[ELS] LAPD FPIS Mini-Pack
What's wrong with the wheels? DLC ≠ addon, looks like you are confusing between these. As of right now this is a replacement pack for police3 and police4. I am not planning to repackage any of my vehicles outside of uploading an addon option for this FPIS pack. You can always do it yourself, it's easy. I currently don't have other LAPD cars planned at the moment. See my replies above, please.

An update will come next week including an addon package, better spotlight env lighting, and a few other minor bug fixes. Do you have anything else in mind?

[ELS] LAPD FPIS Mini-Pack
I'm not saying they NEVER use the integrated display because LAPD isn't known to be very consistent with their setups. However, I have seen many photos of their black and white interceptors with the Planar MDT screen and that's why I'm going with that. And obviously I'm not going to use another modder's vehicle as references. I used Photoshop if that's what you were asking about.

You will need to add a vehicles.meta to the DLC pack too. Sounds like that is missing. Desmond’s 13 FPIU is very accurate. Thank you!

That specific vehicle is a show/demo vehicle. I know they used the integrated screen for FPIUs but I am actually not sure about the FPIS. Though, I've seen a few pics where you can make out the Planar LX1250TI being used. I appreciate the vote of confidence!

You can totally make your own addons and there are plenty of tutorials online. That said I am planning to upload an additional add-on option later courtesy of @Mud. I don't have plans for the 2016 FPIUs because Cj24 is already working on them (you can find his WIP thread in modding-forum). I don't have 13 FPIU or CVPI base models that are good enough, but will likely consider them in the future. Yes, and the carvariations file should ensure that the cars spawn with correct paint colors. I use transparent liveries whenever possible because the black and white liveries never follow the bodylines perfectly and are not sharp enough. In this case, you should double check the carvariation files to make sure they are working properly.

- Version 1.1
Vehicles - 2014 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan LAPD Arjent - 2015 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan LAPD Slicktop Features - Full 3-stage lighting with real LAPD lighting patterns. - Takedown via Arjent and dual outward-facing spotlights (slicktop only). - Breaking glass, working dials, animated exhaust, and bullet-resistant windshield. - Authentic 4K LAPD livery (including 4 liveries for each vehicle). - Accurate and beautiful environmental lighting with each light module featuring its own corona. - Optimized file sizes (Arjent: 12.07MB, Slicktop: 11.73MB, including all 4K liveries). Optional Equipment - LoJack system (extra 10) - Laird antennas (extra 12, Arjent only) - Dashcam (extra 12, slicktop only) Please note that this is a ELS/non-ELS hybrid vehicle which means it requires custom carcols/carvariations for the lights to work properly. When using the replace option, the included vehicles.meta files are required for correct dials and extra spawning behavior. You're welcome to follow my WIP gallery where I'll be posting updates as I work on my projects. Acknowledgements - @Alex0365 and @Repticide for helping me with beta testing. - PNWParksFan for his Live Lights plugin which makes customizing and debugging siren settings actually fun. - LMS for his DevHelper (part of LML), which makes vehicle development immeasurably easier (countless of hours saved). - vladimir850 for his excellent LAPD graphics template. Permissions - You MAY NOT upload this mod to other websites or redistribute via other channels without my permission. - You MAY NOT, in any circumstances, use this model for your financial gain in any way, shape or form.- 92 comments

[NON ELS] [WIP] LAPD Based Pack
Came across this thread and thought I'd add a note. IMO, the contention is simply a matter of where you'd draw the line for a realistic build. Some think it would qualify as an LAPD vehicle as long as it has an LAPD livery. Others go so far to the tiniest, unseen details such as how a push bar is mounted behind the grill. In the end, there is no right or wrong; it's good enough as long as you are happy with the vehicle. That said, there is always an implicit quality standard for any community. Given the backlash this file has received, it's clear that many people are expecting more in terms of accuracy. This is OP's pack and they're free to advertise it as an LAPD pack. However, it's only fair for the users to also be allowed to voice their opinions civilly. To OP: Ever heard of "under-promise, over-deliver"? I don't think naming this file "LAPD pack" really helps you because you are essentially inviting people to focus on the accuracy issues which aren't your selling point, instead of the hard work that you've put into it otherwise. For me, the difference between "LAPD pack" and "LAPD based" is quite minimal; I think "LAPD style" would be more fitting to what you've done.

The slicktop is mostly finished. Just a few more details to take care of... -

I see. I wouldn't be too concerned as long as the cars have proper LODs (this usually means L1 should have no more than half of the poly count of the L0 model, ideal if it has 1/3 or less).

Thank you! I can't recall because I'm not using the computer that I model with at the moment. If you are seeing texture loss it's often not due to the poly count per-se, but the video memory usage. In almost all cases, this means the textures. ytd optimization is something that I take very seriously. That said, the poly count, especially L1 onward, is excellent.

I'm usually not the biggest fan of slicktops, but man I LOVE this LAPD setup! -

I know! If only the game supports more than 20 sirens I'd totally start using DLS. 😐 Right now the visor bar, mirror and fender lights, hideaways and spotlights take all 20 slots. The rear deck and grill lights has to be ELS, otherwise I'd have to sacrifice coronas/environmental lighting which I really don't want to.

Don't worry, it has all the lighting. You can actually see the blue hideaway in the picture I posted above. 🙂

Thank you for the video, that's quite helpful. What I've noticed is that there are two possible setups for the slicktop FPIS's. One variant has black pillars, fender lights, bumper grill, and no white flasher on the visor bar. These units are purchased in 2016 and have shop numbers that start with 820xx. (my TikTok video above, and also this video: https://youtu.be/hIGrLcWCSRU?t=42) An arguably newer setup is with white pillars (exactly the same color scheme as the black and white Arjent units), no fender lights, no bumper grill, and with white flashers on the visor bar. These units were added to the fleet since 2018 with their shop numbers beginning with 818xx. I could be wrong, but that's the pattern I've consistently noticed so far from everything that I've seen. Yeah I won't add anything that LAPD doesn't have on their cars. If you like the Valor, Cj24 is working on the newer style LAPD FPIU with it.

I know you are a fan of them, but from what I can see the slicktops don't have white flashing for some reason: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJuRS66w/

You certainly can. Replace or add-on, they are just different ways of packaging the same vehicle files (mesh.yft, textures.ytd, and data files). In this case, the Arjent version will be replacing police3, and the slicktop version will be replacing police4 by default. Thanks. I am working on the slicktop version and they will be released together as a mini-pack once done. I could give an guesstimate, but it likely won't be accurate anyway. I want these cars as much as you do, that's why I'm making them in the first place. 😄
