  1. You should have told me you were running EFLC instead earlier, LOL! And here's the problem...do you see it? You need the latest version of EFLC (and GTA IV, for that matter) to be able to run the mod correctly. Download and install EFLC patch 1.1.2.0 and everything should work out for you! Enjoy, and have fun!
  2. Can you please post the entire report? Just copy/paste it into a post. And be sure to run the diagnostic tool as admin, because it may fail to work properly otherwise. And do you mean "no" as it it does not have the items you listed? You must have Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 and Microsoft Visual C++ in order for the mod to work. Additionally, it makes sense for the log to say you don't have an ASI loader and the LCPD:FR files because you were unable to install the mod correctly.
  3. LOL, you're very welcome! Have fun, and enjoy the game!
  4. Well, people who have followed all the above steps always get it to work, because this error is a result of the installer not being able to access the game's files due to Windows' UAC user rights and program priviledges security system. You can try to uncheck installing the taser to see if the installer can still go through the entire process, as the taser is the only component that requires modification of the game's actual files. Additionally, download and run the then post your diagnostic log here so we can check if you have other missing files and errors with your copy of the game.
  5. That's not necessarily the case; both ASI loaders work just the same, in my opinion and in my experience with them. Contrary to what people say, they even work better when together! Did the LCPD:FR installer run correctly without any errors? It appears that the mod is having trouble finding functions of AdvancedHook.dll, which may either indicate that you are not running the game with sufficient admin rights and/or didn't install the mod correctly. To set the game to launch with admin rights, right-click on LaunchGTAIV.exe, click on "Properties" in the drop-down menu, go to the "Compatibility" tab, and then check "Run program as Administrator" near the bottom. Also make sure that you have all the necessary files required to run the mod in your game's root directory, as some files are not detected by the diagnostics tool (which, by the way, shows up clean).
  6. This has been reported a myriad of times. A simple search of the forums would have yielded thousands upon thousands of the same error report, and if you had read the stickies, you would have found a solution much quicker. Seeing how you posted here, I can tell that you did not actually read any of them, contrary to what you claim. But anyways, the solution to this problem is simple. Make sure that your game's root directory isn't marked as "read-only." To check for this, go to your game's install folder, right-click it, and look at the "Attributes" section near the bottom. Make sure that "read-only" is unchecked. After that, right-click on the installer program, click on "Properties" in the drop-down menu, go to the "Compatibility" tab, and then check "Run program as Administrator" near the bottom. Once you've done all this, the install should go smoothly and before you know it, you'll be enjoying LCPD:FR. Be sure to also apply the same "Run as Admin" settings to LaunchGTAIV.exe for the mod to work. Hope this helps you!
  7. If you're not using xlive.dll as your ASI loader, then the saved games are located in your AppData folder instead.
  8. Yes, the AI cops and paramedics do use the airhorn, but at specific instances. For example, when in pursuit or if something is blocking their path while their lights are on, the AI will use the airhorn. However, if you block them, jump on their car, etc. when they are just driving around, then they use the "regular" car horn. By the way, does anyone know the name of the file within the horns.ivaud file that corresponds to the "regular" horn of the police cars? I want to change that to the airhorn sound as well so that everytime they honk, they use the airhorn. If you use SNT and turn on the car alarm while in a police car, then you hear the airhorn. But as soon as you step out of it, the alarm uses the "regular" horn. I find the police cars to use two different horns to be annoying.
  9. Yes, 1.0.4.0 is indeed the best version of GTA IV in terms of stability and performance, but unfortunately G17 Media doesn't support it at this time. So, if you want LCPD:FR 0.95 RC2 to work, you'll have to download and install the latest version, unfortunately. However, if you had LCPD:FR 0.95 Beta 1 and the correct version of ScriptHook.dll (0.4.0), you can get it to work on 1.0.4.0, as I have. Unfortunately, I don't believe that version of LCPD:FR is available any more.
  10. For your reference, this will only be applied once, so you will need to do this every time you want to run the game. Instead, what you should do is right-click on LaunchGTAIV.exe, click on "Properties" in the drop-down menu, go to the "Compatibility" tab, and then check "Run program as Administrator" near the bottom. This ensures that the game will be ran as administrator every time you play it.
  11. Alright, update us with your situation whenever you can. You can also try to reinstall Microsoft .NET 4.0 and Microsoft Visual C++ as well, although I'm not sure if they'll help in your case. Usually, people who's error log contains a missing "web service" file needs these and they usually do the trick, but you don't have the same error. Still, it doesn't hurt to try to make sure that they are up-to-date (Windows Update isn't always reliable).
  12. Just to make sure (since this is not displayed in the diagnostics log), you do have the file "AdvancedHook.dll" in your folder as well, correct? The error says that the mod is attempting to execute a code from it, but it either cannot find it or cannot execute it because a dependent file/tool may also be missing. If all else fails, you can try to reinstall the mod and then install ScriptHook.dll and ScriptHookDotNet.asi separately, as AdvancedHook.dll depends on those script hook files to work.
  13. Your report indicates that you have no ASI loader installed. An ASI loader is required to run LCPD:FR, and is supposed to be installed with it if you used the installer. Make sure that either dsound.dll, xlive.dll, or both (Yes, contrary to what people tell you, having both works even better than just one, although people complain about it. I actually have my mods working great with both of them.) are in your game's root directory folder.
  14. Hmm, that link is still having problems.
  15. So have you tried using both the stable (0.91) version and the RC (0.95) version? If not, try the newer 0.95 RC2 version. Also, please run the and post a diagnostic log to see if you're missing any scripts. NOOSE backup request crashes are prone to happen, so I don't suggest you request for them yet until the mod is made more stable to request for them. Also, the game crashing after playing for a while is normal too if you use more mods (e.g. high-poly ELS-enabled car mods) than your computer can handle. GTA IV alone uses a myriad of memory, and was not meant to be made to play with high-poly car mods, which would use even more memory. Insufficient memory and/or script error(s) is the cause of the crashes.
  16. Hi there! Please run the diagnostic tool and post the entire diagnostic log, as it is missing in your post here. I only see an error with loading AdvancedHook.dll, which could mean that you don't have that file (i.e. you incorrectly/unsuccessfully installed LCPD:FR). The entire log may shed some light as to what you are really missing, if any.
  17. Neolux has specially-taylored some of his ENB mods to work with and make ELS look extremely nice, complete with its own settings for reflection and bloom within the ENB. I have recently helped another user out in getting this ENB to work and look great with his game, and If you want a good-lookin ENB to go well with ELS, definitely get one of Neolux's special ELS ENBs. Plus, this user claims that it has actually helped improve his FPS! Otherwise, iCEnhancer is one of the best ENBs out there that I use. Yes, it greatly decreases performance (my FPS dropped from 80 with Vsync off to 40 with Vsync on), but is well compensated by all the great effects, colors, and graphical overhaul that it brings to the game. You can for examples of what GTA IV looks like with this ENB. As seen in with the right adjustments to visualsettings.dat (and to the ENB's configuration file, when applicable), you can still make ELS look great on virtually any ENB. There's just not as much reflection, but then again overdoing it is unrealistic in my opinion. Hope that helps you in your hunt for an ENB best suited for you!
  18. No, backing up files individually won't always work, since most critical changes that were done to your computer (and that you want to revert) are usually done to hidden files and registry keys, in which case restoring from a backup image of your drive works wonders; it's like the problem or mistake never happened, and it works just the same as before the mess up. Hmm, that link looks like it is having problems.
  19. Once you get the hang of it, SNT is actually very simple—and useful—to use, as it gives you way more control over the game. If you want to become a "real" cop, then I suggest you get vehicle and ped textures that correspond to a real life police department, as the default LCPD textures look pretty cheesy. I would also suggest for you to get weapons of your liking, along with realistic weapon sound mods, like this one. Go to modding websites like GTA4-Mods.com and just search for anything that you might like. For example, most people choose Glocks to replace the default handgun, while I like the HK MK23 SOCOM much better and have replaced the pistol with that. As for car mods, I tried to get those that looked like the ones used by the police department I am emulating in my game (SFPD) the most, so I installed any that had a Code 3 X2100 lightbar. I am actually using a myriad of mods at the same time, so again, if you're specific about what you want, I can give you some suggestions. Otherwise, I'd just have a laundry list of mods... Well, it depends on what you mean by "special." Graphics-wise, I do use an ENB mod, which enormously improves and enhances the visuals of the game. I use iCEnhancer 2.0, and if you haven't seen it in action already, again, for what it looks like. In additon, and also in those screenshots, I am currently using many of my own custom textures and mods, so I consider them "special" to me (also, they are WIP and not yet released). Other than those, I can't think of anything else that's "special," as many mods I am using are also used by many others as well. Well, hope that helps you! Happy modding!
  20. Aditionally, you can also try to use OpenIV, as it is an ongoing and developing project, and you can submit bug reports to the developers when necessary. SparkIV is no longer supported by the developers and thus very hard, if not impossible, to seek support for.
  21. Again, you're very welcome! I can—and they'll represent my definition of "cool"—but what kind of mods are you looking for? There are just too many out there for me to just list here, so if you can be more specific than that (e.g. script mods, car mods, weapon mods, ped mods, etc.), then I'd be more than happy to give you some of my suggestions. Other than that, it's just too broad to ask which mods are cool. Also, feel free to to see what mods I am currently using.
  22. Yes, System Restore does absolutely nothing and has never solved anything for me. I always backup and restore my system using a 3rd party backup utility. But anyways, do you mind posting a diagnostics log using the diagnostic tool? I'm guessing maybe there's a reoccuring script error or something along the lines of that that's causing you problems, if you've experienced the game crashing often.
  23. You're welcome! Glad I helped you out! And yes, you can easily have more than one partner if you use SNT to spawn them. As I recall, you can only spawn up to 7 that will follow you around. Just set them as bodyguards and they will follow and protect you. I actually like spawning partners this way rather than going into the police station and getting one, as not only am I able to have more than one partner, but I can also customize my partners' ped, clothing, voice, weapon, etc.
  24. I remember reading other threads that using that setting in the ELS.ini configuration file may cause weird and undesirable malfunctions to ELS, which is why it is not recommended to use the delay settings. It is flashing insanely fast because you have good hardware that is making the game run at a high FPS. Since the flashing patterns of ELS are entirely dependent on your FPS, that's why it is flashing so fast. One of the motivations for me to install an ENB was actually to fix ELS, as I had over 80FPS and ELS was flickering (e.g. possibly similar to the black regions you are seeing
  25. The problems you are experiencing are not due to LCPD:FR per se, but rather due to the car pack you installed. I don't recommend installing car packs of any sort because they cause more problems than the fun you get out of using them. Instead, I recommend you pick and choose individual car mods to install, so that you can try each one out in the game individually and remove those that are causing problems for your game. Here are some simple troubleshooting steps for your problems, since all three are well-known problems that could have been easily solved by searching this forum or on Google. 1) The reason the car isn't showing up is because you are causing the game to use more resources than is available on your computer by installing too many mods. Your ped is standing in midair and can't move because the car that he's supposed to be in has failed to load, causing an error in the game. If you have not attempted this already, open the FirstResponse.ini file, and change the setting "PreloadAllModels = False" to "PreloadAllModels = True." This will force the vehicles to be loaded into the game so that other textures cannot take their place. However, a side effect of this may include disappearing textures, as insufficient resources is ultimately the cause of disappearing textures. 2) The taxi bug is normal if you install high-poly car mods, and I have no doubt that the car pack you installed included all high-poly, ELS-enabled car mods. To fix this problem, simply download and install a traffic mod fix, such as TrafficLoad or Be forewarned: these mods need more system resources than usual, since it loads more high-poly models into the game. If you already have insufficient system resources, then you'll see even more disappearing textures, in which case it is not recommended to use them—they will eventually cause your game to crash as your system runs out of memory. 3) The car pack you installed probably included all ELS-enabled cars. To get the lights to work, you need to download and install ELS. Hope this helps! If problems persist, please post a diagnostics report using the diagnostics tool for further troubleshooting.
