  2. Love the mod but the spotlight isn't working for me any more. It worked the first time I installed it and ran them game, now any other time I run the game everything works but the spotlight produces an error. It doesn't crash the game just produces the error message in the top left corner saying this: Exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

  4. I'm pretty sure if you just hold W you walk at a normal hip swaying pace. If you hold ALT while holding W you do the "fast walk" which is slightly glitchy looking but is a little bit faster. holding Right Shift makes you sprint. And I'm pretty sure this is the same for multiplayer. But I could be wrong.
  5. Try following these few things and see if it makes a difference: 1) Install the game clean and run it make sure it works. 2) Install LCPDFR 1.0a using the manual installation (make sure you follow the exact steps to doing this.) 3) Load the game, and play it for a few minutes, make sure it isn't LCPDFR causing the issue 4) Install 1 mod that is a script mod and test again 5) Install 1 graphics mod (i.e vehicle texture, enb etc) and test again. If you find it all works ok test after you install each mod individually. Yes it is a long winded process but it's the only way to know which mod is causing the crash. Oh and a good word of advice, if you aren't gifted with a fantastic internet connection, make a complete copy of your clean install, and then zip it to save space. Spending 15 minutes extracting it all when you mess up your install is better than 4 hours waiting for it to redownload. :)
  6. Hi guys, been playing LCPDFR 1.0a for a good half an hour or so, came off it for a irl coffee break then decided to install a couple of mods. Mods I installed were: Sgt. Kanyo's Real timeSync V5 vDH Tow Service GTAPoliceTools Braveheart's breathalyser script What I was doing: I had attended to homeless people causing a fuss in an alley way. I used the / key for lighting as siren wasn't necessary in my books. I dealt with the callout, updated dispatch, turned off my lights and went on my merry way. I quickly adjusted my brightness settings (because they made the new timecycle mod too bright) and continued to drive along the road. Error occured here, I was driving around a bend in Bohan near the down sloped road that leads onto the bridge across to Dukes. The message popped up saying an error had occurred with LCPDFR and it was recommended to start the game again. This was written to the log file: [WARNING - 3:01:11 PM] [Script.Lights] Process: Not a valid police vehicle, hence siren manager instance is missing. Forcing creation [ERROR - 3:04:55 PM] [PluginManager] Unhandled exception caught while processing plugin: Main. Plugin will no longer be executed. [ERROR - 3:04:55 PM] [Plugin.Main] System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array. at freval_36.OnCalloutAccepted() at freval_129.Process() at freval_2.Process() at freval_10.fr1() Oh, not a crash but a bug I noticed as well in my first game was this: [WARNING - 1:46:49 PM] [Script.CalloutManager] Failed to free callout properly: DrunkDriverObject reference not set to an instance of an object. at LCPD_First_Response.LCPDFR.API.Functions.SetPedIsOwnedByScript(LPed ped, GameScript gameScript, Boolean owned) at freval_36.End() at freval_129.fr2() Happened twice, one was a traffic stop after a random world event of a drunk driver. Then a range rover came around the corner in a drunken manor during the traffic stop, plowed through 2 cars and came to a stop so I pointed my gun to arrest him, he too was drunk. Got to arrest him and he just vanished into thin air while I arrested the thin air. EDIT: I restarted the game and now I'm invisible... also the map is gone, and on the start screen too. http://www.lcpdfr.com/uploads/monthly_01_2014/post-4600-0-28541000-1389022943.jpghttp://www.lcpdfr.com/uploads/monthly_01_2014/post-4600-0-10524500-1389022945.jpg EDIT 2: fixed the graphics thing by removing the timecycle thing. disregard that.

  10. I love the idea of the RTC's because it makes things more fun and interesting. Not everyone in the police deals with a guy/girl with an AK-47 under their car seat during a traffic stop or a guy gets mugged and instantly dispatch knows about it etc. But unfortunately the rockstar engine doesn't allow for a decent dynamic crash scenario, and turning up to see 2 cars perfectly undamaged spawned in the middle of the road and trying to pretend that they've had a nasty collision just sucks. Braveheart did a good job of trying, credits to him for his attempt. But unless you build the game to begin with you can't make it that dynamic with a script add on as fair as I know. So what ineseri said above, braveheart's script is your best bet for RTC's, and using Abraxes' police helper to spawn in road barriers and cone's etc to make it more roleplay like. As for the NOOSE thing I rarely play as them. Mainly because their job as you highlighted, is for big scenarios. I lose all fun when I do a traffic stop on someone while wearing a tactical vest and poised like a mong with an assault rifle. So some extra scenarios for the NOOSE players would be a nice idea.
  11. That's understandable, I've never had a surge issue though because everything pc related in my room goes through a decent surge protector which auto trips the power if a surge occurs. That too has been flawless for me :)
  12. Yeah I agree with you on windows 7, my laptop is windows 8 and I dislike it very much. To be honest, windows 7 is windows xp's heir to the throne. So to speak :) And yeah it's because they're more of a budget brand, not well named like corsair for example. But I did what you did and checked reviews, it was the best buy for value and had fairly good feedback. I bought it in the last month or so of 2012. And my pc is still going strong :)
  13. Mr Quiggles is correct, 2x 4GB rather than 1 x 8GB for the RAM. And his bad explanation is also right, kind of....I think...to be fair it really is a bad explanation :P My attempt at an explanation...(don't read it unless you're generally interested, it's quite dull to the non computer minded) Also as has been said already, get whatever OS you like, I use windows 7 64x because I prefer it to windows 8. But when they release windows 8.2 get that. Because that will basically be windows 7 after it's had a facelift. :) I've also no experience of AMD stuff, but the build looks pretty damn good. Oh and the guy who said OCZ aren't reliable based on reviews. They are. I've had one in my custom rig since I first built it, it's been flawless. :)
  14. The busy state is a known issue and they're working on a fix for it, basically the toggle busy state is backwards meaning: Busy = Yes, receive callouts Not Busy = No, don't receive callouts I would check the .ini file because you may have installed the mod with the default state being not to receive callouts, so when you appear on duty you are by default busy and so wont receive callouts. As for the lack of callouts you can adjust this in the .ini file, there is 3 lines in there near the top which should say something like: minTimeBetweenCallouts = 60 calloutMultiplier = 250 maxTimeBetweenCallouts = 120 Something like that anyway, I don't have my install handy to check them :P Basically if you adjust the minimum time and maximum time it will alter the times between callouts, so if you lower the maximum one you will get more callouts closer together (because you lower the range available) and if you make the multiplier higher it will increase the number of callouts possible. Hope this helps. (for other experienced users, if I have gotten the .ini file names wrong correct me please, I'm on my laptop so have no way of checking if they're right)
  15. When I'm not getting calls I tend to set a route in my mind and patrol, just to make sure everything is in check. In particular though I tend to patrol the highways because for some reason for me the AI driving has been modified. (not sure if I have an old handling file I changed or if it is default anymore) This change in AI causes some civilians to cause accidents near the slip lanes onto the highway, I've had to hold traffic multiple times due to fatalities caused by this. It's frustrating being in traffic and losing your rear lights, but equally satisfying when a crash does occur. Sometimes though if I'm bored of driving circles I'll find a clear place to pull to the side of the highways and flick the ANPR on and just let traffic flow by.
  16. Personally if it was me I wouldn't bother with Alienware at all, I would do some research and build your own. It's more fun to build your own and you learn to look after it more than you do if you have it pre-built. But if your a novice with computers I can understand that it is safer and easier to buy a pre-built PC. For those who cannot be bothered to follow the link the PC has the following specs: Bottom line is it is a good build, dell PC always have been pretty solid. If you're using it as a first time gaming rig then fair enough go for it, but don't expect it to be easy to upgrade bits. Dell have a tendency to build very specific computers for dell parts meaning when you decide you want a bigger GPU it likely won't fit the case. I wont go too specific with that build but generally speaking it will do what you want it to do, it will run the games to put on it for the time being and it will be reliable if you look after it. Be aware as well that you've still got to buy monitor's and peripherals because that is £699 for just the desktop. (unless of course you already have those) For me though, if I was building this as a custom PC: (Note everything in the following spoiler is my opinion so for other's viewing don't hate it for any reason, we all have preferences) Hope that helps :)
  17. No problem :) No they stopped using them in favour of the new Volvo's and more recently the Skoda's up here. You should head over to a business park in Stafford, one of them has the police depot where they take all the new cars and apply livery and after market stuff. Plenty of brand new cars there, makes me wonder what they do with them all :P
  18. Looking very good CF, can't say I see too many of the Astras around any more IRL. It's almost a blast from the past up here :)
  19. It was a custom build I started a year or so ago. But need proper cooling on the cpu cause it's stock intel. And the graphics card is just me wanting a new card lol. I'll look into that fan, chears.
  20. Officer Vic, you got the worst luck ever buddy. I feel for you lol. My most memorable situation was not from any chase but in fact a road traffic collision. I was travelling along the coast highway towards the airport, when I noticed a large tailback of traffic, the lights were green and cars were flowing through in the right hand lane, but not the left. On went the blue's and two's, I ordered traffic in the immediate area to stop and positioned my car in front of the issue at hand. A smashed up car? Nope A run over pedestrian? Nope What on earth was causing the traffic? This was... These damn sideways floating motorcyclists!!! Becoming a serious issue that we've had to report it to the local precinct to run checks on all bikers. (We haven't, it's happened once, probably a glitch. But was funny)
  21. Right ok, well it's happened every time the event occurs for me, but each of those times has only ever been during one session of the game. As for the lighting modes, they don't work for me. I posted my crash log in the support section so you guys could look at the error along with a few other's which afaik had gone unreported.
  22. Intel i5-3470 @ 3.20GHz 8GB DDR3 RAM Windows 7 (64x) My GPU is an nVidia GTX 550 TI (1GB - GDDR5) I get an average of 55 FPS 73% CPU usage, and 94% on video memory usage. I'm going to be upgrading to a GTX 660 soon hopefully and will also replace the stock intel CPU cooler with either an Arctic or a Corsair depending on how I feel. Any recommendations?
  23. Oh I thought of another, was reminded by the post above. Is there a way to reduce the time the random event camera hangs for. It's rather annoying driving down the road, then the camera pans to a drunk driver but stays with them until the camera is facing backwards. By which point I can't see my own police car, have crashed into another car, run a pedestrian over and caused such a mess I lose the drunk driver.
