  2. I agree with this totally, incredibly stupid to stand there watching and filming while berating the officers - mind you, people will do anything for views on social media. From what I can see, the shooting is justified. Not only was there the original struggle between the homeless man and officers, but you can see a passer-by pick up one of the officer's ASPs and enter an aggressive stance with it subsequently posing a threat. They used all non-lethal options to try and restrain the suspect, and when the threat posed stepped up as he reached for the gun, they responded on an equal manner.
  3. Acts of such cowardice know no bounds. Whenever I hear of children being attacked and killed it makes me immensely sad. RIP little man.
  4. Do not mix and match RAM. However, if the old RAM is the exact same as the new then I see no reason why you couldn't add it in - and yes it will go some way to improve FPS. I'm afraid I can't help with the other issues. For monitors not starting try booting your PC through the MemOK button on your motherboard.
  5. I don't discriminate. If a woman poses a threat to myself, a colleague or a member of the public then I will hit her (if alternative methods of restraint can't be employed).
  6. Hey all I'm in need of a bit of help from those who like to hit the gym every once in a while. I intend to get Level 3 PSU trained, however to do so I need to gain a bit of weight - can any of you offer any suggestions? I'm currently 74kg and would like to get to 82 within a few months. My current plan is: Gym Chicken Protein shake More chicken More gym Thanks!
  7. Very nice work! I'll definitely be having them when you release them! It's been a while since I've done a cycle patrol - maybe I can get back into it in GTA
  8. I don't plan on it. Not much time for romance in this line of work. I'll just wait and see what happens.
  9. English, French, Scandinavian (Faroeese mostly, but some Danish & Norsk), Mandarin and learning Polish. I find that being able to speak numerous languages helped in getting to Sergeant, and when I head towards Inspector it should be equally useful.
  10. I think you have to wait to be validated - if you look at your member group it's: Member (New) - I think you have to wait until the New gets removed. I believe that's done by posting etc.
  11. Welcome to LCPDFR - you've made a good choice For the signature: Go to your name in the top left - click My Profile - Edit my Profile - Signature on the bar on the left
  12. Indeed I have. We had a dealing with a bloke with these kind of teeth a while back, really nasty piece of work. Then again, I wouldn't say it gives a particularly good first impression.
  13. Problem solved! MemOK combined with reseating worked a charm. Thanks to all who helped!
  14. Ok will do, I assume it needs to be powered on for this (obvious but I don't want to break anything further :P) and the RAM stays in? Yep, all new RAM. Thanks for the reply
  15. To be honest, I don't remember the first time I drove. But I do remember the way my mates were driving like they thought they were an invincible rally car driver. I'm not suggesting that you would do the same, but remember that road laws are there for a reason - follow them and you'll be a whole lot safer. Make sure you get familiar with the car before you even turn the engine on, know its power, sensitivity and where all buttons and switches that you may need are. On a less serious note: driving is really fun, it keeps you on your toes and it makes travelling a hell of a lot easier. Have fun!
  16. No, it doesn't even boot when I put the old ram back in. I'll take it down to a PC store and see what they can do on Monday - thanks for the advice! I gave it all a good clean with a can when I took the first set of RAM out, and none of the slots that I've tried (8 in total) have worked. The motherboard is just over 2 years old, and seems to still be functioning properly since I get the beep at startup. The old RAM is 8GB SAMSUNG DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz (2 X 4GB)
  17. No, I just get a lovely black screen to look at. Yep. I've tried draining the CMOS battery and checking the ram through the motherboard but nothing is working. I'm really running out of ideas here
  18. Thanks for the reply! Yes, neither of the 2 kits (4 sticks in all) have worked - I upgraded from 8gb at 1333mhz to 16gb at 1866mhz, can that affect it at all? No I didn't, I've only tried starting with 2 at a time - I'll give that a go in the morning and get back to you. Yes, no other ports work unfortunately.
  19. Hey guys, I've spent the best part of today installing new ram which I had decided to buy since by PC was getting a bit sluggish. However, since installing it I've had a nightmare of a time trying to figure out why my keyboard, mouse and monitor won't boot up. The most amount of information I've been able to get is a single short beep from my mobo indicating a memory refresh issue when the new ram was installed, I've subsequently put back my old ram and that has also failed to boot the peripherals. My mother board is the Sabertooth x79 (http://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_X79/) and the new Ram is Corsair Vengeance 16gb 1866mhz (http://www.corsair.com/en-au/vengeance-pro-series-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr3-dram-1866mhz-c9-memory-kit-cmy16gx3m2a1866c9). I've sent numerous support tickets to both Corsair and Asus however have received no response. Can anyone help? Many thanks!
  20. I'm really not sure about this to be honest. The police officer in me categorically agrees that there are no kids in GTA, I mean, Child (Sexual) Exploitation is a massive problem, and putting kids in GTA only to get shot, blown up or run over by some mentalist would not please a lot of people. However, the gamer in me thinks it would add immersion, and, as you say, new callouts for LCPDFR. I don't think it will ever happen, if they were implemented I guarantee it would be banned in a majority of countries the game is published in.
  21. Not personal past experience, though it's what we were advised to do in foundation training when off duty if we felt in danger. It's also what we tell to people under witness/victim protection. No doubt those fans were trying to profess their undying love for you
  22. We use Plasticuffs during public order duties, since we often run out of speedcuffs and rarely book the suspects in, meaning if we did use our speedcuffs we would be unlikely to get them back. As stated by George, make sure the plasticuffs are concealed, as they can be more easily used on you should criminality get there hands on them than your standard-issue cuffs. Definitely a sound idea to carry at least 4 (I always use 2 on 1 detainee) should you decide to get some.
  23. If you're concerned for your own welfare then call the police non-emergency number, ensure you can clearly and concisely tell them what the problem is. Make sure all doors and windows are locked/secured, keep a phone close by. Is there anyone else in the house with you? If so, tell them to keep a low profile until you're happy that the threat has passed. Stay calm, there's no reason to panic. If you do get to a stage where you really feel you're in trouble then ring the police emergency number, it's better safe than sorry (not that anything is going to happen).
