also it has nothing to do with saving game. I'm not sure why anyone would want to save a game of LCPDFR anyway as there is no progression but anyway the stats are updated normally each hour depending on server load. And as mentioned you need to link your account. And the post above me makes a valid point about version 0.91

He knows about all that I would think. He isn't looking for help to patch,he wants to keep his 1.0.4.0. most likely for graphic mods like enb I would imagine and other mods. But as said 1.0.4.0. just insn't supported by any of the LCPDFR versions as far as I know.

Only thing I can sugest is reinstaling the sound drivers which has the effect of setting everything back to default values. About a month ago I was having nightmares with Audio related stuff. I use Realtek HDaudio drivers and had to revert back to a previous driver, since then though for some reason the latest Realtek driver works fine for me and my issues were resolved. Long story short : Easy enough to instal a new driver so might as well give it a shot and see if it clears up your problem. Edit: Just thought I would mention this, on very rare occassions I can get into my car at the begining of the game in GTA IV and there is no engine sound. Just the sound of the tyres on road and susspension squeaks. Unrelated and not a severe as your problem but GTA IV for me has had sound issues off and on in the past. For me it normally sorts itself out after a few minutes Your problem sounds more general though as it effects stuff outside of game. Also if you have a seperate sound card remove it and put it back in. Connections can get a bit iffy over time.

Like all GTA V stuff it's just rumour. But as pointed out even if R* went down that route you can be sure they will screw it up and we will still need something like LCPDFR for realism. If anything GTA V having this wouldn't kill of LCPDFR i think it would just give the devs more tools and options to expand on the idea and take LCPDFR to another level. That's if they havent pulled all their hair out by then :)

Not sure how you managed it but without using capitals i feel like i was shouted at lol. Just cause it says thanks at the end doesn't make it sound any less like a demand. I'm Sure you never meant it that way so don't take it personal, just making an observation.

Not my suggestion but it works. Can't recal who gave me the tip but start traveling there are accept the call when nearly there. In other words dont accept call right away. Seems to work well. Other method is to pull up on the bridge and get a sniper rifle out. You can get all but the ones deepest into the structure :p The same with fishmarket on the main island. If you are too far away and accept the party is over by the time you get there. For me it's realistic, You have to concider where you are when accepting / declining callouts
