Yea i've looked into 3ds. i was in Uni last year (third year) but just dropped out, planning to go back to school next year so might pick it up then.... I've also seen a lot of people say that 3DS Max is the way to go.

I have a crown vic that I want to play with, and an escalade (there's a few others that I just haven't downloaded yet)

How does one go about converting a vehicle to GTAIV. is it do-able with just Zmodeler? I've failed to find any tutorials whatsoever but would really like to be able to convert vehicles to use for my own personal use, and also to supply as an unlocked resource for others to use.

It is locked, but i'm sure if someone contacted the author they'd fire off an unlocked version. I could try but I'm can't create my own lightbars, so if someone had the lightbar that we wanted to fire off i could figure it out i suspect :) EDIT: it looks much better in game then it does in the uploaders screenshots*

all that i've seen is a couple GTASA ones, haven't been able to find them again

hey guys, I'm kind of a noob. I'm using a tomar bar that is unlocked (can be found here: title="">http://www.lcpdfr.co...visor-unlocked/) (it's a dev model, and as a result is not completely finished so that one can change flash pattern, and (i assume) to cut down on "GAD". I am unable to figure out how to get extra_9 to function, I understand that I need to attach the extra_9_L0 and L1, i'm just not quite sure what they are... :/ here's my hierarchy... thanks for the help folks :)

does anyone have an ELS mapping for this? I've been trying to figure out how to do the mappings (using tutorials by britishpolicemods) but just can't figure it out :( can anyone give me a hand? :D Thanks in advance. This is an extremely helpful thread

what colour do you think would work better? an off-white?

I follow your instructions, but when I get to the UV Mapper (resizing, etc) my model doesn't appear in UV Mapper, after assigning the UV's

i have mine set to like 3 police cars and 5 men

LCPDFR config file, there's one for Police and one for PoliceCars...they're about halfway down i think. Can't post a screenshot atm sadly

You can kind of remedy this to an extent by limiting the number of police officers in a pursuit (also good idea to limit number of cars in pursuit)

Fixed it....I had apparently deleted the common folder

why target anyone really...people like this upset me.

I would love to help, but haven't been able to follow a conversion tutorial (have a couple vehicles I want to convert for myself to gtaIV from DSF but don't know how. And also don't have much modelling talent :( BUT I would also LOVE to see one of the above stated trucks :D
