  1. A taste of his own medicine perhaps? What a moron.
  2. No doubt. Admins are also pretty terrible. Been forced to move onto Arma3 which I'm not so happy about- though it certainly has positives.
  3. Seems to be this one: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> Comments on videos are a good place to start!
  4. Indeed. But they're not throwing a toilet at the car, just a small piece.
  5. You have to be pretty stupid to even attempt to attack a general purpose police dog (not so much detection dogs) since they can do a significant amount of damage very quickly with those teeth! Naturally, police work is always dangerous and is no different for dogs- though keep in mind outbursts like this aren't common despite what the media says- but police dogs are highly trained and highly intelligent meaning they can react to different circumstances just like we can. PD's are treated amazingly well and live very happy lives with their handlers and once reaching retirement age will be allowed to live with their handler. So, yes it is dangerous for them, but not too dangerous.
  6. That could be very useful. But it wouldn't always be possible to use. Say, for example, a pursuit comes to an end by a boxing manoeuvre meaning the suspect car is surrounded by police vehicles- the fact that the police vehicles would be side-by-side with the car would mean throwing anything would be rather difficult to do. It's a nice idea though. Very cheap to manufacture and distribute to officers and clearly mighty effective.
  7. The Para's are trained in riot control and Public Order control since they were the main force to be deployed to Northern Ireland where riots were common place. The riots in London in 2010 was a good example of where The Para's could have been legitimately used- since beat officers were being posted to riot situations- there's a part in that documentary where BTP officers are forced to deal with an increasingly violent crowd even though none of them had the correct gear, or as far as I'm aware any kind of PO training. However, UK police have the ability to call in other forces resources when a National or Regional Emergency is declared. This negates the need for any kind of military involvement since they would gain the numbers needed to bring the situation under control.
  8. It's entirely legal to own and wear body armour in the UK. Body armour weighs a lot- even the lightweight stab-proof, bullet resistant ones make you significantly more cumbersome. Unless you have a firearm or something similar to fight back with, then you'll be wanting to put as much distance between you and Mr/Mrs Madman as fast as possible- something that armour won't help you with.
  9. This is, unfortunately, incredibly common. I've heard of 2m watt (or whatever laser measurements are) being shone at helicopters before. Certainly in TVP we've had numerous arrests of people doing such things. A majority of the time it isn't done out of malice. Considering they're mostly shone at night, people can't tell if it's a police helicopter specifically- if they could I'm sure they wouldn't do it.
  10. We've been told that we shouldn't record using any personal devices without prior permission and approval. The recordings also have to be reviewed before being uploaded to anything. Of course, it's different for each department, but usually it would be a no- mainly because of the confidentially of the people being filmed. It's likely that they will expose personal details eg. licenses, NINs, Credit/Debit cards, DoBs and so on which shouldn't go on Youtube or anything in the public domain.
  11. I see where you're coming from- and you're right, things will of course be different. But in my mind a group of people saying (or indeed shouting) something like ''hey!'' ''stop! i wanna speak with you!'' who have just got out of a vehicle driven by a 15 year old (min age is 18) is indeed aggressive and when followed up by ''go a head, ride away you pussy!'' (which would imply they wanted to hurt him- a threat) could be classed as affray, attempted assault and disorderly behaviour- the second allowing for the WPA to come into effect. In this case, since OP is actually the victim it would allow for protection to be granted more easily. Keep in mind protection doesn't have to be armed police or body guards stood outside the door, but more things like emergency/panic buttons carried on the person, CCTV, monitored doors etc. I deduced attempted assault by the way it was described (it may not be the case that it was). EDIT: Like I say- this is our method of dealing with such situations, it probably won't be the same over there.
  12. That's really bad. I'm sorry to hear you've had such an experience. From what you're saying you acted in the correct way- very mature and sensible. Your best path to take at this point is to let the Police know exactly what happened providing them with descriptions- what they looked like and so on, do this through a non-emergency number or by going to a local police station. Tell them exactly how you feel. There's a chance that they'll provide with you with some protection (over here we have the Witness Protection Act to help people like you). If you have to go out, let your friends or family know where you're going and for how long and if you're not back by a certain time, to call the police. It may also be a good idea to let your building owner know and they can get in touch with the relevant securities (you said you took an elevator so I assume you live in flats?). Chances are they'll be no danger at all. They're just bored and want something to do- sounds odd but it will be true. It's good to share things like this. When this happens you feel like you have been targeted and you'll quite rightly become scared. Though it's very unlikely they will have specifically targeted you- more likely they just wanted to impress each other by annoying you and your friend. Let us know how it goes.
  13. I assume we're talking for GTA here? Otherwise there's no access to the actual PNC on any public web programme. This is the best that I can find:
  14. University detachments are more like kiosks where officers sit during daytime hours to be able to respond faster to any calls on campus- they're not stations, more just a room with a few seats in. I quite agree. I wouldn't touch it but call 911 immediately. There's no way of knowing it's police issue of course.
  15. Police are on the side of the people, but are a tool of Government.
  16. Ultimately, we live in a society that would simply crumble without any form of law enforcement- there is no doubt in my mind that without police countries would to be able to run. However, I think you're right to ask this question. It keeps our higher-ups in check in a way that we simply can't.
  17. I think Netherlands have a good shot at ending up in the final. My prediction: Nederland V Brazil
  18. He sure is one lucky nephew If A2 DayZ is all he'll be running then you can really get away with getting any kind of PC due to the extent of customisability of graphic options. Though I would definitely get the $49 1GB GDDR3. I would have thought that build would be a solid first gaming rig.
  19. Keep in mind- there are police tactics to control people which include hitting, kicking and generally hurting them. If a person is resisting arrest you have every right under the sun to hurt them as long as you can justify it.
  20. I wouldn't call it brutality necessarily- without knowing the full story you simply can't. If the PPD have been trained to be more heavy handed in certain situations then you will see that they receive these kinds of allegations. The first video for example, that IC3 they were restraining could have pulled a weapon out on the officer when he swung his arm upwards. It's not brutality, it's the officers making sure they don't end up with a knife in their stomach. Of course, there will be 'brutality' when a cop comes to the end of their tether. But like anything people are too soft now and will react to anything they feel is wrong. I feel like I should also add that there are bad eggs in every job, and it will be those ones that get videoed.
  21. Ultimately, as criminals move to the internet to commit crimes, so will law enforcement and governments move to control that. Much like crime fighting now, innocent people get unintentionally targeted purely because they've crossed paths of criminals. If you don't break laws, then you have nothing to worry about.
  22. GTA IV is a 32 bit programme which means it only ever gets a maximum of 4gb of your RAM- which is a big reason as to why it's so unstable. I just noticed your location- Oxford, that's the same as me
  23. I've had people attempt to sue me for a whole range of things. In this situation based on the small amount of info available I'd say to back off and leave him alone. Theoretically if a court was to hear this issue there's a chance you'd end up worse off. Practically, they're far too busy to worry about such an issue.
  24. Not my photos but these are some of the cars we use in TVP. The Insignia is my personal favourite.
  25. Uninstall it and then reinstall through Spark IV. If it was working before it should work again.
