  1. I've already checked. Its actually a combo of the Non-ELS and ELS lighting system which is pretty much disappointing considering there are only 8 of them hardcoded into the engine to be utilized without a hitch. So if you want rotating halogens, you're pretty much limited. In simpler words, don't expect to get a Vision SLR AND a FedSig Jetstream mini on one vehicle. Since even ELS won't be of no help once you run out of the default "sirens" (non-ELS modding blokes will understand what I'm talkin' 'bout). Basically you just get the rotor mesh as sirens and wrap the ELS extras around it for v8 to utilize this function. And as said earlier, it'll only work on Police, Police2, Police3 and Firetruk slots. For the rest, you're better off with the good ol' (somewhat fake) ELS-H tech. Thought I'd share my R&D on here since there's a lot more guys here than I expected who're into old-school shit just like me. Wasn't rocket science to figure out, though. I have seen this technique before being used by Netman. However, he chose not to say anything about his mod for some reason.
  2. Yeah, its a shame really. I was hoping Caine would release at least an unlocked vehicle with v8 showing how the new rotator system works but even his recently released SPVM pack vehicles have the old "fake" ELS-H simulation and those too, are locked. Bugz released two NYPD cars which have the new system, but they're locked too. Ain't fair, IMO.

  5. So basically, I can just use a ELS v7 compatible vehicle with ELS v8 with the help of that conversion guide, like I assumed at first? But then I looked at the documentation and the "coronas" got me confused. I thought- well thats a Non-ELS feature and its not supposed to be in ELS? I also happened to come across Sgt. Kanyo's thread of disorientation pertaining to the new system and his extras looked out of place (far away from the lightbar). So does that mean we have to manually make extras spawn by specifying coordinates in the ini just like in EVCS mod? And then I again looked at the documentation and found that this time, there was an extra emphasize on ENV light co-ordinates in the .ini by Caine. Personally, I could care less about them when they were first introduced in v7 (or p'raps I'm wrong?) and I never bothered with them since extras were positioned in ZMod correctly so why would I even want to change something there? I again opened the documentation and found Caine wrote something about the new system getting rid of extras? Wow! A minute ago I was thinking of using ELS v7 compatible vehicles working fine with v8 and now I find that the extras aren't being used anymore. In addition to that, there is a new coronas system. Looks like there's been a complete overhaul then? So how do you even set a vehicle up to make it v8 compatible?? Thats what I meant in my original post. As you can see, its a conundrum for me right about now.
  6. Hey, uh, so I spotted ELS V8 up for grabs this mornin' and I was excited just like everyone else. But there was one thing which was bothering me since- What has been changed? I didn't find any useful info on the download page and reading the documentation feels confusing (its as if Caine added some extra ELS v8 related info in it but forgot to remove the ELS 7 info which adds to the complexity). Can anyone run the description by me? Just a basic rundown of what the new system is all about. Oh and btw, I'm an expert level vehicle modder and possess enough info about both how Non-ELS and traditional ELS lighting systems work. So that you won't have to start the story all the way from 1980s thankfully. Thanks in advance.

  8. Well, I must say he did a good job making the game and I'm proud of that. But if he were developing a game like this, its common sense to do SOME R&D before you jump right into it. So, on one hand, I congratulate the maker of the game, while on the other, I condemn people like Olanov who're freely allowed to insult or call people idiots despite being a part of the LCPDFR team. But then again, he'll always have an upper hand because there are sheeps who try and follow the team members regardless of their opinion quality in hopes of personal gains later on (Whoops!). Anyways, this thread is hot as hell and I better stay away before the admins and mods jump in and start banning everyone (excluding the team members of course) involved. My post might provoke some team members. But thats what you get when you start thinking you're above everything.

  10. Yeah, I uploaded a video yesterday (it was 1080p full HD) and just after it finished processing, I found it had a 360p Max quality available. Strange, I thought. Had to reupload it all over again.

  14. I'm sorry but am I the only one who has had issues with female peds after 1.0 update? I can't rp female peds anymore as LCPDFR seems to now default the walk and voice style to Niko's when you go on duty. After a callout, it automatically locks your walk style to normal m_m_fatcop which screws with the entire point of having a female cop as your player. This issue was absent from 0.95 and possibly from 1.0 alpha release as well.
  15. I just got the 1.0B update and it seems as if the callouts are broken in this hotfix. I tried restarting the game several times but of no use. Every, and I mean "EVERY" native callout ends in "Disregard". I haven't been able to respond to a single callout since I installed 1.0B because the script is just unable to create scenarios. This is frustrating. I mean, callouts are the core, the spine of this mod, right? What am I supposed to do? Drive around feeling a cop? I haven't attached any logfiles since this situation is kinda different and there are no crashes (either game or script related; the script just politely tells me to f*** off rather than crashing itself or the game). I have had only one crash with 1.0B, so this is certainly a plus point, but the no callouts problem is a big turn off for me. EDIT: I swear I was trying since yesterday. As soon as I posted this here, the callouts started working out of nowhere! Disregard. (Pun intended)

  17. Damn, that was sweet of you. And thanks for proving my point. I don't want to preach others and then do the same thing myself. I keep my files to myself. Mainly to avoid what is actually the root of this thread. Like I said,"You never know about others unless you've stepped in their boots". So not uploading files on the website doesn't make me a non-modder anymore than standing in a garage makes you a car.
  18. It depends on a person's point of view what he/she considers as important in life. Anyways, this is not about that. IMO, the people who never contributed in the development of Microsoft have no right to tell Gates to abandon it all and retire to Nilgiri hills. Don't judge someone or their work if you haven't been in their boots ever. Besides, all those who were giving that advice have not a single thing made from scratch or anything uploaded to the database with a considerable amount of work done in it. I cracked up while writing this.

Yeah, just like if I were to claim all of your mobile and immobile property illegally and say," Who cares! Life is for living. Just thank God for it and enjoy it.   21. I already had ELS 7 when 1.0 was installed. I'm just saying I found the root cause of the crash, i.e. ELS files.
