Converting vehicles

Featured Replies

How does one go about converting a vehicle to GTAIV. is it do-able with just Zmodeler?

I've failed to find any tutorials whatsoever but would really like to be able to convert vehicles to use for my own personal use, and also to supply as an unlocked resource for others to use.

I've been trying to research this topic as well.

From what I've been able to figure out, you need a more powerful program like AutoDesk's 3DS Max, which is capable of converting a multitude of file formats into the .wft file type that is used by GTA IV.

3DS Max is also a much more powerful 3D modeling program for creating scratch made parts, and it's also rather expensive. Occasionally I've seen it on sale for college students and such, but right now the full price version on thier website is $3,675. Or you can pay for it monthly at $185 / month. http://www.autodesk.com/products/3ds-max/buy

Hopefully someone with more experience and knowledge about the actual process of acquiring models and converting them to GTA IV will come along and provide their insight also.
